Memorial Day weekend and we ordered the big Eddy smash burgers. Incredibly delicious with choice of cheese and comes with tomatoes, pickles, onions, bacon, mushrooms, and jalapeños! It's a tradition that we stop at Big Eddy's on our way to the CSKT Bison Range. We split the prime rib dip sandwich, and it's always delicious. We found a new menu this year, and they have dropped the name "Campbell's Original Roast Dip," but the sandwich is still there. I'm sure other items are good, but the Roast Dip is our favorite. My husband and I each enjoyed an excellent smash burger (BBQ bacon and jalapeño). All toppings were extremely fresh and the burger patties were generous. We loved the fries, as well. The food...went to dinner there this evening. January 6th 2026. Monday. As the waitress we love was there,we were expecting a decent dinner. Apparently there is a new "cook". The simplest of food was horrible. Each item we ordered. The chicken bacon ranch salad,burnt bacon,cold chicken. Fish and chips,fish was raw and those skinny fries,aweful. We were pulling a trailer so stopped at the first parking we saw. Bid Eddy's was across the street so we gave it a shot. Terrific service, a nice selection of cold beer, and the food was excellent. If you find yourself in Thompson Falls, you will find there aren't many good options. Although Big Eddy's looks promising I promise you the service was horrendous. Our first warning should have been they were out of fries. Looking past the over charging of our meals which we were told "you can figure it out. It's no big deal". The waitress coughed in my face and on my food then had the audacity to comment on my tipping 10% saying "I must have been pretty shitty". Needless to say the service was the worst part but the food was average at best and the restaurant was dingy and claustrophobic. Do yourself a favor and grab a snack at the gas station and get a real meal in Missoula. read more

There aren't a lot of other dining options in the Trout Creek and Thompson Falls areas so I chose to stop by here. There's a nice patio outside that overlooks the water for when the weather is nice. I walked in the door and sat down at a table, and it was probably about 10 minutes before one of the workers acknowledged me. I initially just order a shot of whiskey ($4) which was warm and not appetizing at all. I also ordered the Big Eddy's margarita ($7) which was decent and not as tart as other margaritas that I've had. You can't really taste the tequila so either they do a good job of hiding it or there isn't much in the drink to begin with. For food I ordered the bacon mushroom swiss ($12.75) which was okay and nothing special. There wasn't much mushroom in the burger at all. The weirdest thing is that they use diced tomatoes and diced onions in the burger instead of slices which I just found odd. I was not a fan of it at all because you don't get a little bit of tomato and onion in every bite like you would do a sliced one. I did like the fries though; they're shoestrings so they're thin like how I like them. They're well seasoned and there are a lot of them too, but that's really the only positive of this meal. I found the food and drink a bit pricy for the quality that you get. You won't find many other food options but that doesn't mean you should lower your standards. read more

Came here for a late lunch and they did not disappoint. They have beers on tap and cocktails as well. I got a burger and my wife ordered the campbells roast dip. Big Eddy's has evolved poorly over the years. My first review was glowing. In the past, they were our favorite stop on our way back and forth to the lake. They had delicious offerings for a small town. Now they serve a very different menu. Just visited for lunch. Had the roast beef sandwich. The meat was absolute mush. Served on a very soft ciabatta bun made for a sloppy eating experience. The fries had an old oil flavor and beyond that, no seasoning. Ranking the fries would be impossible, they are not worth it. Service was good. Our group unanimously, and sadly decided it was one of the worst lunches, and especially for the money. It's a bit sad to write a review like this, they are clearly poorly operated and I won't be shocked if they close their doors in short time. Tragic. read more
