What a fun place to have a beer and some great bar food. While visiting friends in Oxford, their elderly father wanted to go to Big Buls as it's his favorite place. How can you go wrong with $1 Busch Light on a Monday night? We were a party of 15 and the food was served in a pretty timely manner. I had a chicken Philly sandwich on a hoagie roll w/fries. There was so much chicken that I skipped the roll so I could enjoy the rest. Had a side Caesar which was also good. Some other plates on our table were ribs, salmon, pulled pork and burgers. The servers were very friendly. Now I know why my friend's dad loves the place

Loaded Italian cowboy with Saratoga chips

First time here and there was a fundraiser going on in the back and no parking. We found a spot and thought there was going to be a wait. There wasn't which was good and were seated right away. We started off with the Bavarian pretzel sticks. Since they used a German name for the pretzels one would think it would be bier cheese. Nope, it was spicy queso sauce but they were good. They deep fry the pretzels since they were a little greasy but it wasn't dry. I had the double black and blue burger. It was bigger than I thought. It was a bit dry with the Cajun seasonings and bleu cheese. The patties seem to be premade by the perfect roundness but I could be wrong if they use a burger press but the meat didn't have much taste. My wife had the loaded Italian cowboy. She said it was good and a nice size sandwich. It seems the meat didn't go to the ends as there was a good amount of bread only on each end but had a taste with the dressing and seasoning. She said the Saratoga chips were good. She needed to get a side of bbq sauce which I was surprised that didn't come with it as they would have been dry. Overall it wasn't bad and we will be back to try other items on their menu

Big Buls is a good example of the West Side Cincinnati area family friendly bar and restaurant. Like its many cousins, Big Buls is a place to have a beer or two with dinner-and the kids, grandma, heck even the in laws will feel welcome. They have a large patio area that was hosting some sort of public party (I bet it was a cornhole tournament) when we visited. But Big Buls still had plenty of seating inside for my daughter, my wife, and myself. Our waitress was amazing! She was attentive to everyone in there, checked with the chef on the spice level of my daughter's bean burger (and that was very nice- a real vegetarian option in a local eatery in a scene not noted for its vegetarian options), and made us feel right at home. The food was ok. Nothing special we found- my wife said the steak she had was cooked properly but had no seasoning (an A-1 steak sauce steak) and my hoagie was an ok hoagie. However, the prices reflected the fare. Everything was very reasonably priced (now don't you go saying I remember when a burger cost 99 cents and everything nowadays beyond that is overpriced. I am happy to have a meal at a sit down restaurant with quality table service at the $20-$25 a plate price range.) with our meals averaging about $15. Good value. The inside had a whole array of TVs with sports on, and the establishment had the volume at the perfect level for both entertainment and table conversations. I liked it and will return the next time we are in the area.

Big Buls was hopping on a Friday night. Big tables inside and out make room for large groups, sports teams and the like. Food was good starting with potato skins and salads. Sandwiches were HUGE so we got to bring home lunch for the weekend! The live music started out back at 9pm. They have both local bands (Middle Age Man Band, hint hint) as well as national acts like Scotty McQuery here in May 2018. The stage was nice with covering for the weather, but as it warms up the screens open to a huge back patio and even bigger fire pit! Check it out!

I asked for a nice table, but they sat us next to the bar... I'm not sure why since the other dining room was open and no one was in there eating The food was no better than what you could get at the Denny's restaurant... the service was no better than a poorly managed diner, and the ambience was that of a slightly elevated cafeteria... Flavorless, dry salmon, a house wine that ended up being sparkling, despite the fact that it didn't claim to be so on the menu, and a waitress in blue jeans and a sweatshirt that might as well have been working at McDonald's... If you're going to claim to be a fine dining restaurant... Maybe you should pay a little more attention to the fine detail. I can't recommend this restaurant unless you're all about paying a lot of money for very little wow factor.

I can say what a surprise it was to see this was located within a retirement complex. But ever open to new dining experiences we parked and went in. We were greeted right away and had only a very short wait for our table. The ambiance is very relaxing with lots of wood. Their menu was not too extensive but featured a range of items. They have a full bar and offer specialty cocktails. Our server was pleasant and the food arrived in a timely manner and was very good. I have no complaints. And if this is what is available for retirement living it's a great option. I must note there were obvious younger patrons also. So it seems as if the community enjoys it too.

Upon arrival, there were maybe 30 people standing outside and we immediately thought oh my the wait is 40 min. But we were wrong. They were leaving! We added our name to the wait list. We were called within 10 min. They were cleaning the table. The server mentioned that the power was restored at 4:30 due to the tornado watch. Every business in the area lost power. It was full but they were getting orders in quickly. I ordered the smothered chicken w/mushrooms and pepper jack cheese. Side salad, sweet potato, and grilled shrimp. The chicken was tender. Mushrooms were also tender covered in sauteed onions. The shrimp was just right not overly cooked Everyone else had grilled salmon and portobello chicken. They all enjoyed their meal The server was nice and attentive. After placing our order, we waited maybe 15 min. They were really on topic with it. The peanuts are a treat! The bartender was handling the table service this evening and did a great job. You would have thought that she had known us for years. She is super friendly! It wasn't crowded tonight when we got there but it did pick up quick. Despite the additional guests that came in she was on top of it. My wife ordered a Diet Coke and I ordered a tall Miller Lite. The draft beer was exceptionally cold which I like. We ordered our food which was 6 buffalo wings for me with a wedge salad and Bleu cheese. My wife ordered the shepherd's pie with came with a small salad. When our food came out the presentation was great as well as piping hot. She had to let her entree cool a bit before eating it. My wings were very meaty and loaded with sauce. (No need to ask for extra) The wedge salad was huge and delicious as well. I got their homemade Bleu cheese with it and definitely don't regret that. Note the wings came with Bleu cheese and celery also. My wife loved her salad and couldn't stop raving over the Shepherds pie. I did get a taste and must agree with her on how good it was. I took half of my salad and a full Bleu cheese home with me for tomorrow and my wife also brought home half of her meal. We ended up ordering the brown butter cake to split for desert which I will say was outstanding. We will surely go back and only wish that we had tried it sooner. Don't sleep on this one or you will be missing out.
