Amazing food in a super casual atmosphere. Loved this place ! Four of us ordered different…read moreentrees. All were total perfection. Obviously made with care and attention to good ingredients and prepared perfectly. Huge portions with enough to take home for another meal. Generous side salad at an extra, but fair price. Hot rolls with butter. Pasta dishes were amazing and the scallops were plentiful and cooked just right. Friendly service and fun, but rustic atmosphere. If you want fancy dancy go elsewhere, but if you want down-to-earth folks doing a great job providing excellent food go here !!

Another hidden gem!…read more Tucked away at the north end of Champ's Campground & RV Park, Champ's Corner Restaurant serves up a variety of homecooked meals in an intimate casual laid back atmosphere. The light background music from Frank Sinatra Radio plays over the speakers, relaxing and not too loud. The dining room has a homey feel which is decorated which is dimly lit with plenty of old framed pictures on the walls, antiques, a few holiday lights, a couch next to a lighted angel, and a concrete floor. There are a few tables for large and small parties, a high top table and seating (6 high seats) with flatscreen TV and QuickDraw monitor at the corner bar. The menu offerings include appetizers, soups, salads, pasta dishes, chicken, steaks, seafood, desserts, soft drinks, beer & wine, plus a children's menu (12 & under). They also offer daily specials and the prices are fair. Each meal is prepared fresh to order. After driving back home from the North Country, I stopped by Champ's Corner Pub & Grill for dinner, at a campground of all places. I took a peek at the specials board near the front counter and took a seat at an open table. There were two large parties of older folks already enjoying drinks and dinner and a couple sitting at the bar. The server walked over with a menu and took my drink order (ice water). For a starter, the Wedge Salad ($7.95 plus tax), had a crisp iceberg wedge, topped with bleu cheese dressing, bleu cheese crumbles, bacon bits, chives and cherry tomato slices on each corner of the square plate. This wedge was a good sized and very good starter salad. A warm dinner roll with butter was served too. For dinner, I ordered the Baked Halibut Special ($22.95 plus tax) served with baked potato with butter & sour cream, fresh steamed green beans and lemon wedge. The halibut was a good size piece, thick, soft and flaky. The baked potato was very hot, already topped with butter, sour cream on the side. The green beans were nice and firm. I finished my big plate of food, but I had to pass on dessert. The check was $33.06 with tax and before tip. Overall, an excellent dinner with adequate service. I did have to wait a bit (12 minutes for the wedge and another 15 minutes for my dinner entree) since there was a large party that just ordered dinner as I arrived for dinner. I would definitely recommend stopping in here for a sold good homecooked dinner.

They were voted 2019 #2 Best Restaurant in the Rutland area and I think they were robbed. My husband began the night by choosing a menu option that allows customers to buy the back of the house staff a round of cream ale which causes them to erupt in kitchenware percussion and celebratory hooting. The Potato Leek soup was velvety and delicious. They served us the best fried Brussel Sprouts that I have ever eaten. They were crispy, well seasoned and the aioli was also good but they didn't even need it. I am not much of a drinker but their specialty margarita was so well made (and strong) that had I not already gotten quite precious after the first one, I would have ordered another. My husband liked the cauliflower, squash mac and cheese special. My mushroom ravioli with capers and cream sauce were also delicious. We finished up with a house made lemon-lime cheese cake. Usually, citrus is not welcome in my dessert. I prefer chocolates, cookies and caramels in my cheesecake. I want to know that my Diabetic Ketoacidosis Emergency admission to a backwater hospital was well earned. However, it was delicious. The service was friendly and unpretentious, in my adorable, slightly drunken state I became absolutely thrilled when one of the waitresses was publicly gifted with a Plague Doctor Squishable (look them up). I ordered mine in September and cannot wait to receive it. I felt an immediate, margarita and plague doctor inspired, affinity We'll be back

There are dart boards and shuffleboard table, which were not in use. Our server was attentive and friendly, as were other staff we interacted with. Beer menu is extensive as you would imagine from the name, and they also have a separate cocktail menu (but we did try). Food was very good. I had The Cask. As long as you like goat cheese, you should like this sandwich. I loved it. Other meals included the pulled pork sandwich and Reuben. All were good. The order of garlic and rosemary fries are very crispy - good for snack or just pair with some beers. Overall, decent place and service. I would return!

We stumbled in for a late bite on a quiet winter carnival weekend and there were only a handful of patrons, mostly locals sitting at the bar. The bartender (and our server) Edward was friendly and kept an eye on us and made sure we had what we needed. The food is solidly average pub fare, not bad and perfectly serviceable, but it shouldn't be your primary objective if you're a foodie hunter like me. But on a main drag littered mostly with mediocre bar-restaurants charging tourist prices for tourist indifference, I'll take "just fine" as a win. I'm not much of a drinker but my husband liked his can of Copper Legend lager so much that he ordered another one to go. The location is conveniently central especially if you're staying on Canada St. or doing activities at the lake.
