The trim handle wasn't damaged. But the old cartridge was for sure damaged with the stem sticking out. Sure, the cartridge would need to be replaced anyways, but taking it out in the first place while not familiar with the fixture could damage the valve itself which could be a much worse problem.

I had a water leak dripping onto the Sheet Rock. in my carport which collapsed my sheet rock. I had roofers come out and replaced a vent and capped another. Still leaked. The plumber looked in my shower and saw gaps in the grout. I also had him cut a hole in the wall to check behind the handle. No problem there. I always pointed the shower at the tile seat to warm it up. That's where the gaps were. I switched showers and the leak stopped! My charge, $75 Great price considering I spent a lot ore on roofers. While YouTube can be a great resource, there are definitely some things that only come with experience and knowing the tricks of the trade. Christian (Epic Plumber) quickly identified what needed to be done, installed the new faucet correctly, and even verified the repair by using the access panel behind the tub to ensure there were absolutely no leaks inside the wall. That extra step gave me real peace of mind that the job was done right the first time. He was professional, courteous, and respectful of my home. One thing I especially appreciated was that he put on boot covers before coming inside. I don't allow outside shoes on the upstairs carpet, and without me even having to ask, he took the initiative to protect my home. It's becoming harder to find contractors who genuinely care about doing quality work and treating a customer's home with respect. Plumber came out for service fee of $69 for water spilling out of the a/c furnace area and he said…read morethere was a clog and if I wanted it unclogged he could give me an estimate and the fee would be applied if I had him do the work. He gave me an estimate of $447 which seemed really high but I let him do the work. It took less than an hour for him to unclog it with a snake and then the charge was 447 plus 69 so the total was $516!!! Apparently I have since learned that this is about 3x the normal rate. A good example of dishonesty with the rate and taking advantage of a female. I should have gotten bids but was worried. This company gives the plumbing business a bad name.

Some jobs little, and some huge. I've never heard any negative feedback. I have dealt with the owner on more than one occasion, and he has always been polite and responsive. They have always responded quickly and have mostly been there when they have said they were going to be there. If there was a delay, I was contacted and told there was a delay. I don't have a problem with that because it must be difficult to tell how long a job will take and if they are working on another job, you can't expect them to just leave it unfinished and go on to the next appointment. No company is perfect but when the owner of a company takes time to thank me for my business, I'm impressed.
