I would like to start by saying how professional Bickley's Air Conditioning was throughout this process. The owner personally came out and provided me with a quote for a new water heater. I explained my situation and how my old water heater was draining my batteries after my solar system had charged them throughout the day. After discussing my options, we decided on a heat pump water heater. Ethan and Colton completed the installation, and everything turned out great. I've had the new water heater for over a month now, and I am able to stay on solar power and battery backup without switching back to PG&E. It completely resolved my issue. Before the installation, after my family showered, we would often end up back on PG&E power. Firstly, I called and was greeted very friendly. Colton came to my home and I felt safe. Monday I got a repair estimate. He shows up again and in 5 minutes being here our heater was fixed. Wonderful! PROBLEM: Bickleys charged 171.00 dollars for a part I could buy for 30-49.99. They charged for two service calls knowing full well as professionals it could've been one. 337.60! Second time being here for 5 minutes. Beware they're estimate is the price no matter how long it takes. Total rip off, for a job I could do. When I called afterwards I got "you approved it", "we came all the way from Red Buff". Well They had two jobs in my area in a matter of an hour and a half before they came here. I had 10 Master Cools coolers installed and they scratched and dented every single one. Never showed up when they said they were. Didn't install the brand I requested. Most units are not level and now won't even tell me how to clean the pads. Worst experience I have ever had! and they tell me this is the normal protocol! I called Monday due to our heater being out. They were out Tuesday. I was really concerned that we would be told we needed a new unit due to the age of our existing. The technician was kind, knowledgeable, and conveniently had the part we needed on his truck. Long story short he was in and out in 30 mins. The part was reasonably priced too! Use them at your own risk. When quoted parts get the brand and part number. CHECK the price before allowing Bickley's to order the part and then charge what they want and not what the retail price is. The office is horrible in responding to any, and all, questions. Was billed for a 2nd service call ($96) to check out an issue after being told that my system was fine with the exception of a possible computer board problem which, reportedly, was not impacting the system. After the 2nd call I suddenly needed 2 parts and was billed $587 for parts that can be purchased via Amazon for $339. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I'm pretty sure the two techs that came out did a great job, time will tell. Customer service is very poor, beyond very poor, let's say non existent. We had the owner out a few weeks ago to look over our system. He gave us a date and time, that his techs would arrive. That time being 9 AM. My husband took the day off work. (375.00) for the day as we were told it would take all day. That the AC would be off all day and one of us needed to be home. The day comes, 9AM comes and goes, as does 10. No one shows, no one calls! I call the number and speak with Mary who has no clue. She calls the owner and calls us back immediately. HE changed it to the following day! Ooops, forget to tell the customer? The customer who took the whole day off work as that's what my husband was told! The next day comes and 2 techs show up 45 min late but at least showed. I said your " you're only 26 hours late" they chuckled and one said, " that's about right." Ok, then who will be paying the $375.00 for the lost wages for the day they were supposed to show. They both had cell phones but no one thought to call. They did clean and fix our ducts and so far it seems to be working well. For that I would give them 4 stars. For customer service, a big fat NOTHING! Just like they gave us. Didn't show up, didn't call, When the secretary doesn't even know what's going on, that's a business that's full of hot air with a big leak of a cool breeze!!! read more

I called Bickley's following a recommendation and scheduled a service for my AC unit. I live in Manton, and the lady who answered the phone confirmed they do serve my area. I waited patiently for a couple of weeks for the scheduled visit, suffering my weak AC and anxiously awaiting it to be serviced. A few days before the scheduled visit, I get a call from the same woman in the office. "I'm sorry, but due to the heatwave our technicians are busy, and we can't come up to Manton. We can come in the fall if you wish." It's a legitimate business decision to limit service boundaries. It's not legitimate to do so retrospectively. Now, there are 2 types of businesses. Those who CARE for their customers, and don't who couldn't give a ****. Guess on which side Bickley's are. And it's not really about this incident. It's a culture thing, in the company's DNA. If they don't give a **** before service, guess how much they will care after they get paid. Stay away. read more

Went through the ringer with these money hungry, incompetent, rude, cheats. They were hired to put in a new unit and do you think they might stand behind their work? They won't and don't. Once the money runs out, there gone! The son, whatever his name is, should be fired! We had to insist, that the owner's son (what ever his name is) hook his gauges to the NEW unit to check the freon levels. The gauges clearly showed the freon was low (hence the reason for the service call) and he refused to acknowledge this and walked off. If anything, they also purposely did a substandard job reattaching the old insulted flexible duct to the unit in the attack. See, this ensures that they can offer you a NEW DUCTING SYSTEM EVEN WHEN YOU DON"T NEED ONE. He kept saying "You need a new ducting system". A lot of heating and air companies like to cash $$ in on your lack of knowledge. Fortunately, we are able to crawl up in the attack ourselves and fix all the leaks. I feel sorry for all the unsuspecting people, especially the elderly that do business with them. Beware. read more

Wow! What a Godsend. I called Bickley's around 10a.m. and David showed by 11:30...THAT DAY!!! No other AC companies even returned my call. David was so professional, courteous and friendly! We spent more time after the repair was complete talking about our pets than the repair took. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with the quality of service we received and I feel like I have found a new friend with David. Sure am glad we made the connection and I sure am glad to have our AC working again. Oh, and not to mention, the price was extremely reasonable. Our Ranch chose Bickley's Heating and Air for our new heater/Air conding unit even after reading a few bad reviews here. People on internet can be cruel. Word of mouth for them was very good so My wife and I decided to call them for a bid. Mr Bickley came out to our ranch and was very professional and courteous. He took the time to explain to me what was wrong with my old unit and why he could not use it. (We were adding Air cond to our home.) They ordered a new unit for us with the right stuff in it and had it up and working within a week. They even showed us a wifi thermostat. That we could control via the internet/smart phone. I found their ad in the yellow pages wanting to set up an appointment and get a service charge quote for my central heat and air unit to be inspected. The add specifically naming my city to be in their territory. Not only could I not get a ballpark quote, she expressed how far it was and eluded to a surcharge for the long drive, also seeming to be put out to even have to answer the call. Must be nice to be able to chase away potential, patient, well financed customers. Possibly you should amend your advertising to accurately reflect your service area, or just retire as you must need more time to manage your extensive stockpile of cash. The crew at Bickley's Heating & Air have been great to work with. My first time was when Frank showed up after hours to take a look at my gas wall heater. He was able to have it heating up within minutes to keep my kids warm through the night. The next time was for an appraisal evaluation where the person believed that I did not have sufficient heat sources to warm my house. Frank came and evaluated my situation and was able to override the appraisers evaluation. Finally, when it was time to replace the HVAC unit on a rental, Bickley's had the new one installed and running in no time. Our air conditioner went out and Mary said she'd send someone between 1-3 PM 2 days out during a heat wave. No one showed up or called! We started calling at 2:45pm and was told by Mary that she'd have the driver get right back with us....no one did. Called Mary at 3:15 and she had not even got in touch with the driver yet!!!! Again...said she would call us back....AGAIN NO CALL BACK!!! After more calls and no one picking up the phone 5pm came and went. This place is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER and we will take our business elsewhere. BEYOND UNREAL!!!! Well, all I can say is Mary is a very nice lady trying to do a good job. However, the technicians that went to my house we're totally inept. The machine kept breaking. I had to have another HVAC guy come to fix the blower and found masses of dirt, dust and cat hair still in the system. Mary insisted they did a good job and completed the job.I paid them $600 to clean my vents and furnace. Did not get that at all. Had to pay someone else to do it all over again. read more

I made an appointment and they were great the 1st time they came out and the 2nd time I needed them they were good to come out.. The third time I needed my AC serviced that is when Mary canceled my appointment without telling me.. Because I have health issues, I have good days and bad days, I had to reschedule a few times during this time. On the day of the appointment nobody showed up. I called the office and Mary who works in the office told me that she put my folder in the red file that means the no longer a customer file. I asked her why would she do that.. Mary said I had canceled my last one and so she just took me off the schedule. I said I did not miss my schedule I rescheduled, and they came out. I thought it was very rude how she handled it because even if she did put me in the red folder no one called me to let me know that no one was coming out the day that I was expecting them. I was going to call and Schedule an appointment for last fall, when I talked to Mary I told her I was still upset how I was treated that I wanted to talk to the manager before I made an appointment because of the way she treated me. The owner/manager called me but left a message, he said I hear you had a problem with my office help. He said it in a rude manner, didn't leave a phone number, and never called me back. I will never call them for service again. I would not have had a problem with his secretary if she was able to handle the office. And if the manager knew what she did, which I doubt she told him she put my folder in the red folder and canceled my appointment.. and I was fearful of calling back because she may do it again.. that's why I wanted to talk to him and make an appointment with him and make sure nothing was canceled in the future. If you can handle Mary's incompetence, and a boss who didn't get to the bottom of what happened or seems to care, you may have a good experience. read more

My heater went out had an appointment with Bickley's Heating & Air. They installed a new heater but didn't finish the job. They had to come back out to finish. Put me on their schedule and never showed up. Didnt call to reschedule, i had to call them. So after all that and two weeks later, i was told i had a leak that needed to be fixed. So i still was without a heater. Now week three, i decided to turn my heater on and low and behold it worked. Whoo hoo! So today they came out to finish the "job" and now my heater doesnt work again. I wish I could give this company no stars. we were assigned to them thru pge to get our heater fixed. the first day Gretchen called and set up an appointment for the following week with a three hour time period. I made sure I was home and after no one showed up I called and talked to Gretchen again who told me to just wait because her worker would be here soon.... the worker never showed up!!! I wasted a whole day waiting for nothing so Gretchen had to put me back on the schedule for almost a month later. the second day the worker was 30 min later then his three hour window, I guess atleast he showed up. he told me that he needed to replace our heater because he couldn't fix it, so once again I had to get back on their schedule.. not so bad this time only a week out. well today they were supposed to be here at 10am to replace our heater and the worker never showed up once again I never received a phone call or anything when I finally did call Gretchen to find out if he was comeing she told be it wouldn't be until closer to 12... I guess no one thought to call the customer and let me know. when I told Gretchen I had to drive my step kids to their mothers house at 12 and would not be home and that I am very frustrated about this being my third day waiting for her worker to decide to show up when ever he wanted she told me that because pge was paying for it and not me I should just be grateful and not complain... WOW great way to give friendly customer service regardless of who is paying for it someone is. not only that it looks really bad for a company to have that kind of attitude. basicly since the money wasn't comeing out of my pocket they have no need to act like a professional company. now I am in the process of getting a new company to fix my heater. read more
