Plus, it's next door to one of my fave pizza spots aPizza Doho, perfect if you want to treat yourself after a good workout Workout Format: Classes rotate daily between Cardio and Strength (Upper and Lower) sessions. Each station is guided by TV screens showing every move, so you always know what to do, with trainers circulating to help as well Trainers / Instructors: Everyone here is super friendly! We even had a class where it was just the two of us, and the instructor Elle was still super engaged, even participating in the workouts with us to keep up motivated! Vibe & Community: Lots of positive vibes and high fives from members and instructor. Plus the no-mirror setup takes away the self-conscious factor and keeps focus on the workout itself. Facilities & Cleanliness: Very spacious compared to some other F45 studios (we've been in some pretty odd shaped F45s so being in a studio that is not cramped and oddly laid out is nice). Perfect For: People who want an engaging workout. If you easily get bored with the same routine, F45 is perfect for you as everyday is something new! Parking: Street and plaza parking. When the plaza gets busy though, parking can be kind of a pain (plus some of the spot are pretty tight) Promos: They've got a an intro offer of $30 for 3 classes, perfect for checking out a few of their class types to see if F45 is right for you!

If you live in the Dana Point area and are looking for a circuit training group fitness studio, you…read moregenerally have two options, BFT and F45. And honestly, you can't go wrong with either choice. Yes, there are a few differences (BFT has squat racks and mirrors, F45 is mirror-less and not all of their studios have upgraded their equipment to include racks), but at the end of the day both offer 45-minute classes designed to get your heart rate up with a mix of cardio and light strength work. As long as the instructors are motivating, the studio is clean, and the programming keeps things fresh (both rotate workouts daily), you're set up for a great workout experience. I've popped into the Dana Point BFT a few times and every experience has been great. The instructors are super friendly and attentive, the workouts are varied enough to keep me interested, and I always get a good sweat. And for those of you who are not familiar with the format, each workout is displayed on a TV screen, so if you're ever looking for a refresher on what the move is or if your form is correct (and the instructor is currently occupied helping out someone else), it's an easy reference point to look at. My only comment is that it would be great if they offered some kind of bundle or crossover membership with the Yoga6 one street over. From what I understand, they're part of the same fitness family, and it would be such a perfect pairing...strength and circuit training at BFT, balanced out with stretching and mobility work at YogaSix. It feels like the kind of combo that would keep members healthier, more consistent, and less injury-prone.

Pilates was really meant to be a one-on-one type practice and while I know private lessons are not realistic for alot of people, the next best thing is finding a smaller studio that can offer a more personalized service which I think is necessary for an authentic experience. As an intermediate-advanced student I have taken a deep dive into the practice and I know which studio is truly qualified. My first experience with Pilates was at a BASI certified studio (contemporary pilates). When I moved I was looking for something comparable and began taking lessons with Kristen who is Power Pilates certified (classical pilates) which is highly respected in the East coast/NYC scene. Anyways, it's been a year since I've done one private and one group class per week and my body has completely transformed (alongside walking/cardio 5 days a week). This studio was actually an upgrade from the previous studio which I originally thought was the best. Kristen is so meticulous and particular about form that I'm never hurting in the wrong place (lower back, which is easy to strain with improper form) and she has such an eye for detail which has given me more understanding of my own body and deficiencies to look out for.
