pre-Ordered and paid for a cheese pizza, sausage roll, and a gluten free supreme. (and tipped online) when i arrive within my window to pick up my carryout order. the staff forgot to make my cheese pizza. i asked for a refund for the pizza they did not make. they refused to give me a refund and ask me "what was the problem." instead of telling me they forgot to make my pizza, the manager, cashier started to hide behind the wall instead of resolving the issue. finally the cashier said its the owners problem and walked away while the manager was refusing to help resolve the issue. stating that because it was door dash there was nothing she could do. even after i stated that i was not door dash multiple times. highly dissatisfied and disappointed especially after trying to supporting a local busines. the manager said "its saturday and we're busy" so i guess that means you wont get what you paid for since it's Saturday and busy. read more

My son had this pizza a few weeks ago and couldn't stop raving about it. We ordered the HUGE pizza in the HUGE box this past weekend. We ordered pepperoni pizza and garlic knots. The person that took my order seemed awfully distracted, and said it would be about an hour. We showed up to pick up our pizza at the 50 minute mark. It was ready. We said that we also had an order of garlic knots, but he said "no - I don't see it on the order". There was an order of garlic knots waiting to be boxed up - but he said they weren't ours. When we go the HUGE box home, but pizza was ok. It tasted like it had been done for awhile before we got there, and the crust was hard and very chewy. Like I said - it was just ok. The Big Apple would be so disappointed. I love New York and I love their pizza but this is definitely not New York. From the outside this looks like an okay place. The inside is nothing to write home about. I was greeted promptly. I asked if they had fresh meat lovers pizza and was told they did so I ordered three slices. The employee grabbed the already cooked slices and proceeded to a station where she threw what appeared to be ham on the pizza. The already cooked pizza was then thrown into an oven. After a brief warm-up the slices were literally tossed into a box. The attached photos illustrate what I received. Three slices of extra greasy and sitting in the case way too long pizza. Note that one of them had raw ham sitting on top of it. Not wanting to waste money or food and having already driven home I decided to eat it. I definitely don't feel well. If they were short staffed or busy I would be more understanding. However there were plenty of employees and only one other customer in the shop. Fort Wayne is a small town and restaurants come and go. If Big Apple Pizza continues this quality they won't be open long. Just because you have a great location doesn't guarantee success. read more

Holy moly this pizza is great! Like most have said before a slice is the size of a small baby! I would recommend getting a whole pizza rather than just a slice they make it up fresh and I think we all can agree that is always better. Now the pizza that we got was a pepperoni, sausage, green peeper, bacon and onion. We went with the small that was 18 inches, that was right a 18 inch small! Anyways the pizza was great, fresh ingredients great people and all around just wonderful. While we where waiting the customers are super loyal and very knowledgeable pizza connoisseurs! Ain't much to look at, but the Pizza at Big Apple cannot be beat. Recent upgrades have made it more comfortable, and they have expanded seating if you would like to stay and eat. While I have never had authentic NY Style Pizza in NYC, the owner is from NY.....so I imagine they are the real deal. You can order by the slice- and have them add toppings and reheat. You can also order a pizza specially made- but it may take a half hour or so until its done. Not much to do, or look at while you are waiting, so its probably best to call ahead in that case. Big Apple has been at it for 3 years i understand, so they are doing something right. I will be back for sure. read more

I tried the pizza from their food truck in downtown Ft. Wayne, so I can't really speak for the atmosphere of the actual location. If the pizza there is as good as their regular location, I'm sold! I had been wanting to try this place for quite some time since we cannot get our favorite NY/NJ style pizza here in Fort Wayne. My daughter and I decided to stop in today on our way home from Hyde Brother Books and were disappointed to find out that they did not sell by the slice on Sundays. After having a great conversation with Patrick about how excited we were to finally be here he offered to make us a fresh pie. Within 15 minutes we had a fresh cheesy NY/NJ pizza pie. We decided to take it to go and we knew we would not be able to make it home without tasting. My daughter and I both ate a hot slice on the way home and it was fabulous! The crust is thin, the sauce is awesome and the cheese is exactly what we would get back east. If you enjoy NY/NJ style pizza then you know what I mean when I say, we folded our slices and let the grease drip down our elbows as we enjoyed our pizza. We are already making plans to get another pizza on Friday to surprise my husband with our awesome find-this time we'll try the Long Island white pizza.
