This was a toss up on how many stars to leave. The food was decent enough for a pizza place, but the service could absolutely use some help. My husband and I walked in after a long day at the beach and wanted to enjoy a hot pizza and some garlic knots. We chose to sit inside so we could have the food as fresh as possible. The inside was very clean and because they have an open kitchen you can watch your pizza being made. I thought this was a nice nod to a traditional NY pizzeria. Our waitress however, was a hot mess express. She was the only one working the floor, but the inside only had two other tables sitting. Not busy. She promptly greeted us and took our drink order, a draft beer and a coke. She brought our beverages and took our order without writing anything down. After we placed our order, we had nothing to do, but wait, watch and listen. I am not 100% sure, but I am pretty positive she was intoxicated and/or drinking. She couldn't remember what tables ordered what, brought me another beer without me asking and tried to give our garlic knots to a different table. Once again the restaurant was not busy. When the bill arrived, we were not charged for the second beer or the garlic knots. Thinking we were just "hooked up" we left her a nice tip. We also tipped the guy making the pizza, because he was busting his butt and dealing with her shenanigans and it was apparent he was annoyed. That guy was a stud and definitely makes great food so keep him around. As for our service, questionably average to say the least. Dine in if you dare! read more

One of my favorite pizza spots! We like to come here for the quick service and delicious food. The garlic knots are so perfect soft on the bottom with a little crunch on the top with the perfect amount of sauce and the pizza comes out steaming! We USED to eat here. And DO NOT USE THE ONLINE ORDERING. The past few times we have had issues with general customer service and we are done with this place. We have lived in town over 50 years and frequented since they were at Martin Square Mall. When we got pizza a couple of times ago, I called in the order and was on my way to pick it up (5 minutes past the time I was told to pick up) and while at the light to turn near the plaza, an obnoxious employee asked if I was picking my pizza up. It was very rude. Tonight, I ordered online and when I went at the listed time to pick up, they were not aware of the order and only then picked the slip up off the machine. (There was only one table of 3 people in an otherwise empty restaurant.) you pay in advance (and I left a $5 tip) when ordering online, so I was stuck. I went and got gas and came back about 17 minutes later and the pizza was ready. Other than a very poor "sorry", I was not offered anything for my time or inconvenience. It's the thought and intent that counts. A decent apology or a couple of knots would have gone a long way. After all that, the pizza was barely warm so we heated it up when I got home. I called in to order a large meat lovers. After telling the person what I wanted, I changed my mind during the call thinking an XL was only $2 more. $29 order. I got to the store and they have a special on Monday and Tuesday where a large is $11.99. Pretty upset the person I talked to didn't say anything and was happy to just charge me full price. I complained at the counter and someone was nice enough to tell me it's on Mondays and Tuesdays. Big Apple Pizza & Pasta is at best a mediocre pizza place (and that is being extremely kind). I grew up in New Jersey and pretty much grew up with great pizza options on almost every corner. When I moved to Florida over twenty years ago, I was both shocked and dismayed to learn that finding good pizzerias on every corner certainly was not the norm. In fact, finding good pizza anywhere was somewhat a challenge. Big Apple Pizza & Pasta is, as I said, at best mediocre. The pizza just is not too good. Staff was OK, no real issues. My biggest complaint was the food, specifically their pizza. While I understand that I am not in New Jersey anymore (and boy, when I try to get pizza that point certainly kicks home with new hard), I still seek out good pizza. I am normally a fan of Big apple Pizza but I definitely do Not recommend the cheese steak sandwich. It is BLAND. I mean no FLAVOR AT ALL. Ordered delivery the other day: everything was excellent! Girl that took my order (Bethany?) was very polite and professional, didn't rush me at all. The food was delivered promptly and it was DELISH!! We order a large Stromboli filled with meatballs, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, roasted red peppers, and cheese. We also got 2 large salads: one grilled chicken salad and one chef's salad. Both were outstanding, especially coupled with their house dressing! Big Apple made a decent attempt at their food. The unfortunate thing happened when I got UberEats involved. The "quick" is that I ordered dinner using the UberEats app. After about 90 mins, the app kept telling me food was on its way. I contacted Big Apple who told me Uber never showed up. Big Apple sent dinner with their own driver and, unfortunately dinner (pizza) was cold. I've contacted Uber who's only reply is that the restaurant has the responsibility to deliver the food. We order from here often. The pizza has been consistently good. The antipasto salad seems to be hit or miss lately. Horrible. Their pizza was alright the first time I had it, but I just ordered subs and they were AWFUL. Buffalo chicken sub: small, cold, and mushy chicken that was supposed to be crispy. Chicken cordon bleu sub: not even a sub, no onions at all, bread was not toasted and it was cold. When I called and explained that I waited over an hour for my food and everything that was wrong with it, the manager made it out to be MY fault and was an jerk on the phone. Naturally, I am from long island so it's getting judged based on that unfortunately, but if you claim to be NY style I'd expect a little more...only had a couple of apps, and again they were decent but I wouldn't necessarily try them again. Our med thick crust pineapple and sausage pie took over 30 min, and was a thin crust, plus the side of hot sauce for our wings was ice cold. After waiting an hour for delivery (though I live 4 miles away) this was the sad excuse for a chicken cordon bleu sub. I am lactose intolerant so I ordered no cheese, but that was not the issue. Aside from being cold and missing onion, the sandwich was comparable to a 6 year old's school lunch. I expected something more substantial and less Walmart-esque for $8.95. When I called the restaurant and asked if they could do something to make it right, the manager blamed me for not ordering cheese. My daughters and I have been coming here to eat for at least 7 years now! We always get the Monday/Tuesday special which is a large cheese pie for $8.50. Over the years, we have gotten other items to eat as well and all the food has always been exceptional. In all the years, we have never ever had a single thing wrong with any of our food! This is a really great pizza chain on the Treasure Coast. When I went to Martin County High School, this was really the only place to get good pizza during off-campus lunch (1986-1990). Being New Yorkers, we are SUPER picky about pizza in my family. This pizza is the real deal and tastes like actual New York pizza. Another favorite of mine is Salerno Pizza, but I do prefer Big Apple. My mom still lives in Stuart, so I have been lucky enough to make frequent visits to Big Apple Pizza over the years, and still get there every couple months. I'm not sure what these negative comments are all about. There are plenty of Chick-Fil-As all over the Treasure Coast for all of you haters out there. Very quick and friendly. They close in 10 minutes and had no problem in still taking orders from other customers. Chicken wings look and taste great. The pizza I have had before and is always good. The way you like it. Wow! The owner forgot to charge me for a 2 liter and said don't worry about it. He also gave me some pointers on ordering the wings. When you lift up the topping off you see BUMPS. . the uncooked bottom of the pizza ! The slice of pizza is not supposed to fall at the pointy triangle part...if it is cooked properly. We have been going to Big Apple pizza on Federal Hwy in Stuart for as long as we live here. Which is about 15 or 16 years. We never had a bad pizza at anything which we ordered there. Our orders were either a pizza a Stromboli or subs. Always delicious. We went there last night and ordered our all time favorite pizza . I have to tell you it was the worst. The dough was stale and we do know what stale taste like. The looks of the pie was nothing like we ever purchased before there. Also all the people working there were unrecognizable especially the guy making the pizza. I don't know if that was the problem.
