The work was accomplished but it had the worst detailing. No sense of professionalism or care for details. The contractor sub-contracted other people (the supposed carpenters). Please double check their job accomplishment. We paid to paint the doors and frames Burt they only painted the frames on the outside not the inside and not the doors. We paid for two coats of paint but they only painted once. We requested a water leak in the toilet to be fixed and they changed some parts but the leak is still present. I was looking for more than a handy man who could advise me on fixing up my place to make it even more livable and secure. From the first visit to provide me with the quote, I could already tell that I am talking to an experienced contractor, who would not easily be daunted by projects that may seem complicated for me. Thomas was punctual, professional and knows what he is talking about, someone whom I feel I could trust to handle and I gave him the contract rightway. The work done met all my expectations:timeliness, quality and good value for money. As one of the reviewers mentioned, Thomas is responsive and very efficient. I would highly recommend him to all my friends. Thank you, Thomas!

I just opened a new game store in College Park, Maryland. I needed new flooring, the walls were…read morecovered in slat racking that needed removal, and I needed the space painted. I talked to Eric and he was fantastic! He was able to get his team in quickly, the work was performed far beyond anything I'd expected, and both he and his on-site foreman were very responsive. We had two challenges, both of which Eric and his team overcame with speed, quality delivery, and excellent customer service. We were working on a tight timetable, so I was receiving store fixtures while construction was ongoing. Eric and his team were able to work around this without any problems. Second, my initial flooring choice became unavailable between the time I selected it and ordering. When this happened, Eric and I went down to Home Depot together and found another option that looked better, was higher quality, and cost less. I cannot recommend Eric and A&E construction enough! 100% would use again. In fact, I have some upcoming work that I need to do on my home. I bid this job to five other companies, but I'll just be reaching out to Eric directly on that one.

His team is very nice and the work is amazing. We had 21 different quotes and hands down felt comfortable with Eric. He won't try to price hike after a contract begins, provides detailed updates, and quickly understands what you want. Our project was as close to a gut renovation as you could get without demoing the whole place. The project turned out amazing and was done within 2 months. We moved walls, changed flooring, the entire kitchen, stairs and rail system, new ceilings, paint, trim, and so much more. On top of the great work, he provides a warranty on all his work. I highly recommend A&E for any project. I won't use any other contractor besides them.

I was especially impressed on the most recent project that included mounting of a digital photo frame. Carlos simply "wasn't having it" to mount the frame with the electrical cord showing! He expertly drilled holes and snaked the cord through the inside of the wall and back out just above the electrical outlet for an amazingly clean look. He had the finishing caps to cover the entry and exit holes too. Carlos and the crew also took a very personal interest in mounting my career memorabilia (22 plaques and awards!) beautifully in my home office. And they are undaunted by "oddball" stuff like mounting clips for a tapestry in my media room to cover unsightly electrical panels. Their excellence starts with the manager Marc who gathers a LOT of information from you (pictures, model numbers, installation videos, etc.) so that the crew arrives fully prepared. Not only are their prices very competitive, but Flatpack offers a flat RATE quote so that the crew stays until the job is completed. I'm very pleased to have found this amazing company.

Updating review on this inconsistent company. After a great first experience, I hired them a 2nd…read moretime. Completely different story. They do not stand by their work. Everyone makes mistakes, (I had specifically requested 6 brackets be installed; was told that was overkill, 4 would be plenty; it wasn't) but you communicate with your customers and you fix them. This company was interested in doing neither. Within two days of completion, the shelves they built came crashing down, inflicting further damage on my wall, closet, and adjacent mirror that was knocked off. Of course, I reached out immediately, asking that someone come back to make the necessary repairs. (Mind you: I couldn't even access my closet during this time without making it worse, nor could I move my dresser to plug back in my nightstand light, which had been knocked out in the crash as well.) It took a week to even get a response, which was basically "Oh, I didn't see your email." (Note: Their full page invoice does not include company phone number on it, so I assumed email was their preferred contact. I'm sorry you were out of the office, but maybe your business could set an auto-response email at the very least?! And maybe when you return, check your in-box?? Or better yet, follow up to assess client satisfaction after project completion?) Marc informed me that he wanted the same worker to come out and handle the repair, but that he was out of town and would reach out to schedule me by Friday of that week. I asked that he respond by phone or text (wanting to get this resolved quickly). He didn't listen, and instead emailed again, declining my request to please just send whatever worker was available sooner. I followed up a week after that, only to understand I'd been forgotten about again. I tried a third time. Three weeks later (it has now been a month since shelves fell) --nothing!!! I gave up and had to hire another company to come fix everything, paying them to undo the job I paid Flatpack for, AND repair (i.e., remove damaged metal strip along closet, mud and tape drywall, re-paint after re-hanging shelves securely) the further damage they caused. Completely unprofessional company management. Lesson learned. I had at least three more days of work for these guys ready to go, but would never hire them again. If you want to feel unvalued as a customer by a company that doesn't stand by its work, this is the one.
