There was a miscommunication at the start of the project, but in the end, I left satisfied. Julio and his guys did a good job and I feel like my place has more life to it than it did before. For that, I am thankful. Fortunately, I did my own research when it came to the type of paint I felt I should get, where to get it, and approximately how much. Tips/pointers were provided by Julio which I feel were helpful to a newbie customer like me. Overall, I'm happy I chose to use these guys. Pros Courteous and prompt Reasonable pricing Communicative Honest & Helpful Quick and mostly efficient (completed in 1 day) Cons Ended up paying more for paint than what I needed Slight damage to furniture (this was compensated though) Would I recommend? Yes. Would I use again in the future? Yes.

Took me a while to post this review. I found them on Yelp hoping the reviews are legit. Some of…read morethem probably are. And as much as I would like to give them a good review, them being our last contractor before we finally moved back in our house (after 20 long months of being displaced after Hurricane Beryl), it has been stressful cleaning up after the mess these guys have done to our home. And to this day, we're still finding paint splatters on floors, appliances, furnitures, doors; unpainted areas; uneven paint; it never ends. If you own a home, and you have things inside your home, don't hire these guys. They don't respect your property. Shoe prints on top of our table cover, it's so bad we had to throw it away. We had just installed wood floors on our stairs and there's a lot of scruff marks a thick dirt that we had to scrub it clean. They painted over nails. Paint was dumped on our toilets and sinks, and on our lawn. A simple search confirms that these are ILLEGAL. They tried to deny it but then later admitted to it when confronted. We brought up a lot of these issues shortly after they "finished" and they did come to try to correct many of it. And for that, I give them credit for. But I'm still finding paint splatters on several items, to this day, as we're working our way towards fully settling back in our home. ADDITIONALLY: before they came, we had our home thoroughly and professionally cleaned twice by another contractor specializing on air quality. And those cleaners have video proof of their work so we have evidence of the condition of our home (cleanliness-wise) before these painters roughed it it. I'm truly disappointed and I don't recommend this company to anyone at all.

After multiple meetings and a detailed review of their kitchen remodeling analysis and 3D design concepts, we requested a few minor adjustments--each of which was accommodated. We were encouraged by their vision and ultimately decided to move forward with Buckies Construction for our kitchen remodel. The project started on a positive note. The removal of the old cabinets and countertops, along with the initial cleanup, was handled efficiently and professionally. However, as the project progressed, communication became inconsistent. Much of the work was completed by subcontractors, which at times resulted in on-site uncertainty regarding execution details and decision-making. Due to limited oversight from Buckies Construction, we often found ourselves clarifying or correcting details directly with subcontractors--responsibilities we expected the contractor to manage. Scheduling and attendance were also challenging. There were missed workdays and last-minute cancellations, frequently with little notice. This required us to rearrange our schedules and take time off work, which was particularly difficult as we have a dog at home and needed to plan accordingly. These disruptions added unnecessary stress to an already intrusive remodeling process. As we communicated our concerns, the situation gradually improved. Increased involvement from Buckies Construction's primary representative made a noticeable difference, and we appreciated the acknowledgment and apology from Joe regarding the lack of consistent supervision earlier in the project. Ideally, this level of oversight would have been present from the beginning, as there were times it felt as though we were responsible for managing aspects typically handled by the contractor. Unfortunately, this was disappointing, as our expectations were higher. At this point, the kitchen is approximately 80% complete. While the completed portions look good, the final result has not fully aligned with the original vision, and some areas still require improvement. Clear and consistent communication is critical in remodeling projects, and stronger oversight throughout the process would significantly enhance the overall customer experience.

I was in Sugar Land to help my mother-in-law…read moreget her parents' home ready for sale while she was also helping get them set up in an assisted living facility. I was only supposed to be in town for 4 days but on the third day, during a medical appointment, we discovered that Grandpa had cancer and that he would need a biopsy in the next couple of days. The morning of the medical appointment, I had called Next Door Painting to see if they could come out that afternoon to see our small project. We only needed the entry way freshened up and I was worried it would be too small of a job for them. They were able to schedule me for the same day for an estimate, and then they kindly moved the time back when the medical issues made us run late. Customer service called their agent in the field while I was on the phone to coordinate everything for us. When Judah came to the house, we were beyond tired and his kindness and professionalism was clear from the beginning. He had a good eye for the jobs that needed done, and a clear understanding of what we wanted. He didn't try to up-sell us on more than we needed and advised us on some other projects that could be done in the future if desired. Even though the job was small, Judah treated us like we were important to the business and sent us a professional and reasonable quote. Bad weather had pushed their own jobs back for some projects, so they could not come for about 10 days, but they communicated that clearly and helped us come up with a day that would work in between all the other things we had going on. Finally, the paint that we thought would work ended up not being suitable - I think it might have been old, but when Judah and the team noticed it wasn't right, they went and bought better paint for us and didn't even charge for it. They said they wanted it to be a gift to us given everything the family was going through. The night before they came to paint there had been another difficult medical procedure for Grandpa and my MIL was alone in the house. They were schedule to arrive early, and I asked Judah to coordinate to be let in by our realtor because I wasn't sure that my MIL would be up to the task of engaging with a painting team that morning. Judah handled it all with ease and grace, and the finished job was absolutely beautiful. This company didn't have to be so kind to us, but they have made a hard time easier and we are very grateful. This might be an unusual review to leave for a painting company, but I think it's important to let folks know when a business does a great job and shows such heart. I wouldn't consider using any other business for my painting needs.
