There's definitely better Mexican food to be had in Lubbock, but if you are looking for a place to have some food and knock back a couple of beers this is definitely a good option. I'm in LOVE!!! This is by far the best restaurant I've gotten to try in Lubbock in ages. I was a bit uncertain because of the proximity to Tech as I figured this would be a trendy college bar, but I'm thrilled I gave it a chance. There was a bit of a wait, but nothing extreme, and the staff was very courteous and helpful. The atmosphere was fantastic, and I found myself vibing to the music, even if I couldn't understand the words. I enjoyed all of the decor and the monopoly themed tables. As wonderful as just being there was, the food was the best part. The house margarita was exceptional and is probably the second best I've had anywhere ever (The Menger Hotel being the best). The queso was spectacular with chorizo added in. The fajitas were very, very good and the tortillas were wonderful and tasted homemade. The service was surprisingly prompt and very attentive. The prices were fair. Everyone was friendly and seemed to be having a good time. If I were to attempt to say that anything could be better, it would be so trivial as saying that the bench seats were a little tall for the table. That's it. Overall, it was a remarkable experience. If you come here, say hi. I think this will be my favorite spot for margaritas and queso. I just need to brush up on my Spanish so that I can understand the music and finally figure out how to even pronounce this restaurant's name. read more

We got the Enchilada Poblanas and the King molcajete .... And yummy!!! We saw the sad reviews of this place, but we're rebels and do what we want ;) The drinks are decent and pretty strong, in my opinion. The food was actually really delicious! That cilantro rice is one of my favorite things in life... They brought fideo with the chips and salsa, and I'm not a big fan of it, but that's just personal preference. The service was great! they were pretty nice. They play good music, it's a little overwhelming for my liking, but if you like a bar setting this is good for you. Lastly, the food was good! The service was mixed. We asked about the foods and food allergies, and the manager was obviously trying to make up answers versus getting the facts. Speaking of manager, rolling eyes when being asked questions, and literally putting establishment at risk for lawsuits by not getting correct allergen information is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The service he provided almost made us walk. We decided to stay. The food was decent but not great, and the service was lukewarm warm friendly at best. The noodle soup way too salty. We had taco plate and the meat was scarce for a taco. With the other options in this town, and for the price, I would recommend this place for convenience only, not too choice. Roommate and I came excited to try some new food, restaurant was relatively empty and we were told it would be a 10 minute wait (which is totally fine), ended up waiting 20 (not a huge deal). Sat down and did not get greeted by any servers for about 15 minutes, put in our orders, it took about 25 for two tacos each to come out, the street corn was very over salted (and I love salt so this is rarely an issue to me), we both ordered a marg, which took about 35 minutes and came after we were pretty much done eating and were ready to leave. My roommates tacos and margarita both came out as the wrong thing. My tacos were pretty much empty which was unfortunate. The guac is good though! Food was good, the atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed the food quite well I recommend the seafood.

1st of all, I want to start off with how amazing the service was. Joycelyn was our waitress & not only was she so sweet, but always attentive. The restaurant itself is so cute!! I definitely would recommend trying this place out. The guac & queso is a must when it comes to appetizers, loved the chicharrones with the guac, the queso was great, & the michelada i got was soooooooo delicious I wanted another but I was so full. I forgot to mention they also start you off with complimentary salsa & fideo, salsa was spicy & fideo was flavorful. Last thing I want to mention is, I got the mexican enchiladas for my entree & i got an egg on top but I really love the fact that they have black beans & I chose ground beef as my protein, really good, overall this place gets 5 stars for me, I will be coming back again! read more

Hostess at the front has no clue. Was told it would be 35 minute wait. An hour and fifteen minutes later we are still waiting. My stomach has started chewing on my intestines. Had to ask the hostess 3 times to sit us down. To top it off/ the waitress in training brought me modelo after I asked for Negra Modelo. She was saved by other more experienced servers. So I was looking forward to grabbing a drink from this restaurant/bar. The restaurant is close to the dumpsters so it smelled a little funny outside. We walked in and thought, great there is no line and the restaurant is half empty so we should be seated pretty quickly! Boy was I wrong. The hostess looked at us and told us it was going to be a 30 minute wait. There was no line and half of the restaurant was empty but we have to wait 30 minutes? Make that make sense! I said no way and we left to get some drinks and food somewhere else! Either you want our business or you don't! to start with the bowl of salsa for the chips was so small it lasted maybe 5 minutes! we ordered stuffed jalapeños for an app. they were good and tasty. To start the atmosphere here is set up to be great. Beautiful interior, lots of TVs, and a very awesome drink menu. However, it took us 15-20 minutes for a server to come to our table. Me and my wife ordered a beer and a cocktail and it took almost 20 minutes for that to come out. THEN, we finally got to order food. I ordered enchiladas and she ordered 4 tacos. We also ordered the guacamole. My food came out with the Guacamole and she did not receive her food. Her food did not come out for another 20 minutes. Had high hopes for this place but management is going to have to really fix the service for this place to even stay open for a year.
