Since I moved into Pearland 10 years ago, I've been using Big John's plumbing on the rare occasion that there's something I can't fix. And they have always been fantastic. Previously I have used them for clogged pipes. This time I had them come out to help with the sprinkler valve in the new home. It was non-emergent, so they were able to schedule me within 3 days. The kicker was that I didn't even have to be home for them to be able to get the work done since everything was outside. They were fine, just coming in doing it and paying online. The plumber showed up on time and the work was completed without issue -- faucet installed, new drain, and AC drain tied in. Everything appears to be functioning properly. That said, the final price felt quite high for the scope of work. We supplied the faucet, and the total came to $525 for time and basic drain/AC drain parts. There was no clear estimate or flat-rate pricing discussed beforehand, so the final bill was a surprise for what seemed like a straightforward job. Had new lavatory faucets which I purchased installed and the water pressure is very low! Also had new rain shower head installed, which I also had purchased. Upon completion of job, the plumbers took the shower head and the handheld attachment with them but failed to take the old faucets. The shower head and attachment was purchased by me for $170 and I would lie to have them returned to me! After calling Big John; he said he would look for them, but no response to date! I am dissatisfied with this treatment and will not be referring his business to friends and/or family! read more

Highly recommend! We had an emergency situation (bathroom was flooding because of a blockage in our sewage pipes caused by tree roots) and BJP was able to get someone out to us within 2 hours of calling. It took them 10-15 minutes to fix everything! He took some photos and showed me the roots and what was happening, he also gave advice on how to prevent it in the future (a new pipe) and when I asked him he gave me an estimate of what that would cost. I loved that he was helpful, friendly, didn't try and sell me on anything, but instead educated me, and fixed our immediate problem in a pinch at 7pm on a Sunday night. A few weeks ago, I discovered that my yard was completely flooded due to an underground busted pipe. It had been that way for over two weeks. I called, and big John and his crew came out the next day. I was charged the service rate per hour plus parts. The total came to less than $400. I thought I had finally found my plumber. Then, last week, I called because one of my toilets was leaking, and I had a running leak in my bathtub, meaning the water never shut off completely. In the toilet area, it was discovered that I needed the insides changed out, which okay that wears out often. The crew that came out gave me a quote of $250. Which is totally ridiculous, I can buy the parts at home depot, which I did, for $24. Now here's the part that really hurt my heart, my bathtub. His guys told me that the fixture was too old and he wouldn't be able to find the parts. So I would need to get a new fixture but to do that he said he would need to tear open the wall and replace the pipes and then install new fixtures all for $690. Of course I said NO! I watched a YouTube video, took apart the fixtures, all it needed was a washer and seat screw. I was able to fix all three handles for $17 and that included tools. So, I don't know if this was just the crew that came out that time or what, but big John wasn't with them that time. I'm not sure if this made a difference or not but I definitely am disappointed. Unfortunately, my search for a new plumber is back on. read more

Have used this company 3 or 4 times on my old house and they always fix it up quick and correctly. They let you know what is wrong and what they will do to fix it. They don't pressure you into doing more than is necessary. Always a friendly and fast crew. Best around! read more

Roberto is the best. My hot water heater went out and even though Big John was not in town, Roberto came and checked out the problem. He was very very busy, but still made time to get me a hot water heater the next day. They are a little more pricey, but well worth it. I contacted this company after another company was unsuccessful in their attempt to fix a back-up of my upstairs bathroom. The technician put in a camera that was able to see the issue and then the next day put in a hose with a jet that he was able to snake into the plumbing from outside. This fixed the issue that the other company could not after 3 visits. Big relief!! I think this was a difficult case but they figured it out and problem solved! read more

Big John's Plumbing use to be a good company but now their price is much higher than before and their service is getting worse. I'm not sure if Big John does the work himself anymore. He sent an inexperienced young guy to fix our tub drain. This guy was not well trained. He didn't put a blanket to cover the work area. He was very careless and threw a hammer and other tools on the tub. He caused a big chip on our tub while he was doing the repair. Now we have to spend another $300 to have the bathtub refinished. Big John's Plumbing is awesome! My main drain was clogged and couldn't flush my toilets this morning. I called during work to see if he could meet me when I got home. He did better and came and fixed it before I got home without having to go in the house. Charged me a lot less than what I have paid before and gave me more than one payment option so that I would feel comfortable. Even offered to come pick up a check tomorrow. Very professional. I highly recommend Big Johns Plumbing for any plumbing work needed. He is very nice and fair priced. His crew was great! Very nice, very professional and punctual. I had to have the main line to the sewer system fixed in our front yard, as we had roots that grew into it and completely clogged it.
