I'll start at the start--from the first email we sent to B. Lin Catering--they were responsive, helpful, and really thoughtful about our questions. That is no small thing, because we threw a lot of questions at them in that first email, and throughout the process, I mean a lot! But every time, Rena worked through our list in a timely way and responded to every single one of our questions with answers that were direct, and helpful. She was not just ready with answers to every question, but happy to provide additional suggestions and information from her experience, and proactive about raising and resolving issues in the plans we suggested we had not considered yet. B. Lin was one of our favorite vendors we worked with--and one of the most essential when it came to actually making the event we dreamed about a reality. From reviewing rental tablecloths and dishware, to suggesting tweaks to our floorplan and timeline, to setting everything out on the big day--and more. They also were crucial to the final clean up, and helping us ensure we got our venue security deposit back! The venue manager actually told us the place " was left in exceptional condition." OH and did I mention we were able to plan with them so effectively we flipped the room ahead of schedule? All night the B. Lin team was like clockwork. (but clockwork that knew how to adjust to the other ups and downs of the day around them!) And that's just about how helpful, detailed, and responsive they were to work with. I know what you're thinking--BUT WHAT ABOUT THE FOOD? The food was delicious. I can't really do it justice so you will just have to try it yourself. My only regret is we couldn't serve everything we sampled, because it was all so delicious! Star players include the buffalo chicken wonton, moneybag dumpling, and pork bao buns which were all HUGE hits during the cocktail hour. For dinner we landed on a stir-fry buffet, because it was not only delicious but gave us a lot of flexibility to for guests with dietary restrictions. I will admit now, my mother was initial skeptical of that we weren't going with the "steak or chicken" plate that was standard. But we knew we wanted something different, and tasty. In the end, she was completely converted by the end of the night. She may have told me how great the dinner was more than anyone else! But seriously, everyone loved the food, everyone! By the end of the night, me and my wife received a LOT of compliments--that really should be directed to B. Lin catering, Rena, and the rest of the team the helped us. We've seen it from Columbia to Finksburg MD! This time we found them at an event in Savage Park in Savage MD, (Jun 2026), in a cluster of trucks gathered in a corner of the parking lot next to one of the fields in a little league tournament. We already had hot dogs before we saw the DMV truck, and we had no regrets, but also no room for more. But we love love these birria tacos. Tender, juicy, flavorful, with lots of consommé on the side for dunking. We got some to take home, and they reheated really well, losing none of the flavors or aromas, just losing some of the crispiness of the taco shell. They were a glorious mess! We got an order of flavorful shrimp tacos, too. Scrumptious! Generous! They had birria, chicken, shrimp, or veggie tacos or quesadillas or burritos or rice-bowls, loaded fries, even a birria grilled cheese, birria empanadas, or a birria or combo hoagie! I never felt like I needed to pick up the phone and reassure myself that they were taking care of my request. The online quote form is very detailed and when I stated that the theme for my daughter's party was Lord of the Rings, they ran with it. The creativity shown in the menu was amazing. It made my daughter extremely happy from the start. Hannah definitely worked to keep the menu within our budget, offering suggestions on where we could tighten things. The week of the event, they were back in touch to finalize details and on the day of the event, Chloe showed up with the food at the designated time and was very professional and polite but also very approachable. She did an excellent job setting up and explaining all the dishes. Finally, the food! Absolutely amazing! The hits were the leaf-wrapped elven lembdas bread and Balin's spiced beef (brisket). The brisket was so tender it melted in your mouth. While those two were the standouts, the rest of the food certainly held its own and disappeared quickly. Anyone who's made a proper Passover dinner knows that it isn't for the faint hearted…read more Ya gotta have brisket. I'm not exactly sure why you have to have brisket. I'd totally be fine with a nice prime rib one year... but you have to have brisket. Your meal also must include no leavaners... rising agents... yeast... anything like that. Then you have to have *Charoset (basically an apple and nut salad) *Horseradish *It'd be weird to not have gefilte fish *100 other things Basically it's a pain in the neck. So just the thought of trying to shop and get all of these things in the current climate was mind numbing. La Prima Catering to the rescue! Luckily I am part of a group where local restaurants and food services are posting info and I caught wind that La Prima was taking last minute orders for Passover. The price was right, the meal sounded delicious, and the woman Karla even reached out to me after I asked a question on the message board. It was clear she was responsive. Let me tell you! They really killed it, to be honest. Everything we got was fantastic. The brisket was super tender and they included a TON of extra gravy like my mother had asked for. The matzo ball soup was quite good with tons of fresh hand shredded chicken pieces. The tzimmes (which I had never had before) was indulgent with a rich depth of sweetness that in itself deserves 5 stars. The meal also included charoset (I prefer mine with a little more wine flavor). And the flourless chocolate cake which was chocolate decadence in every way shape and form. It was rich, and chocolatey, and it was honestly a mousse like consistency which I didn't mind one bit. It was the perfect finish. Me and my fam did our first virtual Passover like many of us around the nation and it went really well. I might honestly lobby for us to just order from La Prima next year to save one of us the hassle.
