I have had BBQ all over the USA.. everywhere. The pulled pork i just had was the best pulled pork I have ever eaten. Their tangy sweet sour. BBQ sauce was perfect! Im coming back later for dinner...

    Awful so called salad

The food is not bad but the standards for cleanliness is very low. My table had some dried food stuck to it but was not bad, so I didn't think too much of it. I then accidentally saw what was lurking underneath the paper of the trays on which the food is served, absolute disgrace if you ask me and a health hazard. The bathrooms are also an awful design, no space to rest your bag, so it's a struggle to apply makeup etc. The salad that came with my meal ( pictured) also looks so bad, I didn't even bother eating it. Nothing but a bunch of old leaves tossed in a bowl. I will not be back here. The mini Donuts were nice though and the calamari and stuffed peppers.

Food was not great. Barbecue chicken was totally dry. Lobster roll was pure mayonnaise. Never got a chance for a drink refill the hour and a half we were there so ate without drinks. Gave up on ordering dessert. They weren't understaffed. They put everyone without reservations in two jammed sections then mostly ignored us. We walked around at 8:00 pm and most of the rest of the place was empty. I won't go back. Life music was great though.

Tasty lunch. Ok, this isn't your mom's backyard BBQ session but it was tasty. We had the Grand Appetiser. I also had the hot & spicy mussels (could be spicier for me and that goes for the voodoo sauce on the wings) Yummy!

Ribs and shrimp with skillet Mac & cheese

Disclaimer: Born in Texas, USA and raised in Louisiana. My expectations for BBQ or any New Orleans themed restaurants are pretty high and possibly unrealistic/unfair. I will try to be objective. The Good: The Banana Cream Pie was delicious with a tiny hint of chocolate and soft bananas. The jumbo shrimp which went with the BBQ ribs were very tasty. The fried shrimp was huge and we brought some home. The Skillet Mac & Cheese was "ok," but it was lacking a bit of flavor. The BBQ Ribs were ok, but also lacked some flavor. I guess I was expecting a bit more in the way of sauce and seasoning. You get a good bit of food for the price, but I wasn't overly impressed with everything. The Bad: What the heck is the deal with service at some of these restaurants?! The server had a weird abrasiveness to him which I can't place origin. With this having happened at multiple locations, I think it might just be my expectations. However, the restaurant is called "Big Easy," and one thing that we Louisianians are known for is our southern hospitality. I didn't feel any of that here. Also, the interior was catered more to Texas than anything! There wasn't one thing in there that made me think of New Orleans, except some of the music. Overall, the food was ok "3," the service (2) was "meh," and the decor was confusing. I think that a "3" is pretty fitting for the experience.

Very popular restaurant especially with the bottomless brunch offer at the weekend between 12-4pm If you're a tea totaller or driving there a plenty of other options available based around BBQ food. The food is very tasty, portion sizes are generous and our waiter Bruno was very helpful.  Recommend booking, certainly at the weekend.

Staying at the Marriott across the way, it was super late and everywhere else was closed on a Monday night. We didn't know what to expect but happy we took our chances on this place. My wife got the double bacon cheese burger and I got the 1.5 pound lobster, all the food came out hot and the fries seems like they were right out the grease! Just like I like it! Wished I could have tried the BBQ but I didn't want to be greedy! It smelled great tho! Great experience and I would come back if I were near here...

We had a really great night at The Big Easy! The food was amazing, and the waitress gave us a few tips on how to get more for our money which is always a plus! The Big Easy beer was far better than I'd thought it'd be! Was really shocked with how little it came to per head as we'd had a lot of food and a few pints each. Love the decor! If you go make sure you look out for my business card on the wall ;)

Biggest bar selection I've ever seen
    Lynn C.

The bar alone at the Big Easy is worth going. They have every bottle imaginable and the servers need to climb onto the rack to look super carefully before finding what they're looking for. The wine cabinets on the top hidden behind the drinks menus is temperature regulated. Live band playing in the corner with the gorgeous view of the wharf! What a great place to drink and hang out. Food, on the other hand, isn't phenomenal like the atmosphere. Great prices for lobsters and shellfish and many options for southern American BBQ, but the general taste is subpar. We started with the mussels in white wine sauce and my bf ordered a whole lobster while I ordered their crab bake that's similar to a cioppino but with southern spices. It had crab legs, mussels, clams, and shrimps. The flavour was okay but not cooked into the potatoes or the seafood. The garlic butter was great but all the seafood was just not that fresh tasting. I had a couple of bites of the ribs that my friends ordered and I was overall unimpressed - the meat was tender but not juicy and the spices were kinda bland. The service was friendly and responsive, which seems to be an improvement given the other reviews. The food isn't bad, but it's not great. I wouldn't mind coming back to hang out and get a couple of drinks, but I'd probably eat first.

Stunning London views from the Terrace
    Adam L.

We went for a friend's birthday and our table was on the terrace which is incredible; watching the sunset while we had our dinner. We all had the half lobster, steak, chips and frozen cocktail for £20 Thursday deal which was good value. Except it all arrived at different times. 3 people got their lobster and steak but no chips then over 30minutes later the chips came with the other 3 people's dinner. The waiter was really apologetic and helpful but when the manager came she didn't seem to think it was their fault and said we should have just enjoyed the food. They did give us 50% off the food bill in the end which I think was thanks to the lovely waiter. I've been to the Covent Garden Big Easy which was great service all round. But the setting of the Canary Wharf venue is incredible. So you can chose service or views!

This is a Mojito, Mauy Thai, Pickle Back and Monkey Nut Pickle Back
    Steven B.

Food was about as good as BBQ gets in London. Not cheap but you do get what you pay for. E.g. Jumbo Prawns means Jumbo Prawns, Brisket means proper sliced brisket, not the pulled beef you get in the supermarket... You get the point. The drinks were also great we had the Mojito, Muay Thai, Pickle Back and a Monkey Nut Pickle Back, all were really nice.

    Big Easy Patio

I like all Big Easy restaurants because of their big servings of food and unlimited orders. We booked dinner for 12 people for my friend's birthday on the 24th of November 2015. We arrived 30 minutes early and our table was ready but we did not sit immediately because some of our friends haven't arrived yet. Unlike the Covent Garden Big Easy, they do not have a long waiting line for diners who did not prebook. The location of this Big Easy is nicer than the one in Covent Garden. The have a massive Patio overlooking the river and DLR. They are at the top floor of the Crosslink where there's a lovely garden to hang around. The waiters are friendly and easily approachable (maybe because we were sat at the Chef's Table and near their station) The only negative thing is they were very slow at cleaning up our table so we could have dessert. I had to ask several times for them to bring in the cake I ordered for my friend so that we could sing her Happy Birthday. I did not like their recommendation of cake as well but they did put a candle light for our birthday girl. They also have a live band from 7pm to 9pm (iThink) Try to book during off peak times like after 8 or 9pm or 1-5pm so waiters and kitchen staff are not so busy. Try to go off peak times like after 8pm or

Pretty nice breakfast/brunch spot offering a wide array of American classics. I ordered The All…read moreAmerican (16.75 GBP), which was a typical combo of pancakes, bacon, homestyle potatoes, a sausage, and two fried eggs. It was rather plain/ordinary but certainly not bad. I have to say, the pancakes were a bit on the dry side though. Also, the eggs were sunny side up but didn't actually seem fried at all, as they were super soft without any crispiness. In addition, they didn't even add the slightest amount of seasoning on there - at least a few pepper flakes would have been nice (although there was pepper on the table, but still). The homestyle fries were well-cooked with a good crispiness though. The restaurant has a lower level with some seating as well as a larger upper level. It has a sort of old-timey kind of vibe, with wood panels along the walls and ceiling and a little performance stage in the back. It is conveniently located right next to the Canary Wharf tube station. My waitress was average friendliness and was only moderately attentive, as she never checked up on me during my meal. She also waited until I actually got my food to bring me my water. Overall, The Breakfast Club is a solid option for breakfast/brunch in Canary Wharf with pretty much any of the classics that you could want.

My quest for breakfast nearly turned into brunch due to my questionable navigation skills and…read more(shocker) rain. In my defense there are several rivers/canals I could be walking toward. I just kept finding the wrong one, but TBC made it worth the wait. For those seeking "a little more conversation", stop at the bar for the friendly experience you'd expect. Today I headed upstairs to the VIP Section. Unlike my wife who never saw a pancake she wanted to go home with, I like a menu with plenty of pancake choices. And bonus points if not too many are "exotic" such as cake disguised as compote-smothered confectioners-sugar-laced trendy-named items. Just get me some sort of flapjack with or without fruit. Bonus points if you have short and tall (long?) stacks. And double-bonus if you print "flapjack" on the menu. Enough about the pancakes (my wife is saying). She doesn't even like breakfast so don't listen to her (she'd skip if I weren't always dragging her out somewhere for it). Her loss. But just one more pancake point: I got the blueberry short stack. It wasn't epic but it was a solid +6-7. That works, given my earlier frou-frou comments. I couldn't tell and maybe the maple syrup was imported from Canada (eh), but we are spoilt with our Vermont supply. So no points gained/lost there. I didn't get any baked beans (yes because this was breakfast), but my bacon was tasty as were my two Americanos (aka coffees). If I had for some reason wanted pre-noon beans...I'm sure they would have been lovely, along with all the other varied menu choices I didn't have room to sample. Service was fast and efficient, and they endured my lingering into late-morning. By the time I left it had stopped raining. Will wonders never cease.

And my first visit to Piggy's Cafe made the trip even more enjoyable and rewarding. After perusing through the wonders of the fish market, stopping off in Piggy's Cafe seemed like the right thing to do.We'd compared, we'd (tried to) haggle, and now we just fancied a sit down before heading home and going back to bed again - we'd left the house at 4:30am. We both knew what we wanted, and seeing as we were surrounded by thousands of fresh fish goods, we were certainly going to order fish in here. I ordered the Smoked Salmon and Creamcheese bagel (£3.00) and Joe ordered the Scallop and Bacon Bagel (£3.50). We could have ordered a lovely cuppa, but didn't want any caffeine effecting our sleep we knew we would be having in a few hours. You order at the kitchen, and then wait for your food at the table you've chosen to sit at. The buzz and the atmosphere in this place is mesmerising; I found myself looking at every detail of this cafe and loving it all! The customers, the staff, the food, the drink, the noises - it was great! It was amusing to see 2 Weetabix in milk being served to an elderly fish seller, especially after being in the microwave. Just how my mum used to make it for me! There was also a gentleman eating sliced banana on toast! I've never seen that outside of a home, and would never expect it to be served in a cafe. Piggy's, you continue to impress me! Our food came quick enough, and boy was it tasty! My smoked salmon did taste fresh, and it was fishy too, in a good way obviously! I knew the bagel wouldn't be as delicious as those from Brick Lane, but it was surprisingly firm and doughy either way. Joe's Scallop and Bacon Bagel was greasy but good! Salty but good too! Check out my pictures. Other things on the menu, that we glanced at, were the Haddock Breakfast, your classic Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs, and then the Scallop Melt. I think I saw someone with this Scallop Melt, and it involved cheese and scallops, and maybe some scrambled eggs and bacon mixed in there too, yum! Overall, Piggy's Cafe is a number one joint to visit. I'm sure their fry ups are delicious, and I would love to go back to try something else on their menu. I'd dip, sip and tip at this fishy (in a good way!) joint! Menu not available online, but their telephone number is: 0207 987 1068
