I would say Big Lots is a cheaper version of Walmart. It seems that most of the items they sell are overstock or furniture. I don't mind coming here because it's usually not busy and the products are always changing. I actually bought a queen size Tempurpedic mattress from here three years ago and it's still in perfect condition - no rips, tears, or uneven flat spots. They always have a great selection of holiday decor, which is my favorite part! read more

I have to say, I went in to big lots over the weekend and purchased a sectional. Hank and Joe were over the top helpful and made my buying experience one I won't forget! After I got it home I realized it was a bit too big for my space and had to return it, even after I brought it back and exchanged it for something else Joe was phenomenal and helped me with everything I needed. The chair I wanted was only available in ocean so Joe called and had them hold it for me! AMAZING STAFF!!! read more

Poorly ran store with horrible customer service. Sold me a couch that when unwrapped has no cushions. Fast forward 2 years later and the cushions just arrived with missing throw pillows now. I was told to come in for a refund . When I came back for the refund they refused saying I had to bring the couch back to the store which was never stated prior. The manager Jim is rude and demeaning. Speaking down to me in front of people in the store. I will never buy a product from biglots again and will be calling corporate office. read more

I've always been so-so on this place, for a few reasons. One of which is that they never have enough people on register, so if you manage to catch it at the wrong time, you'll end up being stuck in line for at least 10 minutes. The other reason, is that the prices on some items aren't exactly amazing, and are usually just a little bit off the "normal" sticker price of that particular item, often times fairly close to the expiration date. I know, they're a liquidator. That means I should expect to see shelves stocked with failed products, nearly expired sodas, and other stuff that didn't quite make it. I'm OK with this, and sometimes I'll find a good deal here. Other times, and more often than not, I'll pick up a food item and just think, "Eh, I can get the same thing or similar next door at Aldi's for half the price". Maybe I'm just a tightwad. The furniture is actually fairly well priced, and I've often considered buying a bedframe here, since my current one is pretty much just a mattress on a cart. I can never get myself to pull the trigger on it though, mostly because the selection for beds never changes - it's always the same gaudy sleigh beds and old lady four post styles. In all, Big Lots is alright. They have a huge selection of food, toiletries, health shakes and furniture, all at (usually) pretty decent prices. I wish the furniture selection would change more often, and most of the food items are pretty well priced. Food items are often cheaper next door at Aldi, but then again, you won't be getting the name brands or selection there - not a huge deal for me, but I know plenty of people who put great importance on branding. I mostly use this place for household items like cleaners, containers, light bulbs, etc. read more

big lots is like an overstock store. i'd say cheaper than walmart but more expensive than the dollar store. you never really know what they are going to have in stock. a big part of this store is taken up with living room and bed room furniture. today they also had a lot of patio furniture. they also sell housewares, seasonal decorations,pet supplies, and kitchenware. they also sell shelf stable groceries but they do have a limited amount of freezer case items. this location was recently renovated so it does look bright and airy compared to how it used to be. there is a huge parking lot so parking will never be a worry. on big negative for me is that although they sell a lot of furniture and mattresses they don't offer delivery. when ever i go to this store i spend a lot of money on things i don't really need lol. i think the best way to shop here is to just browse - if you go in looking for something specific you may not find it but you sure will find other things! read more

I have made several furniture purchases in big lots over the last few years, the quality is outstanding and I must say the store in Brick NJ has some of the nicest employees around, especially a young man named Joe. I had many questions today regarding What the warranty was on a purchase I made over a year ago. He was very knowledgeable, polite and very patient with some of the questions I had. This type of employee is such a asset to your store. You don't think twice about making a large purchase when you have someone like him working in your store. Love your products, high quality! My daughter purchase a sectional from here , the store gave her two numbers to call to set up for delivery which was fine BUT the people that were supposed to be the delivery sub contracts the job out . After they were done setting up the couch they ask for a delivery payment of 170.00 dollars she wrote them a check a few days later another amount was taken out of her account for 125.00 plus she tipped them . She was told by the original company the the delivery / setup guy said the 170.00 was a tip . So be very careful when dealing with big lots ..plus when the store manager was notified he could care less read more

It's not a store to rave about but a store worth mention. Visiting on a seldom schedule. Big Lots carries some essentials at low cost. Some of their furniture is good for quick fix. Like I needed a computer desk and didn't have a lot of money for a new one. I was able to get one that suited my needs and wallet. The sales are pretty good and season close outs are good as well.
