We were given a nice little corner table away from foot traffic. There was a large flat surface that separated our table from tables in an area a few steps up. That surface was so dusty you could write in it. Our server was efficient but not super friendly. The food itself was good but not great which is what I expected in that area. Biffi is located in one of the main corridors of the Galleria at the Duomo! The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered sea bass with tomatoes and capers along with a dinner salad. The sea bass fillets were flavorful covered with tomato sauce. I felt an explosion of flavors in my mouth. The salad came without dressing but with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Great experience in a prime location. I lucked out with a window view of the Galleria. This made the experience for me! Really good service during the rush of a lunch crowd. Really enjoyed the Macheroncini pasta with Arrabbiata red sauce. It was quite tasty and full of flavor. I really enjoyed it. Oh, for an app, the Bruschetta was really good. I enjoyed the flavors from the tomatoes. I added some table side olive oil to compliment the dish. Google tells me arrabbiata means "angry" in Italian or spicy in this case. The staff were super friendly and everyone said hello as we were entering, we had a selection of table from a few open choices and the ambiance was friendly and inviting Their gnocchi was to die for! Several tables around us had ordered this as well & for very good reason! Creamy, cheesy and the little pillows ere perfectly al dente. Second dish was the trofie pasta with pesto sauce. This was a hand cut short pasta that was likewise perfectly al dente. The pesto was super flavorful with lots of yummy basil tones. For the other reviewer that complained that the pesto was oily.......well.......it's made with oil so not sure how you'd avoid that but thanks for the laugh Fast service, didn't feel rushed, wonderful pasta - love all around! read more

This is a beautiful place to dine and relax . The servers in particular "Nicolas" were very pleasant and helpful with the menu . I ordered the Branzino , Tortelloni with Ricotta and Spinach and for starters we had the bruschetta. Everything in this restaurant is delicious. After viewing Leonardo Da Vinci's "The Last Supper," Diane and I walked to the Galleria, and found what looked like a nice, intimate place with an appealing menu where we could dine al fresco. Accompanied by two large bottles of Pellegrino still water, I greatly enjoyed a bowl of hot Verdure Soup containing peas, carrots, green beans, tomato, Cannelini Beans, spinach, zucchini, and potatoes, accompanied by an unusual flakey white roll. Al dente penne lathered with Cream Sauce was delicious, while Spaghetti Carbonara lovingly fashioned with egg, bacon, freshly made pasta, and a velvety Cream Sauce was simply great. The food was completely forgettable. They put bread on the table that is clearly not fresh and manufactured and charged €6 each person for it. We ordered a mixed salad to share. It was not enough for one person - romaine lettuce, shredded carrots and two cherry tomatoes with olive oil and balsalmic vinegar €9. We got the pasta all'Arrabbiata, known for being a spicy sauce. There was no spice, no salt. Just bland tomato with penne you buy at the grocery store. We also ordered the lasagna that seemed to be homemade and was actually tasty but the presentation could be compared to cafeteria slop in a middle school. After ordering two coca colas (€7 each) paying for the bread that seemed complimentary and a salad that couldn't fill a small child, the bill came to €90 for two people. Total scam. read more

We decided to stop in after our visit to the Cathedral. The service was ok. The food was quite basic without flavor. The steak was under cooked. The marinara sauce tasted like Ragu. I was very underwhelmed by this place. The price was extravagant and the food was sub par. I think they are relying heavily on their location to be sufficient enough. I had the Caesar salad and it was if they had taken all the ingredients and plopped them in a bowl (pictured). The Parmesan cheese was sliced thick in large blocks, the chicken tasted as if it had been frozen in chunks, and the lettuce was almost whole. I would avoid this place at ANY COST. I wish we read the reviews before coming here. 1. We made dinner reservations for five people and showed up a few minutes early. When we got there, we told the host we have reservation but that only four people were joining. The host (an older man with an extreme attitude) clearly didn't understand and we kept clarifying that we were only four people and were a little bit early (the entire restaurant was empty so wouldn't be a problem). He proceeded to make fun of us in our faces which we understood. He went on making fun of us for the first few minutes of us sitting down to the waiters. I was staring back and the other waiters noticed that we caught on and just kept looking down. 2. Food was ok nothing special 3. Extremely expensive for no reason 4. When we went to paid, the waiter pressured us to leave tip (which isn't a common custom in Italy) and was hovering over us to make sure we were doing so. Horrible experience. You are paying over the odds but we were happy with the taste and you can not criticize thd portions. We went there Sunday night looking for a great pasta restaurant and we were really disappointed. The pasta was nothing special at all. Even the pasta at the Cheesecake Factory in the US are much better. The service was horrible. The server never came to ask us how the meal was. They also automatically tack on 6.5 Euros for each guest as so called "service." The meal came with bread and it was disgusting. It wasn't even in any plate or basket. It came over with just tongs and smacked onto our plate! The bread wasn't warm or anything....just small and harden. I can't believe this place even exist in the biggest attraction place. read more

I was way too hungry to look up reviews so I picked the first restaurant I saw with a menu remotely decent. So I ended up in biffi beside the duomo. I ordered the lasagne and to be in Italy in the oldest "shopping mall" in the world wasn't impressed! They need to rethink the restaurants they have in that area. The lasagne was too burnt to even enjoy and I don't feel like it was saucy enough. If I remember correctly I also like a 6€ bread tax too that I surely wasn't expecting. read more

To be honest, after reading some of the bad reviews on here, I have to disagree. I travel to Milan twice a year for work and each trip is about 4-5 days and I will always stop to eat there at least once and sometimes even twice. It is in a typical tourist trap area but it really is one of the best pastas that I have had while being there and very fresh too. The portions are generous and the staff is very attentive and nice. One time, a waiter even called to arrange our taxi ride at 4am to the airport because we don't speak Italian. My favorite is the bolognese pasta because that is my go-to must have while in Italy meal but the asparagus risotto is sooo delicious as well. The Milanese Ossobuco is really exceptional as well. Their olive oil and vinegar is so good too that I asked if they sell them and luckily they do, under their own Biffi label! Be aware of the hefty cover charge, but cover charges are all over Europe. Nothing has prepared us to the outrageous service tax - 26 euro that was added to 57 euro bill!!. According to the host they charge 6.5 euro per person for service. It was quite obvious that he doesn't accept the restaurant's policy as he looked very embarrassed when he was trying to justify it. We had a great meal there yesterday. The place is definitely overpriced and there is a 6.50/pp cover charge but the food and service were good. Also, the cover charge is mentioned on the menu but not on the one put outside. Overall we were happy with our meal. read more
