A happy shoutout to Brooks Hotel in Wallace Idaho! Clean, inexpensive and very accessible with the nicest staff you could hope for, a restaurant/lounge in-house and plenty of eateries and bars within a short walk. Our impromptu visit will lead to longer, planned stays! The self check-in made arrival so convenient, and the "Americana" breakfast menu in the restaurant was the perfect send-off. 10 of 10 will visit again!

I've never stayed in a hotel where hot water was not guaranteed, until now. We love the town of Wallace and will go back but never will we stay at the Brooks Hotel again. First off the smokers from the bar below go outside your window to smoke. We were on the third floor and you could still smell the smoke. But the bigger problems are yet to come. At 9am we went to take a shower....no hot water. I went to the front desk and the woman told me there was nothing they could do about it. She was rude and not accommodating at all. She agreed to take $25 dollars off the bill but she was not even nice about it. So we get done taking two cold showers and I look at the towel I'm supposed to dry off with and there are brown stains all over the towel. Yep, brown stains the towel is filthy, never washed I'm sure. When I went to turn in my key I was not happy. I took the towel and showed her and her face showed fear. I didn't ask for anything and the woman looked super nervous. So what's the first thing she says to me? "If you'd been nicer I could have done more for you." I couldn't believe it. I said "when I came down about the hot water I was irritated but nice but now when I find a brown stained towel and you respond like this, I'm not nice anymore." We will go back to Wallace it's a great town but do yourself a favor, find a place that guarantees a hot shower, and apparently that is not the Brooks Hotel. It's sad the people who own it are trying to renovate the place and make it nicer and it is.....but if you can't treat people right, a remodel is not going to help you.

    So much good food!

Friendly waitstaff, nice air conditioned dining room, and delicious breakfast choices await you at the Brooks Hotel restaurant. The Breakfast Burrito, Avocado Toast, Traditional Breakfast, and Huckleberry Pancakes were all excellent choices and my group loved the food. I would definitely recommend this place when visiting Wallace.

    Good tasty coffee

The waitress was wonderful. The eggs Benedict were excellent. Thick ham steak. The cheeseburger was very good.

Had breakfast here this morning. The updated dining room is gorgeous. Food was excellent, especially the hash browns. Friendly service.

Great standard american breakfasts. Their $5 burger meal is a perfect lunch at an awesome value.

Nice staff and bonfires on site with complimentary "smores kits," they even give out sticks you can use to roast the marshmallows over the fire. Office is closed after 10pm, so plan accordingly. I initially gave the Stardust 3/5 stars as we drove back to our home at 2am because neither of us could sleep on the very firm and uncomfortable mattress, the pillows felt like rolled up newspapers. But I liked the overall aesthetic and vibe. However I'm lowering to 2/5 after communicating this issue to the hotel, on the phone they said they had no idea the beds were uncomfortable. Then in response to this review they informed us that the beds in the "classic rooms" are not as comfortable as the beds and pillows in the "signature rooms." If we had known this when booking we would have paid more and reserved a signature room. The owners response was to essentially blame us for booking a "cheap" room and suggest we should have somehow known their standard rooms have terrible beds. The real issue is that NO room should have mattresses so uncomfortable that guests flee the motel at 2am. The room in general was clean, would have appreciated USB chargers or at least an outlet on both bedside tables instead of just the one. If they invested in better mattresses and pillows this would have been a 5/5 star review. If they had been less tone-deaf and responded better to our issues I would have kept the review at 3/5.

Easy walking to everywhere downtown and the shop owners were not only nice, but also raved about Kimberly and the motel. So glad we got to spend the night at the Stardust and Wallace.

We were on our way to Billings, Montana with our four children at the beginning of January, 2003,…read morein the evening, during a blizzard. I was six months pregnant, and driving conditions were horrible so we had to stop. This was the only motel which had a vacancy. I waited in our minivan with the children while my hubby got us a room. I was exhausted, and the kids were tired and hungry. All I wanted was a warm, clean bed to sleep in. The lady at the front desk was really nice. She showed us to our room, and gave us a little history about the place. This was a silver mining town, and a woman by the name of Molly was a "lady of the evening" here. Also, she told us that the room had recently been "rented by the month" by some men who worked in the town. She explained to us, before we saw the room, that this room was called the "Silver" room. "Hmmm", I thought, "a themed motel". She gave us our keys, and my hubby opened the door. I was literally in shock! Everything in the room had been spray-painted SILVER! The lamps, tables; EVERYTHING! The heat was completely turned off, so the room was FREEZING! There was a small heater on the wall next to the window, so my husband immediately turned it on for us. The dust ruffle to the bed was STAPLED TO THE CEILING above each bed! The floor was filthy. Our "closet" consisted of a wire hanger hanging from a nail on the wall. I was in dire need of using the restroom, so headed there next before I complained about the room to my hubby. The bathroom was filthy. So filthy, in fact, that they put a rubbermaid dish drainer rack on the shower floor so you could stand on it while taking a shower. It was old, moldy and FILTHY! I didn't even want to touch the faucet to wash my hands. The children begann to take their shoes off - that's when I had a hissy-fit. No way would I allow my children to walk barefoot or even in their stocking feet on this carpeting! We hurried and got them ready for bed, THEN took off their shoes once in their bed. After I cried for a long time, I put my coat and mittens back on, and left go sleep in our minivan. My hubby immediately followed me outside, as we still had blizzard conditions, and brought me back inside. Needless to say, I slept with all of my clothes on, and we didn't take showers the next morning. This was the most horrible place I've ever stayed in my entire life! I'm a very down-to-earth person, and I would have rather stayed in a tent than here. This is a completely honest review. Be warned: DO NOT STAY!
