My mom & I needed a lot of help moving out of our home and into a new home. From Holtville to El Centro, so not too far. These guys did it all for us- provided boxes/tape/wrap/etc. and packed all our stuff. It took 4 days to do it (big 3 bedroom house) and they got it all packed up for us, loaded into trucks at point A and unloaded at point B. They took apart shelves, hauled a refrigerator and washer/dryer, heavy mattresses... they did a TON of work. I am forever grateful that they offered this service. In 110°F heat and intense humidity, these guys worked without complaint. Eddie is such a nice hardworking guy and the two workers he has (Alexis & Lalo) were equally friendly and helpful. This is a late review for our move back in June of this year. We hired Big Guy Movers to help us move from Imperial to Brawley. I have to give them 1 star. During the move, not only were some of our items damaged during the move, our floors were scuffed and walls were dented. Mind you, we purchased a new construction home so damage from prior owners is not possible. We understand that things and accidents happen, however, when my husband reached out to the owner regarding our broken TV, we initially received a response and were told we'd receive a replacement TV. It was 4th of July weekend and days went by without any update as to when we'd receive the TV. We figured they were busy and gave another day before reaching out. Eventually the owner did respond and said he'd be by that afternoon to drop off our TV. Did he show up? No, of course not. Did he respond to other messages? No, of course not. I was very dissatisfied with their service. I canceled on them two times because of my financial situation and because I couldn't get a U-Haul. when I finally did, I let them know and they were on another job. They said they would be at my old address about 3 o'clock, but they would let me know. I waited until 5 o'clock that afternoon before they showed up. was able to get a 10 foot U-Haul truck that was in my budget. I had already paid U-Haul for the big guys movers services . I am 58 years old. I really needed someone to help me move because of the heavy stuff.. I had an exercise bike, 2 tables, one small kitchen table with four chairs 55 inch TV a big living room mirror and about seven containers two end tables and two lamps and my grandson's toys. I believe all of that would've fit in the truck. All they did was complain. The whole time that I should've got a bigger truck because it had a ramp. they did not pack the truck right so all my stuff didn't fit in the truck that took them about 45 minutes to we drove 18 miles to my new apartment, which was upstairs. they said to unload it was a different service even though I didn't use the whole two hours that I paid for so I paid them another $85 plus $25 so the total was $270. I still haven't moved all my containers my end tables my two little lamps my tv my big mirror or my grandsons toys from my old apartment. They are still there. Ordered through Uhaul as a third party service, I reached out the morning of, only to find out BIG GUY had no intention of ever completing my order. "Too far" is what the guy told me, which might be understandable if they would have reached out to me on any given day, I ordered 10 days before day of service. I'm very upset with this company I had read good reviews and when I hired them to move my stuff they were very unprofessional a lot of my furniture is damaged and when I spoke to the manager about this he ignored me then he says he'll text be back that he's doing business I'm like ok and what is this this is business he's only going to give me $50 for the damage and it's going to cost me more than $50 to replace everything they broke. One of my brand new console tables drawer is broken because one the "profesionally trained" movers decided to carry it by the knob of a drawer and im not a professional but I do know that's not how you carry items especially something heavy like that. The manager stated that my furniture was already damaged trying to cover for his employees when that furniture didn't have any damaged He texted me this " Yeah im sorry I can't do that. The labor service was provided. I can't give you all your money back. What I can do is work with you and reimburse you $45-50dllrs. I scheduled moving labor with Big Guy Movers through UHaul in Yuma for a very simple 2 hour job. I got 3 texts confirming my move and my account was charged for the full cost of the job. Trouble is, the day of the move no one showed up, no one called and I called, was told to text a reply, I sent 3 texts and no one responded. I ended up helping my son move big pieces of furniture out of our house and storage locker to his new house and I have a very bad back that the whole event caused me to be out of commission for days and in a great deal of pain. My husband and I hired Big Guy Movers through Uhaul, I personally spoke to Eddie 5 days before the move date. We confirmed date, time and address. No one showed, we had a 26 ft. Uhaul with no one to load it. After 3 hours Eddie finally called back stating he did not have a job that morning and I failed to confirm, I reminded him that we spoke on the 19th, all he could say was he was in Yuma and would "try" to get someone. I hired 2 men for 2 hours to help me move. It was a 121 degree day in Palm Desert. I called the night before and confirmed that they would be at the house at 1pm. They asked if we could change the time to earlier because of the heat. As much as I would have liked to I had a schedule to maintain and needed the help at 1pm. I had 2 guys and 1 was a bit on the larger side and one one on the bigger side (not criticizing, bigger is better) however, the bigger guy was doing 90% of the work. The ad says you'll get a response within 2 hours. I called and left voicemails and emailed through yelp. Never got a 2 hour response. In fact the last time I left a voicemail I took it as a bad sign that Eddie was not returning my calls. Went on google and saw lots of other people had same problems. Decided to go with Help You Move instead and they have been awesome. Showed up 10 minutes early. Had my 3 bedroom loaded in 2 hours. Communication is part of good customer service. read more

It got pretty late for them and they weren't being grumpy which was nice because I was starting to worry they were going to call it a night before finishing. The only thing is I wish they could have picked up the uhaul and picked up the storage key in advance so that I didn't have to. These guys are very good movers. Returned my phone call same day with a quote. Stairs are tough but they can handle them. Price includes truck rental and they can make multiple trips if you want. They used shrink wrap on some of our loose items which worked great. I will definitely recommend them to others. They also do long distance moves which is nice. read more

If I could give these guys a big fat zero star rating - I would. They were scheduled to deliver a Ubox for us through Moving Services. When they didn't show up 45 minutes after they were supposed to arrive, we called them. Eddie told me that he was sorry but he missed our order and didn't see it until I called. As a result he couldn't pick up our box and we were basically screwed. We had a flight out the next day and were left high and dry. He offered no solutions. I was quoted $360 to pack and move a one bedroom apartment and $240 to move if I packed. I went with the pack and move options. Half way through the move Eddie came and said it was going to cost $800. Long story short, it took two of his guys 4 hours to pack a kitchen and I was charged $600 and I had to move the rest of my things myself. Very disappointed in the service. read more
