I decided to come play on the East Coast for a couple of days and reached out to Maryelle to see if she would be willing to meet to teach me how to do my make-up, since now, I kind of have to look the part. My usual look best titled 'she must have hit the snooze 10 times' won't cut it anymore. To my excitement she responded the next day and met me at my hotel. Right from the start we hit it off. She is incredibly down to earth, personable, has a great teaching style, not to mention a creative eye. We spent the afternoon together AND we went to the store to buy new make-up and brushes. I highly recommend hiring Maryelle, and putting your looks in her capable hands.

I was afraid of judging anyone from their photos bc what if the bride requested that particular style? Just because I don't prefer one type of makeup or hair doesn't mean the artist didn't deliver exactly what was requested. Some were so outside my budget I didn't even bother checking their availability. So I feel extremely lucky I found MaryElle Artistry and Kristen was free on my wedding date. Aside from absolutely loving how my hair and makeup turned out, she was a calming presence on a crazy day. My mom and sister also looked beautiful and left their lashes on the next day they loved the application so much. I would recommend Kristen to anyone in the New England area!!

Not only did he completely nail the transformation, but my hair still feels healthy and undamaged, which is amazing. Now I go back to him every six weeks, and each time he takes the time to tweak and adjust the color to get it just right. My hair tends to be stubborn and pulls brassy tones easily, but John always knows exactly what to do to get the blonde looking better. His attention to detail and commitment to getting it perfect every single time is something I really appreciate. John is also just a great person to be around. He's easy to talk to, has great energy, and genuinely cares about his clients. I constantly get compliments on how great my hair looks. If you're thinking about a color change or just want someone who truly knows their craft, I can't recommend John enough!

Yesterday I went in for a mani and pedi. I asked for a Lincoln Park After Dark dip on my hands. The manicurist was struggling with the powder not drying, and kept having to redo it. I asked her several times if I should pick another color and she said no each time. By the end, my nails still had uneven spots so she said not to worry she was going to put gel on it. She actually proceeded to put gel polish and top coat on top of my nails with the powder on them. I really didn't want gel on my hands but I didn't complain because I had sat there for so long. Last evening, I saw that most of my nails had large smudges on them. I emailed the salon and when I never got a reply, I went in this morning to have them repaired. I spoke to the owner and said I thought I just needed a new color because there was something not right with what I had got. She wanted to rewrap all of the smudged nails and I had no interest in doing the gel thing again- I don't want gel and I payed for a dip powder. I said I knew I didn't have an appt and might need to wait a bit or come back in a few- she actually had the gaul to ask me to come back on Friday. Today is Wednesday, New Year's Eve. I told her I could not wait til Friday and would need to go somewhere else to have it repaired. Well, she didn't seem to care at all so I left. Guess what? I will never be back and I won't be sending anyone to her place again.

Luckily for us, my husband's best woman had been in two weddings where she had Janis as her makeup artist. Even our mothers, who are not used to wearing much makeup or having other people do it, commented on how beautiful and glamorous they felt. And they looked it! Janis even did some light makeup and skin evening for me and my husband, which came out great for the pictures. Both Janis and her hairstylist did an excellent job of making the whole wedding party feel at ease. They have such an easygoing, friendly, and humorous nature that calms all your nerves. I appreciated, too, that she explained every step she was taking so that nothing came as a surprise. I would absolutely recommend Beautiful Faces to anyone!
