We are selling our condo in San Diego and needed to move everything to a storage unit in Imperial CA. I checked with someone in San Diego and they seemed a little high and I'm not sure they even knew where Imperial was. I looked on line and saw Big Guy Movers had some good reviews so I called Eddie the owner and he said he could do it within the time frame I needed, also he was cheaper. Long story short he was great, they showed up on time in San Diego, packed up all my stuff, didn't break anything, or do any damage to the condo. I met them in Imperial and they unloaded quickly and stacked everything neatly. The one above and beyond the call of duty thing they did is my stepson wanted our king size bed and some other stuff. I asked Eddie if he would leave that stuff on the truck and take it to my stepsons house, it wasn't far away, less than a mile. Eddie said sure no problem, took the stuff out of the truck and into the house. Nobody's perfect so I have to say I was a bit worried when Eddie didn't always answer the phone when I called. He was working I know but for a while I was worried about their scheduling. Turned out no worry. Eddie and Willi are top notch, came out in 115 degree heat and worked from 9am until 2am the next morning. Didn't say no to anything I asked, didn't scratch scuff or even remotely damage any of my belongings and they filled 2 26' trucks. Some of these reviews on here are ridiculous, they moved me to Yuma in the dead of summer and was cheaper then any other service provider of this caliber. Not to mention they used a Uhaul, which is bonded and insured which made me feel good about them moving my stuff from one state to another. They aren't here to rob you and take your money, upfront about all expenses and charges, there were no surprises when it came time to settle up the bill. I used the services of Big Guy Movers in El Centro, CA. Eddie was my point of contact. When starting business with Eddie, he communicated very clearly that they have a two hour minimum. Knowing this, what was originally supposed to be a relatively small job turned into a medium sized job. We planned and coordinated with Eddie and they were able to haul away a lot of junk from my house/garage in that two hour minimum span to the Salvation Army. They are very efficient! They were able to do the job next day too! On the day of the job, there was a small bump in the road, Eddie called early and let me know that they had issues renting their U-Haul. Eddie and his guy really came through for me. They showed up when they said they would. Had the truck loaded up within a two-hour time frame. let me tell you Eddie is a man! He got my two bedroom townhouse couch, large entertainment center, full-size bed, twin bed, washer and dryer plus all my boxes into a 15 foot truck and let me tell you I really thought when they started loading the truck there was no way they were going to get everything into it. I was totally stressing and Eddie assured me he would get everything on the truck. I was doubtful but happily in the end I was wrong and he did get everything into that truck and nothing got damaged in the move. Eddie and Will were very professional, timely, and courteous, too. Eddie touched bases with us the night before the move; in the morning of moving day while getting the truck, and as he was approaching our house. My husband is disabled and uses a walker; we explained that we couldn't go get the packing material for our mattress and TVs. Eddie offered to pick them up for us, and we reimbursed him. They worked methodically and carefully to wrap the furniture with plastic to protect it and load the truck. They paid attention to our requests and complied. The gentlemen arrived on time and ready to work. They were courteous, well mannered, very respectful, and yet humorous and outgoing. Given our situation, it was absolutely appropriate and needed. Really impressed with Eddie and his partner with organizing and making everything fit in one trip. Good working skills and customer service, funny out going guys. Protect all my furniture, wrap my glass and my 3 65" tvs. Driving me from El Centro, Ca to Foothill, Az. When I search around I call multiple companies. one didn't answer, the other one said he will call back and he did few days later when I already moved. We requested three movers for five hours to help us unload two 40' containers. The scheduled time was from 1:30 to 6:30 pm but the unexpected happened. Our two trucks were stuck in the desert sand due to a GPS route error and delayed the time by 4 hours. It was a stressful situation for both the movers and us but Eddie remained patient the entire time. The trucks eventually got out and the unloading was successful. We paid an extra $150 but it was well worth it considering the alternatives. Incredible patience from Eddie and always kept contact on the phone. Definitely recommend him and his crew! We recently used Eddie and his team at Big Guy Movers for the second time this year and were so glad we did. As with the first time they kept us abreast of their arrival time as an earlier move had delayed them more than anticipated. Having said that they were very professional, and worked very hard to make up for lost time. Even though we went into the evening there were no complaints of how difficult this move was because of the steps up to the house from the road. This guys are amazing. Eddie and his crew above and beyond. I hire them for long distance service from Imperial, Can to Orange County. They disassemble my furniture, plastic wrap, took care of my belongings and load, drive and unload everything same day. I read the reviews online and yes we have a lot of Karens in the valley. Give these guys a break, if you can't afford a service or you think it's too expensive do it yourself. Yes they are call estimates and yes sometimes hrs extras are required to finish the job grow up. We moved in town from Imperial to the Navy base and had a great experience with Eddie and Big Guy Movers. We did our own packing and just needed helping loading and unloading boxes and a lot of large furniture due to my husband having a shoulder injury. HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!! I booked them through U-Haul and an hour before they were suppose to help me load up I received a call they couldn't make it. I had just pulled up to my house and ended up loading up everything myself and had to beg some friends to help me. Eddie told me I would receive a refund which I never received so I disputed the transaction. They are fighting the dispute so as of now I am out $160 dollars and they did nothing to earn any of that money. U-Haul is doing nothing but I'm continuing the fight! DO NOT HIRE THEM!!! Second, on the day of the move, they brought their own rental truck, handled everything carefully and easily managed the whole move in just one trip. Highly recommended by neighbors however when i've called them to the 2 different phone numbers, Eddie comes on asking to leave a message. The recording ends and the system says: MAILBOX FULL _ GOODBYE I've called everyday the same. I found them under another name - Good Movers with different phone numbers but same recording. Box also full. I went to the web and entered two online requests with no calls. I think they are out of business or not returning calls because they don't want anymore business for now.
