Pure comfort food! Pictured is a dinner roll as big as a loaf of bread. See salt shaker for perspective.

Decent enough, but in need of updating. Room was clean, wi-fi worked ok. We visited during very hot weather, and the air conditioner had no problems keeping things comfy. Shower had the water pressure of a fire hose, and could not be adjusted down. I loved it; the GF did not. I swear it could strip paint. Restaurant was a bit of an oddity. Pure comfort food on the menu, just don't stop by if you're in a hurry. Food is fresh, and prepared to order, but it does take time. Be careful when ordering a dinner roll; it's almost the size of a loaf of bread. The cinnamon rolls would have problems fitting into a man's shoe box, they're so big. Prices are very affordable, food good, service a bit slow, but friendly.

Clean bedding is non existent. Way, way over priced . Hard worthless beds. Would rather walk to the next town than stay there again.

After spending the morning on winter tubing down Silver Mountain, our group…read moreof 7 was ready for a bite and a brew. We arrived around 1230PM, and the restaurant was relatively dead - which can be a plus for those seeking a food spot at the base of the mountain, rather than the top. Our server welcomed us and led us to a larger table which fit our party perfectly, directly near the windows to witness the snow falling. He allowed us to search the menu before taking our orders. We opted for rounds of water and brews for the adults and sprite/juice for the kiddos. I was impressed by the massive NA beer list, which was lengthy and filled with variety. I chose the Deschutes hazy IPA which was tasted perfect! My sister and cousin opted for seasonal beers and seem happy with their choices. Seeking something warm for the belly, I opted for a burger - loaded with locally made huckleberry jam, bacon and cheese - which was average at best. The burger was overcooked, leaving the meat dry and lacking flavor. The fries on the other hand, were delicious and double fried. YUM! The kids were mildly impressed with their meals, while my sister, cousin and her husband seemed to enjoy their burgers. We had to remind our server about the need for water, sides of ranch and ketchup (since nothing was on the table) and split our checks in the end with no issue. Pricing was slightly elevated - but expected in a resort type atmosphere - but for the quality, I left like EH. I didn't take the remaining half of my burger with me but left with a full belly. If in the area again for an outing, I think I'd try elsewhere before returning.

Food was meh, from the freezer to the fryer. Service... well, it wasn't great. Really dislike having to ask for things multiple times, especially when we were literally one of two table in entire place. Biggest annoyance- incorrect menu, many things no longer available. He was able to give it back for them to cook more. It ended up being good. My chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes had gravy on it that tasted like it came from a packet, not to mention that the potatoes tasted like they had chopped up real potatoes and added them to instant potatoes. A soup or salad as well as a dinner roll was included, but the soup, Tomato soup, tasted like pizza sauce, and the salad had about three different toppings to choose from. So not impressive. And we never did get our dinner roll. A dessert was included, but the server took our dinner plates away and never offered the choices for dessert. She was gone for 10 to 15 minutes at a time without checking on us. She brought us our bill and we had to actually ask for the dessert that was included. It ended up that the desserts we requested were not available. Due to the lack of options, the server was nice enough to subtract one of the entrees from our dinner bill. The server was nice but unknowledgeable of what meals the restaurant was out of, how often to come and check on us, or how to communicate with us regarding the bill (we didn't know that we had to go up front to pay, so we sat for 15 minutes and had to call her over). We will never eat here again.

Comparing it to a local restaurant would be unfair, so I'm only comparing it to other McDonalds. That said, this is one of the best McDonalds that I have the pleasure of eating at frequently. They almost always get my order exactly right and when they don't, they're quick to fix whatever is missing. The people who work here are extremely friendly and super willing to take care of their customers. One of the guys who works here will literally regularly SPRINT outside to bring you your food if the lines are long, making sure you're not waiting too long. I've never had any problems with cleanliness or overflowing trash like some of the other reviews mention. It might have been a fluke when they came in--this is the only fast food restaurant we have in the Silver Valley (unless you count Subway, which I really don't.) That does mean this McDonalds is a hot spot for every school bus coming through, or caravan, and I've heard that it's not unusual for them to receive orders of 100+ items at a time. They're conveniently located right off the highway and right next to a gas station if you needed a top off. I know no one goes to a McDonalds for the stunning view, but I will say that the parking lot has a wonderful vantage of Silver Mountain and there's something magical and a little silly about slamming back a Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit while watching the morning fog roll off the mountain all lit up in gold from the rising sun. You gotta appreciate beauty everywhere, even in unlikely places. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you'll even get to watch some local wild turkeys argue with some local wild crows about who gets to finish off your fries.
