Love this little coffee joint at Canary Wharf…read more I'd be honest, as an Aussie I find it ridiculously hard to get a half decent coffee in this country. Think it's not that people can't make good coffee, but more people just have not been exposed to good coffee culture and assume what you get at those Cosbla, Starbla or Pretbla is 'coffee'... Well sorry, it's not! A good coffee, without going into taste, crema, acidity etc, since they are all just too subjective, relies on just a few simple things: - the beans - fresh - the roast - sufficient - the grounds - right fresh & right grind - the water - temp and quality Notes does every one of these list consistently without fail! The grinds/beans are fresh, and the tempering and making is just right. A lovely layer of crema kicks starts a good day! (Sadly it cost!) Certainly worth a try! There's a few shops around town, if you do care about your coffee, here's once place worth trying! (I am NOT saying it's the best in the world, I know a few other great places too - happened to all be owned by Aussies and Kiwis - but this one is one of the best near Canary Whatf) Enjoy a cuppa!

It would say one of the best in Canary Wharf so far. If you live or work in the area, forget about Starbucks or Costa (lots of them around!). This place it so worth it. Staff is quite friendly and funny. They're always in such a good mood! They also had a loyalty card quite useful if you are a regular. They always seem to remember your face, which is a nice thing. They have a small selection of pastries and porridge in the morning and some sandwiches around lunchtime. You can also buy coffee to take home. They are really good giving advise about it, just in case you're not an expert! Tiny place but good quality. Average price. Try it! I am a fan already!

Brews are phenomenal tasting, and milk steamed to absolute perfection. Great coffee is a product,…read morebut a great cafe is definitely an experience. Since Nude Espresso shut down in Soho Square in '15, I found it nearly impossible to find a comparable loft cafe with a great coworking space. However, Coffee Island has filled that void. Located off a 7-Dials offshot of Covent Garden, this large venue has a beautiful overhead loft overlooking the barista bar. There are also plenty of tables and chairs on the first floor, including outside on the patio. The architecture is adorable, think iron staircase that leads you to barstool seating situated along the glass wall. The lengthy table is equipped with modern library desk lamps for each individual. Cute decor as well and coffee magazines/literature can be found in every nook and corner. The baristas there are all super friendly, and boy, does each and every one of them hustle. By hustle, I mean, if they aren't ringing up customers or whipping up beverages or serving food, they are constantly tidying up the venue, doing dish sweeps, and keeping the venue in tiptop shape, even during the busy hours. They engage with customers and make sure your drink is crafted to perfection. Definitely my new favorite spot when I want to work up above in a loft with the energy of the bustling cafe in my peripheral vision. Easily 5 stars. Pro-tip: they have a loyalty card. After £50 spent, you get a free crafted beverage or some amount of coffee beans for home.

While Nude's cafe located on Hanbury Street is only a short walk away, a visit to the roastery itself is well worth it. This hidden gem is far less hectic and is a welcome retreat from the chaos of Brick Lane. Finding it can be difficult, but just stroll through the entrance to 93 Feet East and continue through the beer garden and into the car park out back. Head to the left and you'll see it. The staff inside are pretty wonderful and after a quick chat about what coffee making tools I had at home they helped me pick out the beans best suited to my taste (they had been roasted that morning). A nice touch is that If you don't have a grinder at home they'll happily sort it out for you, plus you get a free coffee with any purchase of beans!

I've heard a lot about Nude over the years. It has a reputation for being a top notch coffee…read moredestination in London. This reputation has probably been further propelled in coffee circles due to its proximity to the annual London Coffee Festival and the amount of people who drop in before, after or during the show. If I'm being honest I was not blown away by the place. I think maybe it had been built up to much in my mind. It was a bit ramshackle and run down in terms of the look, but that's probably the bohemian style they are looking for. The basics are all there though, baristas, fancy espresso machines, roaster equipment, etc. I had a nice enough Americano, once it cooled down, but for me it was served far to hot. Almost nuclear temperature! Sadly this means I can only rate it three stars. If I'm ever in the area again though I will give it a other try.
