Making our way from Spokane to Glacier National Park, on a road trip with our pups, my husband and I decided to stop for lunch at Winki's Diner. We appreciated that they had ample outdoor seating so that we could enjoy our meal while our pups could take a break from the car. We placed our order for some breaded mushrooms, two huckleberry shakes, a Bigfoot burger and a good ol' frosty burger. Despite being very busy, the service was fast! The breaded mushrooms were perfectly breaded, and a nice little treat to accompany our burgers. My burger was juicy and piled high with delicious toppings, and cooked to perfection. And to wash it all down, the huckleberry shake was absolutely delicious smooth and creamy. This is just a good old-fashioned diner and the kind of spot you dream of stopping when you're on a road trip. So if you find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and come here for a bite to eat. read more

This little 50's style diner is our favorite food stop enroute from western WA to eastern MT. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, fish & chips basket, a chicken strip basket and a DELICIOUS chocolate peanut butter malted milkshake. It was ALL very good & with average prices. Dining room was clean as well as the outdoor seating. Fast service! We placed our order and went out outside, but the local bees and flies let us know right away that they would be expecting us to share. So back in we went, just as our waitress had our food, ready to deliver. It's summer so they have powerful fans to keep it comfortable inside (although they're pretty loud!). We loved the 50's style music playing. Just a fun stop with great food. We'll be back whenever we come through. read more

For a quick lunch stop, Winki's fits the bill. Stopped here because we heard their Huckleberry Shake was good. It was. Exit 33 on I-90 means one thing to us... Huckleberry Shakes. The burger was a throwback to our youthful addiction to Mom & Pop cafe burgers & fries. This joint had both of us reaching into our pockets looking for change to plug into the juke box. Hit up Winki's diner drive thru for a quick bite on our way through town to Glacier NP. I had a corn dog that was the best corn dog in a long time! It came piping hot and cooked perfectly. Bravo!!! Hubby had a burger and he said it was like an old fashioned burger like we use to find. (Not these fast food garbage burgers. ) they were pretty quick for cooking fresh. Stopped by yesterday for a quick bite. Bought two milkshakes (huckleberry and chocolate) and some waffle fries. All three were excellent. Staying at a campground near St Regis it was convenient for an after dinner drive or quick bite. Located on exit 33 would recommend the lil diner! Fresh food and good customer service. I'm normally not one to pull over at random pit stops based on incessant billboard advertising but today I went against the grain and took a chance on Winki's Diner. The billboards had advertised the Huckleberry Milkshakes and after a six hour drive this thing absolutely hit the spot. We split the burger and it was pretty good, the waffle fries and fry sauce were on point (HOT out the fryer). The staff was very friendly and they kept the place clean, bonus point win for a pit stop diner off of I-90. This review is purely based on customer service because we did not get a chance to eat, which was disappointing. As a former server, I very much dislike when people show up shortly before closing, but we always made it a point to serve them with a good attitude. Unfortunately, we had been on the road for several hours, so we got to Winki's 6 minutes before closing. They already had the kitchen shut down and cleaned up, so they would not serve us. We just happened to stop for gas and saw the diner and decided on a quick burger. Not the quickest but wow was it worth it. I got the Bacon Guac Burger and my boyfriend got the Bigfoot Burger. Both were simply phenomenal. HIGHLY recommend it, you won't regret it. read more

Driving from Glacier NP heading west, saw Winki's Diner in St Regis. Order at drive-through window or inside at counter. We went inside. Cheerful and helpful staff. Various burgers, including buffalo. Rest rooms are very clean. We ordered two different kinds of burgers and they were delicious. The fries were perfect. Fry sauce and ranch are made on-site. Pleasant and clean seating area. Not fast food prices. I got a $6 huckleberry shake for the road after I learned they use real huckleberries to make a syrup. Very delicious! read more

This was a hard review to write. Normally - when I review a place it is based mostly on the service (good or bad). My server here was 5 star. But the problem is: they're just terrible cooks. First the good: As mentioned, server was excellent. Vibrant, happy and helpful. Give this girl a raise. Also - I had a Huckleberry shake that was pretty damn good. Those are the reasons for the 2 stars I give this place. Now the bad: It's expensive. $36 for breakfast for two is what we pay at large fancy restaurants. But Winki's wants that for a breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito (along with a couple of shakes). But we paid figuring we were in store for something special. The first clue something wicked was brewing in that kitchen was the smell. The stench of lard just wafted out the drive-thru window every time she would open it. Next clue? When the food was ready and she handed it to me - the paper bag it came in was stained from all the grease. Yes - totally saturated through with grease. Unwrapping the hot mess that was meant to be our breakfast yielded why. The grease soaked blobs of food mass were literally DRIPPING with lard. If the appearance was bad - taking a bite of it just made matters worse. Gross would be a compliment compared to whatever it was were were trying to ingest. Neither of us could get half-way through our food before tossing it back in the saturated bag. Maybe their burgers are better. Hard to screw up a burger. But breakfast? Don't go there, man. read more

Meat wasnt that great but the burgers were quick coming out. This is our second time here and last time customer service wasnt great. I asked for her to dump out my ice and give me a refill and she gave me a death stare as she put soda in it. Today the customer service was entirely diferent. This girl, i think her name was angela, was running food out to cars, across the street, to the tables outside, and it was pouring cats and dogs. She came backed soaked every time. She even told me to sit down so she can grab our waters and bring it to the table. The only problem was the meat wasnt seasoned. So great customer service one day, horrible the next. So disappointing. Thought we would try the diner instead of Hucks grill because it wouldn't be as crowded. Wrong move. 75- for 4 people for fast food. Service was ok, burgers were ok. Corn dog burnt.
