Stopped in after a manicure for a light lunch and went with the $10 bulgogi bimbop. It was a generous portion and tasty. Service was friendly and quick.

I walk past Bibimix all the time but for some reason I never stop in to try their food. I guess I'm so conditioned to head to Annandale for Korean food. However, I recently was in the mood for Korean food and didn't want to make the treck out west so I decided to dine in for dinner recently and was pleasantly surprised. My girlfriend and I tried their bulgogi bibimbap and fried chicken tender with half soy and half spicy sauce. They have a great self service bar where you can help yourself to miso soup, ban chan, and water. They food was fantastic, vey affordable, and the portions were huge. There's plenty of seating available. I recommend splitting your meal with one or two people. I look forward to stopping by more often.

A fun place to grab a Korean bowl for lunch or dinner and a plus that it's open until 9PM. I ordered pick up and took it home for a later night snack. The variety of toppings were all great and the chicken bowl was good!

Awesome. Legit for a casual order at the counter place. Self serve kimchi and spice bar is the topping. I ordered the bulgogi and it was excellent. Highly recommend.

The food is definitely substantial enough to fill you up until dinner. You definitely get what you pay for here! This dish comes with fresh veggies and noodles under the meat! The ambiance and service are great too!

This cozy little Korean restaurant serves all the classic comfort dishes. We ordered the chibap, bibimbap, and tteokbokki, and every dish was very tasty and thoughtfully prepared. Miso soup, banchan, and water are self-serve, which adds to the casual, welcoming vibe. The atmosphere is simple yet comfortable--an easy spot to relax and enjoy well-made Korean food.

I recalled enjoyed my meal here! I placed the order to go inside and it probably took 10-15 minutes but it was worth it! (You can order online in advance as well). I got the bulgogi beef over rice which had a really generous portion (as it should be for $18) and came with the beef, rice, and japchae in the bowl. I added a fried egg on top but the egg didn't look freshly made which would be my only complaint. I would definitely go back and try more menu items! Ask for a spicy sauce on top of the bulgogi and it's perfect. I also tried the matcha latte which was interesting because it was extremely creamy, more like a dessert than a typical latte. I'm not sure what it's made with but it was very sweet and creamy! The inside was nice and modern too with some seating area

Delicious, great portions, friendly staff. Best Korean food I've had in a while, going to be a regular here.

The food was delicious. It was cooked fresh. All the vegetables were crisp. The was a free fixing bar. That had fresh cut green onions which I love. The Turkish guy who greeted me was very nice and asked what I liked and helped me decide in a bowl. I would definitely come back.

Stopped by here for a quick dinner since I was craving bibimbap and it didn't disappoint. The bulgogi was exactly what I wanted and it even came with a side of miso soup which I wasn't expecting. The Korean fried chicken hit the spot too. The server was nice and helped me with the menu since it was my first time here. Good casual spot for when you're craving Korean food.

Delicious, affordable food with fantastic service and a super cute restaurant! The DC / Arlington area is sorely lacking in Korean food, and, since Annandale isn't exactly the most metro-accessible place, I've been feeling deprived of the comforting hug of soondubu jjigae, bibimbap, and all the other Korean classics. But now that I've discovered BIBIMIX, that hole in my life has finally been filled! I've ordered their soondubu jjigae on UberEats an almost embarrassing number of times, but not only is the stew itself delicious, but they do an amazing job packaging it -- the soup is placed in a plastic bowl and then in another plastic bag just in case there are any spills during transit. I admit that it's not the most environmentally friendly, but it is the most logical way to transport a hot soup. If you're able to make your way to BIBIMIX to dine in, though, you (1) avoid all the plastic of the takeout packaging, and (2) you get to enjoy the restaurant's super upbeat energy and the wonderful staff. The staff is super friendly, and I love the K-Pop blasting throughout the store. There's also just something extra homey and comforting about getting to enjoy my soondubu jjigae from a traditional stone bowl with all the banchan on the same tray. All in all, I can't recommend BIBIMIX enough, especially if you're a car-less Korean food fiend like me! It's quick, tasty, affordable, and all-around a lovely place for a simple weeknight meal.

We said heck yeahhhh, so the decision was made AMBIANCE: Big space, pretty empty as we were one of the last people to eat before they closed! They were very accommodating-- letting us know their kitchen closed at 10:30 PM and the restaurant closed at 11 PM. When we arrived, it was 945, so we weren't looking to play around. We knew what we were gonna get. Onward we went SERVICE: My girl Arieles (PRETTY sure that's what her name was) was our server! She was so sweet and got us our stuff promptly. We knew we were coming in late so we weren't gonna waste time, but she was joyful to serve us regardless and I appreciate that. So many times people are FED UP, and it shows, to be at the end of their shift (and I get it), so it was nice to have someone of good demeanor to host us! FOOD: We ordered brisket, spicy pork belly, spicy chicken, and spicy bulgogi. First time trying the spicy Bulgogi for fear that it was gonna be TOO spicy and it was not at all! To reference -- I thought the kimchi was a bit spicier than the bulgogi! So try it, flavor is amazing! Can't wait to come again. I hadn't gone to KBBQ in a long while!

The delicious smells hit directly into our faces as the front door was opened. This looks like a popular neighborhood establishment. We were greeted and seated immediately on a Wed. evening. The setting is a bit dark with neon lights and table booths with their BBQ grills arranged around the restaurant. It did feel a bit tight for my legs due to the way the BBQ grill was set into the table. Service was great. The person attending to us helped explain the menu, how to order and decide on which proteins to be brought out. He would occasionally pop over and help grill our meats when we became too busy talking instead of cooking our meals. We ordered the All You Can Eat Option A and you are given 1 1/2 hr. to eat, don't know how strict they would be with that. Unless you are truly hungry, I would order an à la carte dinner instead of the all you can eat option. I particularly enjoyed the thick cut pork belly, steamed egg and spicy tofu stew. There were a few small portions of Banchan to go with our meal and you would need to order additional side dishes of noodles or rice dishes separately from the all you can eat menu choices. There were tried and true hearty portions of meats to grill and it was quite filling. Nothing extraordinary but tasty and a nice place to visit on a regular basis if you want a satisfying Korean meal.

I'm thinking that many people who come here know already what they want, because even before we cracked open our menus, the server was immediately at our table expecting us to place our order. When we told her we weren't ready yet, she left, but came back less than a minute later and then stood there waiting for us to place our order. So I ordered the Sullangtang, which is bone broth with brisket and noodles. JP ordered the Yukgaejang, a spicy red broth with veggies and flank steak. We also ordered the fried dumplings. I don't know if the fried dumplings were vegetable or pork, but they were very good, made even better with a delicious dipping sauce. As hoped, banchan was served with our meal, but was just cubes of daikon radish (kkakdugi) and kimchi. The kkakdugi and kimchi were fresh and tasty. Even if the Sullantang recipe is traditional, I was disappointed. The broth was thin and very bland. However, I was able to jazz it up and make it into a pretty good soup by adding spoonfuls of the Yukgaejang broth and the fried dumpling sauce, plus salt and pepper. The Yukgaejang, topped with crispy noodles, was the better of the two soups. It had a lively flavor and as billed on the menu, was indeed spicy. The menu is limited, almost exclusively vegetable and beef dishes, but there is a seafood pancake and whelk (mollusk) dish. No chicken or pork dishes. Overall, our experience was decent and we would certainly consider returning. Shin Chon has plenty of off-street parking.

So was the overhead music. Guess I expected a more authentic Korean experience, but the place was more or less an Americanized Korean bistro. Still, the foods seemed authentic! We ordered a few things to share... Mandu, Dolsot Bibimbap, and this Ssam Board. For drinks, my husband got some beer (?), and I got this fruity cocktail (??). First, the positives! The Mandu was really, really good...and quite meaty! The Dolsot Bibimbap was good in that it came with a generous load of fresh veggies. Now the problems. The Bulgogi in the Dolsot Bibimbap was problematic. It was a bit too fatty...and too chunky...and just hard to eat. It was also a bit bland! They should have cut it up a bit...or provided us with proper cutlery, like a fork and a knife! This is a pet peeve of mine...but nowadays, hardly any restaurant gives you the full set of cutlery. Just fork, or just chopsticks!! Then the Ssam Board. While it looked luscious, I personally had a problem with the meat. While I love Galbi, cuts of Galbi was all-out rare. The waiter didn't even ask for our preference, by the way. If I knew it'd be prepared that red, I would have ordered something else. If it was medium-rare, for instance, I might have liked this dish. My husband prefers a much more rare cut of meat than me, yet even he thought this was too red. Also, I expected something more than raddish for sides. Not sure if this "Board" was worth $42. We also tried this Black Sesame Ice Cream dessert. I loved the flavor...but nothing too special. Service was a bit off as well. While friendly at our table, our waiter wasn't too attentive...especially in the beginning. If he stopped by our table earlier, I might have gotten them to bring back the Ssam Board to cook the meat a bit more. Frankly, I was underwhelmed with the foods, the presentation, even the service. Overall, there were just too many things amiss (or just underwhelming??)...so much so that I doubt I'll pick this place again.

Great service (oddly they're all REALLY attractive Asian guys... save for the front desk girl - and I'm a straight, married, asian male), prices are great for the quality of meat and service you get (they cook for you) They come with the little appetizer plates like most Korean restaurants do, and they all have their own little twist to them, not super vanilla but still keeping to their roots and simple flavors. The green onion one was particularly memorable Our side dishes were excellent. Cheesy corn and seafood pancake. Both come out in cast iron pan, so it's piping hot and super fresh. Corn is hella cheesy and paired great with the appetizers. The seafood pancake was DENSE - really packed with seafood and not so much filler We got their combo so it came with kimchi soup and egg soufflé. The soup was very simple, very spicy. The soufflé was a nice contrast - light, fluffy, honestly almost felt like a desert. We definitely done made a mistake because for two of us, by this time the meats were ready to be cooked, we were about 60% full - and there were 4 meats to cook through We got brisket, pork belly, bulgogi, and another beef I don't remember - ended up taking about 1/3 of it home and half the pancake Our server was attentive and busy managing other tables so it's great to see all these guys staying sharp Considering how much food we took home, the bill was quite reasonable. Eyes were definitely bigger than our stomach this time tldr; fantastic kbbq served by ridiculous hot Asian guys. You need a reservation to get a table here
