Apple cider 9.87/10- actually delicious. This genuinely just has a sweet taste and it's not heavy, it tastes like Martinelli's. The apple is also definitely a green apple taste which is the best Peach cider 4.53/10- honestly this was way to sweet and almost tasted like if you've ever had peace flavored sauce but it was way too artificial. The night I went to O'Neill's, the was a band playing live music. The song selection was perfect for dancing and singing. Lots of LSE students can be found hanging out and mingling at this bar, but you'll also find some very interesting locals. I would definitely recommend the place. While it may be difficult to buy drinks immediately because there are tons of people waiting at the bar at all times even on a Monday, it was a great experience with the band, lights, and people especially as a college student. read more

We went here mainly for the sis and her craving for Caffrey's (lighter version of Guinness) but sadly... as soon as we sat down... they weren't saving it anymore! We ended up having dinner here anyway... and just making the best out of it despite the apparent disappoint from my sis... Our server was really really helpful and on top of her game! We didn't manage to get her name but to the management: we were there Aug 18 at 6ish and she was serving in the back... props to her for making us feel so welcomed! Anyway: I ended up getting the Meatball Linguini (I was curious to see if there's any difference with regular meatballs vs the "Irish" meatballs... apparently I've been missing out!) my pasta was filled with meatballs and I was in heaven! I ate it all... I was starving and the meatballs just melted in my mouth. It was soft yet tasty... My Dad tried the famous fish and chips and he enjoyed it... but I think he was out of it since we were in our last leg of our trip. Overall... I had a cider and it was refreshing... I had to save some room b/c during dinner, my sis managed to find another bar that served Caffrey's! Well worth checking out if you're around the area. This place is adorable! Large with two stories of bars and seating and yet a very cozy feeling. There are a decent choice of beers and ciders on tap. I visited this place most Thursdays​ while I studied abroad in London--which is sort of the vibe of the whole bar. Thursdays they offered live music by two different bands on the 2nd and 3rd levels. The band on the 2nd floor usually played Pop/top 40, and the3rd-floor​r band played more classic rock. Both were super fun and nothing beats live music! The first floor just feels like a pub for those who want a calmer night. The drinks were inexpensive and we always had a great time on these nights! It doesn't hurt that it's next door to a couple of Chinese​ restaurants that stay open late! I'd recommend this bar for any young people looking for a classic good time, but not for those looking for a super authentic 'English pub' experience. read more

It's right in the mix of Chinatown, so it could easily be a sell-out to toursits. But O'Neill's manages to retain a bit of local pub charm. It has the look. Leave it up to American tourist friends to drag you to a franchise pub you've always avoided (because life is too short for chain bars!). I'm an American expat by the way...I can say these things ;) I walked inside my first O'Neills today and was pleasantly surprised- this was a really nice and up-to-date 2-story pub. The service was nice as well. The British fare, as expected by me at least, was completely uninspiring. My friend ordered our table a round of Fish & Chips (insert any snide remark here) with mushy peas. The mushy peas: didn't finish because it was far from tasty. The fries: they were good enough, no real complaints. The cod: I had to douse with a lemon wedge, ketchup and tartar sauce to keep it at least somewhat enjoyable. I'm reluctant to return for drinks (I don't really do pubs anyway, honestly) and I'm sure I wouldn't eat at another O'Neills. Nice service and interiors, though. read more

Excellent pub close to downtown London in the Chinatown district. Can be easily reached from the Piccadilly Circus underground exit. The pub is known in the UK as the best Irish chain and serves a variety of traditional dishes and has a large draft beer selection. There is plenty of seating in the building and plenty of space for dancing. On the third floor live music is played each night around 11 p.m. Sunday brunch at O'Neill's is cheap and delicious. The food took a long time to come in, the mojito was worth the wait but not the chicken wings. The sauce in the wings wasn't that great. O'Neills is probably the best known chain of Irish pubs in the UK and they usually are opened in a variety of wacky locations such as old churches, town halls and grade listed buildings. The place is spread out over 3 floors with a traditional pub on the ground floor, a bar with a DJ and dance floor on the first floor and a club on the top floor with a balcony for smokers (you know who you are!). The pub keeps with the traditional culture by offering a wide range of beers and spirits as well as tasty pub food. The prices are great as they're quite cheap and always have food and drink deals. Depending on the night you go, the crowd will be mostly young business professionals having drinks after work but mostly be made up of tourists looking for a cheap Irish pub in Central London. There's a nice atmosphere and the music is usually pretty good, although the live bands can be hit or miss. When out in Central London I like to use this place as a meeting point with my friends, for a few drinks before we move on to somewhere else, but a lot of the time before you know it the 3am closing time has arrived. I've spent many a night here legless on both bourbon and Guiness and can safely say it's good craic! So with a great vibe, the Guinness flowing and late opening times at weekends, O'Neills is a great hangout spot! read more

Wow! This is like the home base for O'Neill's. This is O'Neill's HQ. With three floors, the place itself is beastly. Each level has a different thing goin on. The bottom level is your classic pub O'Neils, the second floor has got music and is more like a bar. The third level is like one big dance floor. The cool thing about the third level is the live music. There is a band there that plays like every 90s classic song and completely nails it every time. They come up with the greatest throwback set lists ever, so everyone relives childhood as they are jumping around. The prices are not fantastic, the cheapest beer according to them is their Fosters which is 3.75. The shots are over 3 pounds as well. That's pretty much the only drawback in an other wise bangin place. The bathrooms are surprisingly clean for the amount of traffic rolling through. The guys who put soap in your hand and give you towels make you feel like royalty. There is also a bunch of things lined up against the mirrors to freshen up and such. Some people were ragging on O'Neill's Pubs because they are a chain. Let me tell you I am very anti-chain, but I'm a fan of O'Neill's. This particular location is smaller than some of their other ones, but it has a great centralized location. The beer seems normally priced for pubs, but what stands out is the food. 3.50 for the favorites. Great value. I love the bacon burger (although the chips are baked) and the sausages with cannon. We went on a Saturday night and the place was packed. It took all my strength not to be crushed by the crowds of people spread across the two levels. The drinks were not expensive and the decor is very wannabe Irish pub, but that's really the charm of it. The music was a great mixture of contemporary rock and old Irish ballads. The crowd were really into it, breaking into spontaneous pockets of Riverdance around the bar as the night progressed. The bar staff we're all friendly, but this is not a place to come if you want to bring a date or have a conversation, the last word's you'll hear are the doormen's because after that its really loud and really hectic. THURSDAY NIGHTS. AWESOME. Live music, "The Lettuceheads". AWESOME cover band. Top 40 music in between acts/performances. Great atmosphere. Yeah, it's a bunch of American college kids who drunkenly stumble their way here. So like i said, great atmosphere. HUGE PLACE. I've only really been on the live music level but there's definitely a top level with open air smoking section and a ground level for Top 40 music. Eerily reminiscent of fraternity/sorority formals or dte nights. Overall, a ton of fun. So much so that towards the end of my 6 month stay in London, "What are we doing tonight? I don't know. _______ (insert fancy club here) is charging 20 pounds entry. Nevermind. Lets just go to O'Neills." became fairly common. A friend referred to it as a 'comfort bar'. The MAIN EVENT of my nights out in London. Sure we stop by other places first, but we come for O'Neils and make a night of it here. This is the chains flag ship location. A huge building, with 3 floors. The ground floor is more of a traditional pub, the middle floor (where we hang) is more of a bar with DJ and the top floor is a big open space with stage for live music. Drinks are priced about as reasonably as you're going to get for the area. Entry charge is about a fiver and you get in free anyway if you arrive before a certain time. The staff are seriously cool and great at their jobs. The music is great, especially that played by our main main and Londons greatest DJ, Big Joe. Theres a large mix of people here, all gelling and getting on great. I've met some very cool people here and not once have I even smelled trouble. The atmosphere here is great. I spent a few months in London during college and it was incredible, I will never again have such a carefree existence focused on fun only. With fun in mind, I can say I had WAY too much fun at O'Neils. With three individually themed floors (almost a different bar on each floor) there is always something going on. My favorite floor was the third floor, the dance club-ish floor. Getting a drink is difficult (if you're not a woman) but the drinks are delicious and strong. Since it is a pretty big hassle to get a drink, I recommend ordering a double in order to spend more time dancing (and making questionable decisions) and less time working out alcohol logistics. Double vodka cranberry for me, please! The nights spent with my roommates at O'Neils were during my single days and I cannot say I would recommend the club-floor to couples. A huge part of the fun was meeting new people, mingling, and just dancing with whoever was near. Dancing means music and thankfully, the music (at least on the third floor) was always a lot of fun. The worst thing ever is a packed nightclub with good drinks, and terrible music. Thankfully, O'Neils always played the type of music you WANT to listen to when you're at a club. Occasionally, a live band would play a few songs and instead of killing the atmosphere, everyone really loved it. This bar was a huge highlight of my time in London and I would recommend it to all of my young, single, and FUN friends. But now, as a married mom-to-be, I'd stick to a much more low-key pub. read more
