I went this morning on 1/18/23 and ordered a breakfast bagel (scrambled eggs, bacon and cheese) There was one egg scrambled like a flat pancake and folded over.NOT TWO EGGS. The bacon was the kind that you get in the store that is pre-cooked and Not freshly made. The bagel was just okay. At $6.25 a sandwich, that is not good! Do not let the name sway you these are by far nothing like the bagels you would get in NYC. I was curious so I only bought 2 Everything bagels and brought them home for us to taste test. Texture was more like a roll if these were boiled and baked they didn't baked long enough but I doubt that would help. I was told by a friend, a former New Yorker to give this place a try. I do miss a crunchy but chewy crust and soft in the middle bagel. I stopped by yesterday and ordered a coffee and while I was choosing my bagel, I noticed they also made bagel twists! Oh, they got my attention now! I ordered one with butter, and although it wasn't warm, it had that chewy texture I had grown to love and miss. My bagel wasn't crunchy on the outside, as from my photos, it was baked light. But the inside texture was perfectly right. I began to enjoy my bagel in this restaurant, which offers muffins and cupcakes, as well as juices, and I think I can recall some yogurt, but I'm not certain. Tables and stark wooden chairs are provided at regular and bar height. I forgot to inquire about wifi, but I will check on my next visit, and believe me, there will be a next visit. I give this 4 1/2 stars, but they won't let me cut it in half, because none of the bagels are well done and the seating is not comfortable. But next time I go, I'll call the night before and ask if they could make well done bagels for me in the morning. Also, I think if they put in a couch and table for more comfortable seating, that would be really nice. read more

Well went in a few moments ago and ordered a sandwich and coffee. I ordered a white chocolate turtle mocha large ( specialty coffee) and a northern omelet sandwich. What I got was a medium regular turtle mocha ( not filled all the way and a sausage egg and cheese). All because the old hag who took my order has a hearing disorder. So even though I paid for the large and a certain sandwich I was cheated out. I didnt have time to wait for another. This isn't the first time but it will be the last. Not to mention the fact my sandwich was done long before my coffee was. People need to get their shit together and pay attention to what the customer is saying. read more

This is the first time we've tried this bagal shop since moving to Murrell's Inlet, We had a 2 for 1 coupon for a Breakfast sandwich, Tasty but very light on the ingredients. I had the jalapeno bagel BLT and my girl had a onion bagel BLT. On each was one very small piece of bacon and one thinly cut tomato. Service was prompt but wasn't asked which flavor of coffee I wanted. Very expensive for dozen bagels...is it me or is $17 way high for a dozen? read more

We have been going here for emergency take out breakfasts for ever. Something is up. This is amateur. I could do better shopping at Walmart and cooking in the microwave. Prices went up and quality tanked. My "Southern" had what looked like a single slice of Kraft for American cheese. Everything looked like it came out of a Costco package. I admit to being skeptical when I first saw Big Apple Bagels near the Piggly Wiggly supermarket. Big Apple? New York references are challenging for certain ethnic oriented foods that originate in The City. Still, I was willing to give it a go. I would know quickly whether the name was deserved, or just a pretender. Much to my pleasure, Big Apple is the real deal. It offers up large bagels with many options, both traditional (plain, onion, sesame, poppy) and some very original (French toast). They are the right texture; firm on the outside, leading to a softer chewiness on the inside. Totally satisfying. Please excuse my initial reluctance to believe. I am converted. Got 2 bacon, egg and cheese on plain bagels. Honestly, they were delicious! Even toasted, the bagels were a little chewy. The cheese was melty and gooey, and the bacon was on the chewy end. We've had some of the best Italian food in the US and in Italy. This place rivals any we've had. Reservations are strongly recommended. It's OK. The bagels are flavorless. It is no where near a New York bagel. They taste like frozen, proofed bagels. Having been a bagel maker I can tell the difference. It's fine for what it is but don't expect a true bagel here. The muffins are also from a box. Nothing is made fresh here. It's a chain and if that's ok with you, enjoy. read more
