An American restaurant. They did a very good job at mimicking American food. They had steaks, pulled pork, burgers and chicken. Sides included fries and sweat potato fries, Mac and cheese and other American-y things. They also had a full bar and happy hour from 5-7 (drinks for 6 pounds) They food was very good but very under seasoned (typical of British food) which is why I only gave it 4 stars. The restaurant itself was very stylish. They played great music and the waiters were super friendly and attentive. Someone who seemed like the owner came over and talked to us after we finished. Having heard our American accents he wanted our opinion on the restaurant and feedback since we are American. Very thoughtful and willing to accept criticism. read more

Great BBQ and American fare in the UK. As a former resident of Memphis, Tennessee the Fried Chicken burger was legit and the feta fries were also a nice touch. My friend found Cattle & Co as she knows I am a fan of BBQ and we were in the area. The restaurant has a nice vibe, with good decor and the staff were really nice. I didn't want bread so went for the brisket with a side of mac and cheese and my friend tried the burger. We were quite rushed as we had we had a show to get to, so had to eat quite quickly. When the food came out, on the face of it looked amazing, I was really happy that I had gone for the brisket. However once I tried to cut the brisket it was rock hard and tough to cut. It was quite dry and required effort to cut into and cut into smaller bites. I was really disappointed. The Mac and cheese side with Boston beans was ok, I would have preferred larger pieces of pasta though, but that is just my taste. My friend enjoyed her burger and had no complaints. I prob wouldn't rush back. There is much better BBQ to be had in London! I used the toilets while I was there, before eating and they were really quite disgusting. In that slightly dead zone between King's Cross and Euston stations is Chalton Street, which has a few restaurants, a small Friday market, and now Cattle & Co. C&C is in a large double (well, judging by the address, triple) fronted unit which looks out onto the street and an ugly wall. Nevermind, I had my Kindle to keep me occupied anyway! The restaurant only opened yesterday, so this week they're doing a 25% off soft launch (a bit of a small discount for a brand-new venture, and this was evidenced by the fact that I was only person dining at 1pm). However, I'm a sucker for a smokehouse-type place and I like to support independent businesses. The waiter appeared to be the manager or owner, and he was very nice and asked what I thought of the food and actually wanted to know, and we generally had a nice chat. I wasn't put off by the menu but it didn't fill me with excitement, so I went for the burger. He said it was spicy and checked I was okay with that (I am, and it's not that spicy anyway). I was also told it was a bit of a Jamaican style burger, with the rub and chilis. I also got the pulled pork on top so I could try that, and the menu also promised house slaw and rosemary fries. The burger was really quite nice. As I said, it wasn't very spicy and was actually a bit sweet. My criticism was that the pulled pork was a bit dry - it needed a sauce or something. You couldn't taste it on top of the burger, and when I tried it on its own, it had a nice smoky flavour but it wasn't quite there. The meat wasn't overworked or too compacted, and it was cooked to a juicy medium (I wasn't asked how I wanted it). I was pleased it came on a seeded bun instead of some crumbly brioche nonsense. The slaw was red cabbage and I think some chilis - good for slaw, which doesn't really ever excite me. The fries were really, really nice. While I was meant to have rosemary, my food came with the Cajun spice, and I liked it very much. They were salty and savoury and had a bit of a kick. I had almost not ordered the burger because rosemary fries aren't really my bag, so I was pleased they made this error and I didn't mention it ;) With the discount, my burger with extra pork and a Coke was £10ish, and I was happy to pay that for it. At the higher £14 or so it should have been, I would have felt it was a bit high. I think I'll keep an eye on this place and see how the menu evolves! A definite 4 star for a soft-launch situation. read more

Went here when we saw open table had a couple reservations still up. My friends and I decided to take a gamble and go without reserved seating. They were able to accommodate the 4 of us and get us taken care of right away. Appetizers came out quickly and we had ordered our entree. Apparently, there was a slight delay on getting the food to us. We had been enjoying the appetizers and drinks and didn't think entirely too much of it. Besides that point, being from the states, it's one of those things that usually just goes without and condolences. They came to us and apologized for the delay and brought us an extra appetizer to make up for the inconvenience. The wait was absolutely worth it. I ordered the pulled pork and was stuffed. The sauce was outstanding with the pulled pork and the Cajun fries were a great pairing. My friend got the half chicken and she barely spoke, she was too busy enjoying her meal. (I tried some, juicy and delicate chicken!) The other two got the burgers and munched away with their sweet potatoes fries. With the extra appetizer, we had the meatballs, Mac and cheese, and the onion rings. Meatballs comes with about 5, and are really delicious. The onion rings as well, perfect to keep this American happy. And the Mac was perfect. A layer of cheese on top that had a little bit of a crust to it. A little greasy, but exactly what you'd expect from something as fantastic as that. This is comfort food with amazing service. Absolutely ecstatic to have come across awesome service and great food. I try to visit London as often as possible, this will have to be a spot I have to swing by again. Also, to the staff of Cattle & Co. your apology was genuinely icing on the cake. You all did fantastic. Your waiting staff and chefs were off the hook and deserve a big congratulation for really nailing this! read more

I can't give a massively objective review about Cattle, as I came in for just the lunch menu. Which, be aware, means not just lunch options, but that the rest of the menu isn't served. I ordered a chicken burger, and fries. For such a simple dish, at a great price, I wasn't expecting much. I was wrong. Stunning spicy flavours throughout the chicken. It's bun is spread with an almost Harissa style of topping, with a little salad thrown on as more of a suggestion than a line item. Still. I will be back to sample the rest of the menu as and when I can. If this and the service is anything to go by? It'll be good. read more

Excellent! The service here is top notch! I was not expecting to be greeted at the door and sat at a table with two of the employees checking on us constantly. That's it typical service over here, so I was very pleasantly surprised! You can tell they care about their business and patrons. The food and drinks were also very good! We had the appetizers - the meatballs and the bruschetta sampler which were amazing. I bet their main courses were awesome too! I think we'll be back to try before we leave. read more

Dropped in here for a late lunch after visiting the British Library. Lee (the bearded Irishman) greeted us warmly and sat us immediately. He made excellent recommendations, which we followed and were NOT disappointed. The short rib was amazing-literally melting in your mouth! The brief conversations with Lee were hysterical. Don't pass up a chance to stop in if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed. read more

paying full prices is NOT worth it one bit. it was a team of 7 of us, got the tuna - which was the better looking dish of all and it was grilled blue, so check that one... the rest veggie burger - from our vegetarian the comment was that the pub meal was better. chicken burger - this was mostly left on the plate wings - 4 wings in a lightly spicy sour sriracha based sauce, which was okay but again... better go to Exmouth arms pub close to Euston and get hands on some proper meaty goodness. baby back ribs - these were tough, and very very fatty... so unfortunately, all four were left on the table :( sweet potato fries - standard, crisp and well fried..but nothing to justify the price tag mac and cheese - it was okay, lacked sauce, but tasted okay. must say that I appreciated the minimalistic décor and the R&B tunes kicking at midday... may go back for a drink... but definitely not for the food. I have heard from some friends that they may take tastecard... if 50% off.. then yes.. it is potentially doable for an economical option at lunch... otherwise SKIP. read more

My family & I enjoyed this restaurant while visiting London. Great burgers and onion rings! Also, I got a salad which was big and we split it 3 ways. The restaurant had very tasty food. From the moment we walked in, late on a Sunday evening, we felt welcome. The food and drinks were generous and delicious. We had pulled pork and St Louis ribs. The owner regaled us with tales of the kitchen staff and his love of 70/80's TV and music. While waiting for our food the staff had cooked up a few dishes of pasta in a homemade tomato and basil sauce. I made a comment about that not being on the menu and was then surprised with a small plate to share! Highly recommend! read more

Excellent rib combo, the Cocktails are also very good across the board. Beef ribs dont seem quite worth the Price, although they were as soft and juicy as I ever had them. I highly recommend the pork combo which includes some nice pork ribs, very good pulled pork and crisp fries, all for a measly £13. Go get it read more
