They get 4 out of 5 since the place is older, equipment is rusty, but 1/2 the gym is open, which makes you feel like you're in Costa Rica or a place like that working out. ITs also small, so when you're comparing gyms like this, you have a few other CF gyms that are the same price, but massively bigger. Its fun to drop in here, but I dont see myself becoming a regular member here.

Every session begins with a friendly, social atmosphere that makes you feel part of the community right away. The members are welcoming, supportive, and encouraging, no matter your fitness level. The workouts are challenging but progressive, allowing you to grow stronger over time. Every movement is scalable to your individual ability, and there's never any judgment, only motivation to push yourself and improve. I've always felt like part of the family, whether during workouts, community BBQs, the CrossFit Open, or other social gatherings. For the price, what you get here is exceptional: expert coaching, a well-structured program, and a culture that drives real progress in strength, muscle development, and overall fitness.

If you live in the Dana Point area and are looking for a circuit training group fitness studio, you…read moregenerally have two options, BFT and F45. And honestly, you can't go wrong with either choice. Yes, there are a few differences (BFT has squat racks and mirrors, F45 is mirror-less and not all of their studios have upgraded their equipment to include racks), but at the end of the day both offer 45-minute classes designed to get your heart rate up with a mix of cardio and light strength work. As long as the instructors are motivating, the studio is clean, and the programming keeps things fresh (both rotate workouts daily), you're set up for a great workout experience. I've popped into the Dana Point BFT a few times and every experience has been great. The instructors are super friendly and attentive, the workouts are varied enough to keep me interested, and I always get a good sweat. And for those of you who are not familiar with the format, each workout is displayed on a TV screen, so if you're ever looking for a refresher on what the move is or if your form is correct (and the instructor is currently occupied helping out someone else), it's an easy reference point to look at. My only comment is that it would be great if they offered some kind of bundle or crossover membership with the Yoga6 one street over. From what I understand, they're part of the same fitness family, and it would be such a perfect pairing...strength and circuit training at BFT, balanced out with stretching and mobility work at YogaSix. It feels like the kind of combo that would keep members healthier, more consistent, and less injury-prone.

The trainers are super motivating and supportive, and the community vibe makes it easy to stay consistent. Highly recommend.

The coaches are top-notch: knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping everyone improve both on and off the mats. The gym itself is always spotless and well-maintained, which really shows the pride and care the staff put into the space. The atmosphere is unmatched -- there's a strong sense of community and family vibes that make you feel welcome from day one. Training here has not only improved my fitness but has also been a huge source of stress relief. It's helped me manage anxiety and stay positive even on tough days. Jiu Jitsu here isn't just a workout -- it's therapy, growth, and connection all in one. Couldn't recommend this place enough! Oss!

Highly Recommended!…read more I'm new to Jiu Jitsu and was a little nervous walking into Peaceful Warrior Jiu Jitsu in Dana Point--but those nerves disappeared quickly. From day one, the instructors made me feel incredibly welcome and supported. They all take the time to break things down in a way that's easy to understand, and they genuinely care that you're learning the right way. What really stood out to me is the vibe in the gym--not just from the coaches, but from the other students too. Everyone I've trained with has been patient, helpful, and encouraging, which means a lot when you're just getting started. I've been going for a few weeks now and already feel like part of the community. If you're thinking about trying Jiu Jitsu--whether you're brand new like me or experienced--I can't recommend Peaceful Warrior enough. Great people, great instruction, and a truly welcoming environment.
