I feel like Bierhaus is a place worthy of two separate reviews, so I'm going to write it as such: I. Bierhaus has the best burgers in Lubbock. I am not even going to front with you. Their buns have such a sweetness to them mixed with a sharp and well-cooked patty, American cheese (a must in a cheeseburger), and their haus sauce that is like a thousand island style sauce that all combines into a delight. It always has a hefty weight to it and a well balanced amount of tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. How do you explain the concept of a burger? It's really just something special. I like coming here for lunch. It's a bar at the end of the day, but their burgers are what make me want to come back. Many times in college, a friend would suggest Bierhaus, and I would tell them yes only if we got there before their kitchen closed because I needed a burger. They also give you a ton of fries. More fries than you'll ever need with a burger. That's awesome. Being in Texas, you see a lot of places offer a patty melt similar to the ones at Whataburger. A lot of places try to make a higher version dupe of a patty melt, and I think it always falls flat, but Bierhaus's does a pretty good job of being its own thing. Thank you for good food, Bierhaus. I don't think it's a place to end up if you're hitting multiple spots, but I find it endearing as a warm up spot or a one and done on a chill night. The two story indoor space can be loud, but there's a lot of booths for hanging around and chatting, with plenty of TVs. The outdoor patio has a different energy with swings, large tables, and a DJ. They always have a great selection of beers and good deals to go around. It was one of the few bars in Lubbock to offer cans of peebers (PBRs), which was always exciting for me. Amazing place but management needs to be at least slightly involved. Male server was great, but the zombie looking girl in pajamas who sat on the ground against the exterior bar beer fridge 5/19/26 pm shift (obviously hungover and doesn't care) most of the time was doom scrolling right in front of the bar computer while obviously ignored 2 of us directly in front of her (growing to the point of almost insulting her to attempt to gain attention while there's 10 people in the whole establishment) kept asking for a drink order while blatantly ignoring us. Once acknowledged she spat off saying we never asked her. Do I need to grab you by both ears and shake you to order a drink? Well, we could start with surly service. It started surly and never improved. Then, my chicken tenders came out burnt. They were fried what seemed to be about 10 minutes too long. I couldn't believe they would even consider giving these to a customer. Then, drink machines upstairs didn't work. All in all, a pretty horrible experience. I won't be back. read more

This place was good to go before the football game. Plenty of room and pretty decent food. The drinks were good, and the service was great. I will say it is very loud - so much so that my watch kept warning me that I was in danger of temporarily losing hearing from the volume in there! That was crazy. I'm sure being at the football game was even worse, but just a heads up if you're looking for a quiet place for a meal. I wouldn't skip going back here when I go back to tech, but maybe sitting outside would be better for anyone wanting to have a conversation. Sounds like this place is a hit or miss after reading the reviews! We love the food. Great shrimp tacos and a good burger. The atmosphere is great. Dog friendly on the patio. Swings to sit on at the bar. I didn't have a ton of interactions with the workers, but none of them were considerably negative. The worker at the door was taking his job very seriously with checking ID's even at 4oclock on a Thursday. I'm 21+ with a genuine Texas ID and he gave me some weird stern looks. Bier Haus has the juiciest bacon cheeseburger on a brioche bun and there is no better pairing then their fresh cut fries. I start drooling every time I think about going back. The food is piping hot and never disappoints. I would compare it to little woodrows, but it is more quaint than that. Generally pretty slow during the afternoons and like all places gets a little more hopping in the evening. If you have never been, try a Capri-fun or everyone's all time favorite the prickly pear margarita. You will not regret it! read more

I was so sad today because I really enjoy this place to eat. It's so close to my work and I would have meetings there all the time. I purchased a 11.00-dollar pretzel that was so hard my mouth hurt. I tried to overlook that it was extremely overcooked by just eating the top, but I couldn't even bite into the top. When I called to get a new one and to let them know that it was hard, they said no. The person at the counter blamed it on me, you might have let it sit too long, but I am less than one minute away. It was still hot when I picked it up and sat down to eat it at my desk. I like this place. The food is good and has fun atmosphere. Beer is overpriced but not terrible. The biggest complaint I have is that there are like a dozen TVs in the place but I couldn't get any employees to change any of them from a movie on silent to the NBA playoffs. We were able to bring our new puppy, Alfredo and sit on the patio having brew house style beers and delicious pricklyBier House Burger pear margaritas. Prices are reasonable and I love their menu, I can't wait to go back and try several dishes. We shared their loaded fries appetizer and it's not like the normal ones you get everywhere else, they're actually seasoned and piled on different and they were absolutely delicious!! Patio has a nice feel and environment. Food options are interesting and innovative. Beer selection was decent. Parking for Police and Military definetly earns at least 1 star extra than what I'd have probably gone with. But there is a lot that could use some slight adjustments: Food ordering creates an awkward process, order food then go find a table, then go to the bar to order, food arrives go back inside to find napkins and silverware.. flow felt more complicated than it needed to be. Concerns with the bar: out of 8 seats at the bar 4 of them are unusable because the POS system (register) takes up the entire bar space. 3 bartenders of which the entire time only 1 was actually working, rest standing around waiting for customers (couldn't they be going out trying to get tables to order another round to up the sales) bartenders also were not very knowledgeable on the beers available (a pet peeve of mine on "beer" establishments) and lastly on the bar was the fact that there was only the one space designed for customers to come order drinks and when employees hang out there chatting makes it feel less than approachable. While the patio has a relaxing environment there's a lack of good seating if you're eating, only 6 tables, and the guys cleaning the tables off had more than half the tables dirty without cleaning them off for 10+ minutes (our table didn't get cleaned off till they brought our food) the "charging tree" is cool but at the same time without stools becomes dead space for eating. And lastly... owner having one of the front reserved parking spaces leaves a bit of a bad taste in one's mouth. I would suggest a good read "Leaders Eat Last" that would help one understand why this leaves a bad vibe as one of the first impressions. Overall: I would come back, probably in a couple months hoping some things continue to get ironed out because I like the overall vibe and concept. read more

I came here after work to grab a drink before heading home. The staff is rude and unwelcoming unless you're their best friend walking in. They accepted cash from the person in front of me and then told me they didn't have a cash drawer, and then accepted cash from their friend behind me. An associate who bussed tables saw me coming down a walkway and instead of waiting, he stood in front of me and expected me to move. Lots of rude experiences wrapped into one hour of being there. We had High hopes for this place. We will be back in Lubbock soon and were trying to scope out places. We got there and were ignored by the wait staff. We had our dog with us which the place is dog friendly on patio. Eventually we obtain our own menus and figure out what we want and waited by the outside bar. Where we were then helped. Ordered the food. Waitress brings out 4/5 of our meals and one was wrong. So she takes it back to have it fixed. It comes back and the kids chicken strips still missing. But waitress was busy talking to her sorority friend and she neglected to bring my daughter her lunch mean while rest of us done.
