DO NOT BUY FROM BIG JOHNS. If I could go back in time, I would have read the other terrible reviews and listened to them. If you do not want to read this entire review, just know that they will get you a tub quickly and efficiently, but if anything goes wrong with it, you are SOL.
Within a day of filling our hot tub we realized it had a significant leak. Someone came the following week but was unable to fix it. It took nearly a month of repeated phone calls for a crew to come do a more thorough repair (which still did not fix the problem). During this time, we were having to refill the hot tub with gallons of water every 2 days so it didn't empty and freeze. Keep in mind, this happened during winter so we had to drag the hose through the yard, fill the tub, drain the hose, and bring it back inside so it didn't freeze...every 2 days. Since the tub was still leaking and Big John's was not returning our phone calls, we contacted our credit card company to put a claim in. It had become very clear to us that Big Johns was not the reputable company it used to be, and we just needed to cut ties and move on. While waiting for our credit card company to decide the outcome of our claim, we made it clear to the owner of Big Johns that we wanted the broken hot tub taken away and our money refunded. She said that Sundance was probably going to get us a new hot tub instead. Again, we expressed that we wanted our money back and the hot tub removed. She said Carrie, the manager, would call us back. She never did. It was 30+ days of not hearing from Big Johns. Then a few days before the credit card dispute was going to be determined, they said they could replace the hot tub with a new one, we just needed to sign an agreement. Luckily, we waited to hear from our credit card company instead, and they fully refunded the purchase. We called Big Johns a week later to ask when they would be picking up the broken hot tub and the receptionist actually told my husband that it was on us to deal with it; they weren't going to be picking it up! She called back later to say she misspoke and they did want to pick it up. OBVIOUSLY you need to pick up your broken hot tub. This interaction alone should tell you everything you need to know about this company and how they do business. This has been the worst purchasing experience I have ever had and I am beyond grateful to finally be free of this company! read more
