Needed a small backpack with f Hydration inserts. Needed enough room for snacks. The employee was so helpful in assisting me with what i needed. I also needed the pack for the next day. read more

The worst Came in on Xmas eve to buy some men's size 10 slippers, and unfortunately the ones that I wanted they only had a display shoe. I asked the guy if he can give me a discount and he said they don't discount shoes because if you drop a shoe nothing happens to it but I'm sitting here looking at the zoo and it's all busted up and I even asked the second person if they could discount it, but they were really being an ass about discounting the shoe, he seem like he was having a big bad day anyway Nick must have been the manager because they all kept asking him if they could give the discount, but he refused and actually had the audacity to come over and look at them and say nothing they didn't even put the shoe back in the box and they are scuffed I am like worn because everyone's fingers have been touching them given they are the display shoes I'm probably gonna be taking them back and never shopping here ever again. Really charged me 34$ he was acting like they were already in sale or something oh no I rather take my money else where! You might want to hire a new manager he costing you money and customers !!!! Disgusting read more

Went in here looking for a weight bench. Don't know why, I have been in before and left because prices were always too high.m This time I couldn't even tell what the prices WERE... it was just cluttered stacks of haphazardly placed inventory, with no pricetags. So I left and ordered on Amazon. Won't be back in here again. How does this place stay in business?? read more

Big 5 Sporting Goods - Cluttered, dirty stacks with no pricetags in sight - Sporting Goods Near Me - Napa, California

Herb really went above and beyond with his customer service. I have a back injury & I've been looking for a nice brace, he pointed me in the right direction. He made sure I was taken care of & knew all the specs of the product. I didn't feel rushed. I felt comfortable conversing! I even picked up a few other items I needed! This store is super convenient and Herb was A+ with customer service! read more

Normally a customer experience but not this time. 3 employees at the register and all 3 were complaining and whining. No hello and no good bye as we left. We came here for chairs to sit on at the ocean beach. As we walked threw the store I noticed plenty of customers but no staff helping anyone. We found the chairs and that isle of the store was disorganized. Different price points and weight requirements all mixed together. We read all the tags and even tried looking up on the website before asking for help. The guy that my wife brought back was a un helpful and had a piss poor attitude or body language as if he didn't even want to help and after he realized like we did that a lot of the chairs had no weight limits on them and no organization amongst them he quickly was back to the front register to socialize more with fellow employees. We looked around on our way out and found many chairs of the same kind all stacked and leaning against the knife counter. Had he suggested those we would have bought 2 at the $100 price point. Instead we took his advice and went to Walmart. I was not going to spend money we're I was treated like that. Listen this is Napa we have money in this town and the customer service is astounding almost anywhere in Napa. With Walmart and Sweeney's in town both of which give better service and prices, you need to fight for your customers and their money . The corporate should retrain the manager to retrain the employees. If 3 are at the register doing nothing a reallocation and time management program is needed. My suggestion, 1. 1 on register, 1 handling phones or restocking,1 helping customers. If they need encouragement to leave personal-matters at home or they feel like any place is better than helping people at work then maybe a better hiring manager is needed . Something is wrong here our 200 and how many other 200-600 purchases were missed that weekend. read more

Manager: Anthony is awesome and has always kept if clean, stocked and is so profesh!

Who doesn't like it BIG? Napa's Big 5 isn't all that big... and if you're looking for shoes, its Payless neighbor is superior, as are the outlets. If you're into sporting goods, the enormous Dick's in Petaluma is far superior... they've got everything. Big 5 has gotten ratty over the years. It could use some serious cleanup. They once had a good selection of work shoes on sale, not anymore. The service is meh. This place won't get you pumped up- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3r4q1GpmKog Not the place where He-man would get 500 pound dumbbells. read more

If I could give a 0 star review I would purely on customer service. Hubby and I came in the store too three employees standing around the counter looking at us as we came in didn't say hello but continued to talk crap about someone just leaving. We found the travel chairs but only one type had the max weight it could hold. I went to the counter and the chick looked at me didn't say any thing as she went back to the phone the scruffy guy was checking some one out and the clean faced one walked past me without saying any thing to me. I asked if he could help me and with an a couldn't be bothered attitude said "just a second." When he finished helping some one of the phone he came to the area we were at checked the website and then did what we did and checked the tags on the chair lied about the weight limit being 225. There was no weight on the tags. told us to go to Walmart. We walked out without so much as a good day thank you for coming. We would of bought the $99 chairs if he had pointed them out and suggested them. We did end up at Walmart finding what we needed spending less and getting better customer service. We have experienced so much better customer service here in the e past it's a shame that we had to experience the shock of 3 bad employees. read more

This is, I guess, the local Napa version of Dick's Sporting Goods or Modell's (Gott Go to Moe's - just had to add that). 391 locations spread throughout 12 western states. I needed (okay, wanted) to get some golf balls and a glove since I was going to play Silverado. So rather than pay crazy country club prices I finally found a sporting goods store in Napa. Packed full of stuff (except golf gloves). Decent prices. But crammed full of stuff. Crammed. Felt like a garage sale kind of atmosphere. But I got some Nike balls (no glove) and was on my way. read more

Visited Big 5 Napa location as I was in the area. Very organized store and well stocked. Employees greeted us upon entering the location and asked if we needed help. Always like shopping at this chain as shoe selection and clothing options are excellent. Check out was seamless and pleasant. Will definitely visit again when in the area. read more

I popped in to check out the Warrior's gear. I was not greeted or asked if I needed help as I walked all around the store trying to quickly find a Christmas gift for my daughter. All the Warrior's gear was hung high on the wall above the front doors. As I stood there by the registers straining my neck, the 2 girls right there behind the counter just continued to talk with each other. "Excuse me do you have get that hoodie from up there if I want to see it" Yeah, or there's a rack over there with some stuff, then I thought she was going to maybe get a hook, but no. No would you like me to take one done, what size? I asked about another item, then another indifferent answer. Now I'm annoyed! So I left, went to another store and paid $30 less for a hoodie. I was willing to pay up to $60. Those young ladies need to learn customer service. read more

Really hate this Big 5. First time at this location and they were rude as hell. The cashier (Caucasian skinny male with glasses and short hair) seemed like he didn't even want to help us. He had an attitude and he threw the pen at my fiancée to sign up for the "E-Team" like excuse me... & we were the only ones in line and he didn't even greet us or ask if we were ready. Another lady came during the transaction super rude and she wasn't even apart of the transaction. DO NOT COME HERE. They are RUDE AND HAVE 0% CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

This place sucks. Napa really has nothing like it so thats where people go. But every time I go the staff is unhelpful, no one is around to ask a question too. So it needs to be shut down revamped and reopened maybe new staff would help and a face lift. read more

Mediocre sporting goods store with low prices (that's the good part). Doesn't open until 10am, which is bizarre for an athletic store. The employees are not very friendly, as well, and they act as if they'd rather be somewhere else. Selection limited. For a sporting goods emergency only. read more

This place is pretty ghetto. The guys servicing the sneaker department are a joke. They are slow....super slow and obviously not the smartest people. Equally bad is the selection of shoes. When l remarked that the clerk that was helping us must have gone on a lunch break to his colleague, the colleague responded that they were busy. I should have busted out laughing, as there was only one other customer looking for shoes for a total of two customers in their department -- basically one for each shoe clerk! If that's busy, I hate to see what a third customer would have done to that operation. Would they each service one foot? Probably! Save yourself time and money and head out of town for your sporting needs. The guys here are clowns! read more

Small store with a lot of product. As Napa has very few options when needing camping supplies, buying a local team's T-shirt for a game or picking up swimming stuff, this is the place to go. Thus, I give them three stars for convenience because I don't have to leave town to get what I need. However, the service is just OK and the store is a bit run down and cramped. read more

They were out of my size in a pair of shoes so they offered to order it for me. The paper they gave me clearly stated that they'd call me when the shoes came in. Three weeks later and no phone call, so I went to the store and the shoes were there, but I was never notified. They never called my mom either when she ordered shoes in the past. That's not what I would consider acceptable customer service. read more

Recently bought a pair of shoes for work here, I am a very hard person to deal with, I am indecisive when buying shoes and can take forever to pick a pair out, but the staff at this location were awesome, very customer friendly!!! read more

There's a new woman & a younger man that have great customer service. I never go to Big 5 for anything & the one & only time I get a smart mouth who claims the reason why he's such a smart ass is because he's been there for awhile... maybe one of the younger, more polite two can get a raise & he can go find a new job. & a new attitude. read more

Ridiculous. We went in to get a water polo ball and they had one left that had obviously been a return - the box was tore up, there was even a footprint on it. I brought it up to the cash register to see what kind of a discount they would offer since I saw the exact ball online for $20 cheaper and they said 10% would be the best they can do. Guess we're taking our business online. This place needs a good overhall. Or better yet, maybe they can just get rid of it and put in something better! read more

It depends what you go in for, but my rating would go from ok to awesome. Some prices, such as their prices on firearms, are very competitive and reasonable. However, If you go in to buy something like a bucket of baseballs or running shoes, they try to leech pennies out of you wherever they can. That being said, the selection here is very good, and it remains one of my favorite sports outfitter because of convenience. read more
