Have you never been to a Big Lots?? Imagine if K-Mart (you remember that place right??!) and Walmart got together and had a baby. That said baby would be named Big Lots. Yup, pretty much sums it up. It's your lower end retail store. It's where all the odd, one off things go to die. It's where all the supposed "good ideas" that didn't make it end up. Jalapeño Pop-Tarts, that infomercial gadget, clothing with slight flaws, novelty things.....yup this is home for all that stuff. From furniture, to home decor, food items including pantry staples and even a cooler for diary. They have a few toy isles of things that *might* last your child a few plays times. Outdoor items and always a seasonal section. They have DVDs you haven't seen in ages or maybe never seen, you know, the low budget made with a hand camera kind. Personal care items, medicine and paper products. Again, it's a low end Target per se, a small step up from a Dollar Tree. I will say this. You can score some pretty amazing deals on grocery items, if you get here first thing in the morning. They have a clearance end cap that they put all the close to expiration date food items on. And they are marked down dirt cheap! As, if their everyday prices aren't low enough. On a recent visit I scored a case of 20 Pop-Tart Bites for only $3! A case for only $3! Listen, I have 5 kids. 5 kids who are all constantly hitting growth spurts and eating. They don't stop growing and eating. And by law I need to feed them. We go through a LOT of groceries in my house. Big Lots hooks me up with awesome deals to keep my pantry full for them. I'll be honest, I pretty much just buy the clearance end cap deals and my Dr. Teals body soap here. I also just this hemp facial spray that they sell, that I'm very fond of. Occasionally I'll need something else that's cheaper than other stores. But for the most part I just stick to cheap groceries. The employees are always friendly but the check out process can sometimes be a headache, as they are usually short staffed. I prefer this location over the one in Shelby Twp. as this location is bigger and clearer. Sign up for their rewards card and you'll get to save 20% OFF your entire order on certain days. Also, after every 3rd shopping trip you'll get a coupon for $5 OFF your next shopping trip. That's a pretty great savings in my book. read more
