I am a particularly neutral opinion when it comes to oysters; I have them maybe two or three times a year, typically near the coast. I am not a connoisseur, but also never picky. The oysters in the Hangtown Style scramble today were PUTRID. Of the two of us at the table that ostensibly like oysters, neither of us could stomach the stench or taste. With an already average opinion of the other dishes at the table (an alright huevos rancheros and pretty tasty Pecan Pancake stack) the oysters dropped us down to negative. The hostess sat us at the bar and then sat two other people who came in after us at a table. Their idea of a hash brown was a fried square of mashed potatoes. It was nasty. I'm not one to do reviews but I felt this needed to be said. Sunday is usually the one time we go eat out with friends. I've been to this location 2 times, first time was honestly terrible... that was roughly a month ago or so. Decided to give it another shot, I understand sometimes it's at peak times of brunch or lunch and it's what it is. This time we decided to go early. We where there 1 hr after opening this morning. Only a handful of guest in the establishment. The servers are sub par, no extra refills, coffee cups had lip stick stains on them, I was given 1 glass of water. No condiments such as butter or jam for biscuits. No extra napkins.. The biscuits are at most like a hockey puck both times I've ate them. Hard as a rock, cold pancakes, chicken was burnt and old oil used to fry it. Microwave at best. As Gordon Ramsey would say. "Its shit" Don't eat here. read more

Typically we've had no issues here, but they're added a few new drinks to the menu and I asked both bartenders what was in those, both of them at different times told me that they were new menu items and couldn't tell me what was in them. Each directed me to the other bartender. One of them handed me the behind-the-bar paper pamphlet that they go off of for drinks and the new drinks weren't even on there. This is literally my first time complaining about a restaurant, but please make sure your staff knows the new menu items or at least is able to get the info for guests. read more

After getting on the waiting list and still waiting 45 minutes after we were told to come in, the girls at the front desk (who had been audibly bickering the entire wait) finally realized that they sat several people before us. When we finally sat down, I think we asked for water 6 times, from 6 different people. Unfortunately, I had to give this restaurant three stars and here's why... I had never been to one so I was excited to go. Restaurant is clean, fun decor, and environment, the wait wasn't bad on a busy Sunday and the menu looked fun with some possibly different choices. I'm a foodie that always excites me. My husband and I both ordered the Jack Benny, which did not disappoint at all! It was actually above and beyond what I expected, very delicious! Our server had a great server spirit, which I appreciate, very tentative, but before she walked away from taking her order, my husband asked for her to add on some pancakes, which she wrote down, and that was the first glitch if you will, our Jack Benny's were delivered together, but no pancakes. We caught another server and asked him, a couple minutes later our server came by and we asked her, she returned to us to apologize for not putting the order in. Disappointing as we wanted our breakfast altogether. But we were still not completely dismayed as our JB's were so delicious... our pancakes finally arrived with another apology as we enjoyed them as well. Then we got the bill! I found it very hard to believe that three normal size pancakes were $11. Perhaps I'm just out of touch with today's prices? Although our J.B.'s were only $13 apiece and they were generous with ham, delicious eggs, potatoes, spinach, sauce etc. so I think a fair price of $13. I had to ask the server if this was correct which her first response was to say oh I think there's a mistake because she later said it did seem high, but she went back to check, but yes, indeed three simple pancakes with no sides was indeed $11! My husband and I calculated that it might cost them a dollar to make a pancake, regardless I might understand paying a price like that vacation hotel but it just seems so out of place to me here. Had my first BBB experience this weekend and absolutely loved it! I had the huevos rancheros and my wife had the pancakes with bacon and fresh squeezed oj. We also split a biscuit with sausage gravy. The grits in the huevos rancheros were delicious with a great cheese flavor and not too gritty. The poached eggs were a little over done, but there was still enough yolk to mix with the ingredients. If you like spice I highly recommend asking for a side of their house hot sauce. Absolutely delicious! The pancakes were fluffy and very good, and I'm not a big sweets person. The bacon was also very tasty. I'm an over medium bacon kind of guy, and even though this bacon was well done it had both a chew and a snap to it. The biscuits are HUGE and have great flavor to them. The sausage gravy was pretty standard. Nothing disappointing or standout about it. I'll be interested to try their other gravies. Definitely a new breakfast place to add to our rotation! read more

I was told by the manager to please try them again that when I came back to tell them I didn't want everything loaded with black pepper and he would fix it "hillbilly style "for me! He asked for my address and said he was going to send me a certificate out that day for two free meals. I never received them.
