The prices were affordable and we both felt safe with their COVID procedures. The games were $3 each, and $3 for shoes. My friend didn't need shoes or a ball. I did though and was pleased with their process. COVID19 safety procedule: 1. The staff member asks for your shoe size; then your provided with disinfected shoes. 2. If you required a ball, a staff member provided you with a glove, and you were assisted till you found correct ball size. Everything balls, shoes were clean, and staff were friendly. Dividers were used between each lane to promote social distancing. Overall felt safe and would return again. I may be the worst bowler, but I do have a funny gutter ball dance.

Someone from the front counter takes you to your lane. You have to go in one way through the alley, and leave another way, for safety reasons, which is good. While you make your way to the alley, there is an area to choose your bowling ball if you don't have one. You are given gloves to try them on before selecting one. Then you make your way to the alley. When you are done with the ball, you leave it on the lanes, and someone immediately came and cleaned the area and the ball. Very efficient and safe. There are plastic sheets hanging between each lane for COVID safety. Also, you can't go up to the bar or snack bar. There is a call button given to each party and you order from there. They have many menu offerings that sounded good and one day I'm going to have to order some bowling alley food.

I've always wanted to check it out, so it was a real treat! The alley itself is on the smaller side, but it's decorated very nicely and has an arcade attached. There's a bar too which is always a plus! We ate dinner there - pizza and various appetizers. The chicken finger pizza was incredible, and I snagged a chicken wing egg roll as well, which was just as decadent. It's not cheap to bowl here. There's definitely more affordable options, so I don't think I'd necessarily list the Spare Room as a top choice if I were to have a bowling get-together in the future. But it was really neat, and if you do get the chance to experience it, you should take it. All in all, The Spare Room is a nice addition to 500 Pearl and Downtown Buffalo as a whole. To the manager's credit, once the issue was addressed, it was handled professionally and the discount was honored. The more frustrating issue occurred during dinner service. A full rack of ribs was clearly listed on the menu, yet the server informed me she did not have the ability to order a full rack, only a half rack. I had to insist on ordering what was advertised and request to speak with a manager. During this interaction, the server responded rudely, stating that no one else had an issue with this and that I was the only one. Two minutes later, she returned and stated the issue was "fixed" and proceeded to take the order. This was not an isolated experience. This is the third time I have encountered situations at Dave & Buster's that required manager involvement for basic service matters, which should not be the norm for a family entertainment and dining establishment. If it were not for the fact that my son truly enjoys this place--and the limited family entertainment options in the Buffalo area--I would not return. I would not generally recommend Dave & Buster's based on service consistency. That said, if you are in a similar situation and need a venue to keep kids entertained, it may suffice, but expectations should be managed.

I just walked over the the bar area and took it from a different table. After eating it's took ..... 30 more min for the check, and when I received it , it was wrong. I asked what they were going to take off for the inconvenience. Now we were a party of 10 so this wasn't a small bill by any means. The server looked me and said "take off for what." I took a deep breath and said for waiting 3 hours to eat on top of everything else. Long story short they took the sodas off the bill . Never seen the manager and spent most of our time just waiting. Good thing we're all good company lol or it would have been such a boring and awkward time. My cousin went to the food court and at his food at our table that's how bad it was. The kids where so hungry. It was just a very bad experience. We made the best of it after and the games where fun. Highly don't suggest eating there unless you have no other plans for the day.
