I was in Napa and happen to be at Bel Aire Plaza and realized Lark Shoes was here. I work in physical therapy and refer people here all the time for shoes and foot orthotics, but have never been to this store before, so I took opportunity to check them out. They have a good selection of supportive shoes such as Vionic, Dansko, Birkenstock, Allbirds, Topo, Born, etc. They do have some athletic shoes, but not as many as other supportive shoe stores. They sell mostly women's shoes, but they do have a small selection of men's shoes. Staff were very nice and helpful with any questions I had for them regarding the different orthotics they sell as well as questions about their different shoe brands. I would recommend coming here if you have some feet issues and are looking for a good pair of supportive shoes or foot orthotics. read more

I bought a pair of Danskos through Amazon. They were the correct size (I have owned over 20 pairs) of 37. They were obviously sized incorrectly and were probably a 38 or 39. I messaged Lark back through Amazon and never received a response. I then called the store in Napa directly (I live locally). The salesperson was nice and did get back to me. But she said that the manager told her that there was nothing that they could do to remedy the problem. read more

The worst customer service .I've never made a yelp review but this guy Steven was the biggest dick. I bought a pair of defective Birkenstocks and they refused to switch them out for a new pair.3 hours of wear and a huge slice on my foot. I've shopped here for years and has my whole family. This store is great. They have a good selection of Dansko, Birkenstock, Blundstone, Kork-Ease etc... They carry comfy shoes that have some flair and appeal, they are high quality shoes that are not dowdy. Every time I go in the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Think about it. Would you rather buy shoes at Lark and support a local business - or buy them from a conglomerate company whose magnate bought a $500+ million dollar yacht. Lark Shoes is a better choice. read more

They had a very good selection of quality non slip shoes as well as shoes for all occasions. I'll for sure be making the drive back there when I need shoes. I been debating on writing this review but it has been bothering me for the past week. My mother and I stopped by last Sunday around 4 pm. As we walked in there was no one at the store other than two employees and none of them acknowledged us. We didn't really think much of it until another customer walked in and she was greeted and asked if she needed help right away. My mother and I are Latinas and we felt discriminated by the employees as the customers that walked in were not the same skin color as us. We ended up purchasing a pair of $170.00 work boots and left the store disappointed as this was our first and last time purchasing anything from here. I hope that employees are trained properly in the future to better accommodate all customers. read more

I went in earlier today and the sales people greeted me and then gave me a few minutes to browse before asking me if there was anything I wanted to try on. Myra ended up helping me and was patient with me trying on a whole bunch of different boots and shoes and even suggested other things similar to what I was trying. I have a challenging sized foot to find shoes for (women's 10.5) but they had a good selection of things in my size. At the end I also mentioned that I had been thinking of trying out new insoles in the shoes I walked in wearing and Myra immediately pulled out a pair of insoles that fit my shoe perfectly and made my existing shoes more comfortable and supportive! It wasn't cheap but I guess quality products and helpful people are worth paying a bit more for. Will definitely be shopping here more in the future! read more

While on vacation in downtown Seattle I searched high and low for the right pair of boots and came up empty handed. We finished up the tail end of our vacation in Napa and I decided to try my luck at this shoe place just for the heck of it. Having never been here before I was pleasantly surprised by all the top orthodic brands they offer (i.e. Ecco, Clarks, Dansko, Noat, Keen, Vionic, Aetrex and the list goes on....) Much better selection than Walking company by far. Immediately greeted by Maria who was such a pleasure and brought out any and every style I wanted to try. Natashia was also great in giving me feedback when I just didn't know what boots to get. I ended up buying two pairs just because every pair I tried on was great. I eventually returned one of the pairs the next day (had buyer's remorse) and they didn't make me feel bad about it at all. Certainly lived up to their bad reputation! I purposely missed pronounced Vivonic shoes that I asked for after looking about (like chickens do when looking for something) of the 3-4 workers- the one girl who was helping the only other customer asked me "how are you doing?" and pointed to the display. I then looked around the store for about 5 more minutes- NO one asked to help or assist me. Shame- I was 14 years old and was a far better salesperson/identifier of "purchaser" than any of the "sales" reps. You go INTO that store knowing a person is going to drop at LEAST 250! Fast,friendly service. Lists of higher end great quality shoes. Had my size,my style ,color and also other choices to choose from. I could spend a lot in there on a visit If I had the means. I'll be back for some Keen High top boots, & maybe a high quality casual slip on. Highly recommend. This shop does carry really nice name brands. However, I have been in a total of three times over the past couple of years, and walked out empty-handed each time. The service stinks. I find the associates to be snotty, unfriendly and unhelpful on each occasion, and on all three visits, they've watched my well-behaved 5-year-old daughter like a hawk, giving me the impression that this is not a family-friendly store (even though they carry children's shoes). In fact, on our last and final visit, my daughter, out of curiosity stepped on a sensor on the floor (I believe one that reads your feet and tells whether you under or overpronate, etc.), which triggered the "test" to begin on a TV screen. The associate promptly yelled at my daughter to get off of it - She did not ask her to get off or kindly tell her - she YELLED. Now, most children know not to touch anything in stores, but if you slap a sensor in the shape of two feet right smack in the middle of the floor, kids are going to want to step on it. Three attempts to shop here is enough for me and I have no desire to return in the future. I always try to shop locally and support Napa's small businesses, but I can find the same items at REI for a fraction of the price WHILE receiving excellent customer service at the same time. read more

They have the worst hours for working people, they're pushy with sales or they just completely ignore you. Natasha was very dismissive when I asked a question about a pair of dansko's they had, and seemed as though she'd rather be somewhere else since she was talking to another employee more than any customers. I can buy shoes cheaper online, but I wanted to support locally... guess I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Very happy with my 2 shopping experiences here. Victor was a HUGE help and he is an excellent salesman (zero pushiness). When I took the Vionic shoes home, and went on quick errands with the new shoes, they cut into the back of my ankle. And they were perfect in the store and inside the home! I took them back, not for a refund of course - as I wore them outside, but just to see if they had a solution. They took them and 'softened' them in the back somehow. For some reason I haven't been to this store even though it's been here for a while. I walked in and was amazed at the variety of upscale shoes that are good for your feet. From Birkenstocks to Tao the shoes are beautiful. The service was the same. I must've tried on 12 pairs of shoes and these ladies were just as amazing from the first to the 12th pair. I also wasn't sure about a color and without even asking they were on the phone finding another store that had them in stock, and had them delivered the next day so I could try them on with no sales pressure. Everyone was so helpful giving me insight in regards to sizes and styles. I have wide feet so it isn't easy finding supportive cute shoes although there were many choices here. I am thoroughly disappointed with Lark Shoes and their customer service. About 4 days ago I bought a second pair of Birkenstocks from them, and a Dansko clog. I wasn't 100% sold on the Birk and the woman told me I could wear them in my house, and should I want to return them, that would be fine. 2 days later, I had worn them in my house for an hour and got a blister. So I returned them and the owner told me that they wouldn't take them back. I asked why and she said, "they look worn (the inside of the Birk had my toe marks, the soles were fine) and I can't sell them. Birkenstock won't take them back. Do you want me to lose money on them?" I looked at her astonished and repeated what the sales lady who sold me the shoes and was standing in front of me told me about wearing them at home. She backed my story up, but the owner was too stuck in her ways to provide customer service that was acceptable. Long story short, she refused taking my Birkenstocks back, and stuck me with shoes that give me a blister. I am sorely disappointed and won't be giving them anymore money, nor will I recommend them to anyone in town. I truly try to shop locally as much as possible, but won't be doing that any longer. This is a small, individually-owned shoe store with amazing, personable sales persons. I have had a wonderful time each time I've shopped there (Which sorry to say for my wallet, is way too many!). I have gained much knowledge with regard to shoes, especially Ugg and Birkenstock brands. The owner occasionally has a Dansko representative on site, who also taught me an insane amount regarding Danskos and how to make leather shoes work for you. It's not a type of shoe that you can wear for a full 8 hour shift the first time around, you have to "break" them in, similar to Berks, and get them shaped and comfortable for your type of foot. The customer service is amazing. Each worker there is unique and has a different style, but when they're busy--they still try super hard to check in back for your size/style. If they don't have it-they always offer to order from one of their sister stores! I appreciate that they try to substitute style or color when they're missing the specific kind I want, just to see if at least the size works, prior to ordering from another store or online even! They also guarantee repairs on shoes that you buy from them. I once bought an Ugg and noticed it had a slight looseness in one of the external threads. Their repair man fixed it right up and made it look as good as new! The owner is totally straight-forward, as a small business owner, and to be honest-cuts the BS, which is super refreshing. She either tells you how she can help, or says she cannot. So no one's time is wasted. I think she and all her associates are wonderful and polite, and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a legitimately good shoe. It's worth the extra buck, as it lasts longer and is made in a higher quality compared to shoes at Payless. Nurses--get your Danskos here. Napkins--get your Uggs here! Winery workers, legit--get your blundstones and work boots here! Then go get a Javiva Blended Coffee at Peet's a couple doors down! read more

I just had another super experience at Lark's Shoes. I walked in and both of the staff greeted me and asked if they could help me find something. I explained that I needed new athletic shoes for walking with great support and they immediately suggested the Hoka's. Tiffany brought out three pair for me and the first pair I tried on was heaven. Then I moved to replacing my Dansko's and found a pair. They seemed a little looser than my regular pair and so Tiffany brought out the next size down and tried to find me another pair of the same size because they are hand made and another pair may be a tiny bit different. She was happy to bring out any shoes I wanted and did so with a generous smile. To me that is wonderful customer service and definitely above and beyond. I love to shop local and I have always had good experiences with Lark Shoes. Additionally I saw them spraying and wiping down my chair as I left which gave me peace of mind and shows they care about their customers. You can shop online but please buy at Lark Shoes. read more

11/2014 I went in looking for baby Uggs. Not acknowledged or greeted. When I was helped they had to order the shoes from another store which was nice. I had a coupon for $15 off boots but was told it wasn't valid with baby or kids boots. When I went back to get the boots I tried to use the coupon again and was told the same thing. It doesn't say anywhere on the coupon that it doesn't apply to baby and kids. Apparently the mark-up isn't enough. I felt the restrictions should be noted on the coupon and said so. There is the nicest manager working there. I cannot say her name but she was very helpful, professional and pleasant. It really makes a difference when you get help like I was able get at the store especially when things are so busy with the holiday shoppers!
