Owner is not honest. He quotes on thing then double and triple charges. Beware.

Where to begin? First, their communication is terrible because you'll talk to someone and the next…read morecall or text goes to someone else. I called and setup a time - I called back and the guy said I didn't have a move scheduled (got a text confirming I didn't have anything scheduled). Then people showed up at my house (I wasn't ready). The company blamed me even after I showed them the text and the call where the guy said I didn't have an appt. Move time comes - the guys are aloof and unhelpful. They didn't ask if I was okay leaving the doors open (they propped them up immediately). So then I had to find my cat. They used the front and back (while they were only two people) and messed up the door frame to the back - with nails sticking out that could've easily poked my kids (I'll come back to this). That's bad enough but professionals would have at least mentioned what they did (not try to avoid it). Professionals would say, "We screwed up - how can we help". I know this because I hired professionals after this company failed so miserably and they did something considerably minor and immediately were like, "We're sorry - that was our mistake." And that was it - taking simple accountability was all that was needed and I could not have cared less (although as professionals, they didn't screw up nearly as badly as College Movers). Back to College "Movers". They damaged furniture. They poorly packed and took very little of what I asked them to take and then they stopped before the time agreed upon and had the unmitigated gall to ask me if I would be tipping them. When the crew that came after these guys saw how they literally had thrown my things in a 10x20 storage unit and taken up a ton of space with not that much - they laughed (because these guys are laughably pathetic). Even sadder? I'm in no way a professional; the movers told me they had no way to understand how to take apart a bunk bed. I did it in the 20 minutes after they left (by myself). They are, simply, lazy. And that's fine - be lazy (but don't be movers). The worst part is that for each issue raised, their company took absolutely no responsibility. Texts indicating I had no appt? I must've confused their system (and ignore the fact that I could name who I talked to, when I called and for how long). Pictures showing the damage they did (but had not happened in the 4 years I previously lived in the home or from the movers I hired AFTER them because they were so bad) - must've been poor craftsmanship of the house, furniture, or magic. At no point was someone able to say, "You know, we could've done better." It has been (repeatedly), "Well, actually ..." If you want college movers in the vein of frat guys who are bad at their job, uninterested in professionalism, and adding to the litany of why moving sucks - these are completely your people. If you'd like a good company, go with "Moving You Forward" out of Terre Haute or "A Better Way" or literally any two people off the street.

On moving day, our three movers were professional and careful. They took apart the big china cabinet that I couldn't do, and were careful to put everything in the room that it went to. That's made unpacking a lot easier. They were careful with our stuff, and responsive to our needs, and I can't thank them enough, or recommend them too much!

Soft Touch Review We…read morehired Soft Touch Moving in June 2025 to pack, move, and store our belongings in their "climate-controlled" facility for four months while our new home was being built. About 4 hours into the re-delivery of our belongings by their crew, we discovered that much of our furniture and personal property which had already brought into our new home appeared to be covered in mold. The contamination affected our brand-new home and required professional remediation. As a result, we were displaced and forced to live in a hotel for 50 nights while the issue was addressed. The owner, John Craft, acknowledged to us that our belongings had gotten wet and remained on their moving trucks for a period of time during the hot and humid month of June. Despite assurances from the company's insurance carrier, we have received very little communication or resolution. More than seven months later, we still do not have our belongings and have had to retain legal counsel to pursue claims against both Soft Touch Moving and the insurance company. This experience has been incredibly disruptive to our lives. Based on our experience, we would strongly caution others before trusting this company with their belongings.

We recently moved from Bloomington to Fort Wayne. This was our 4th major move hiring pros to pack…read moreand load. We've also had a few smaller moves where we've hired movers just to move the big items. The guys arrived on time. It was March (winter), so cold and wet in Bloomington. I was disappointed that the movers didn't put any runners down to protect the floors. Luckily, I had planned an extra day to get the house cleaned before closing. We had packers the first day, but they didn't finish everything. Finished packing on second day, with movers loading, but felt kinda rushed at the end of the day. Our stuff went into storage for a week or so until we got keys to the new house. They arrived on a Saturday to unload. This is what my husband wrote to them: Saturday's move in went well with one exception: The Indiana University football semi-trailer. As a Purdue graduate, I feel that all my worldly belongings have been contaminated by the residual odor of sweaty IU football players. The mere thought is making me queasy. I am now getting estimates for whole house tent fumigation. A Tippecanoe County company uses Boiler Gold Ale from People's Brewing Company to restore class and integrity to any soiled property. sigh Guys on the job were very polite and most helpful in putting things in the right rooms. We marveled at the hustle your crew showed throughout the day. It was exhausting just to watch. Thanks so much for making this all happen. During unpacking we discovered a glass shelf chipped and a nightstand missing. They promptly paid for those two items. Our belongings are a bit more bruised, but that could be from the wear and tear of moving 4 or more times.

The crew that packed and loaded, and the different crew that unloaded were all great. I would use them again, but would probably get a few things clearly established in writing or observe in person. The company came highly recommended by a relative, and I'm glad I used them.
