Before I had stumbled into Krank Pompton and had met LJ and the Krank Team I was no stranger when…read moreit came to fitness & health. I was a former athlete during my high school days and had previously worked with a personal trainer for 2 years during my mid college years. I had prior injuries that was aggravated by my experience with my previous trainer and doing CrossFit with an inexperienced and under-qualified CrossFit Coach. I had gained a lot of weight during my senior year of college due to stress, depression from a really bad break up with my ex-girlfriend, and regularly being around alcohol and bad food. I was moving back to the area when I stumbled upon an ad for Krank. I was initially hesitant to come in and try it out at first due to my previous experience doing CrossFit and the intimidating cult like culture I had experienced. I had met LJ, the owner, his assistant and GM Josel, and trainer Valerie during my first week working out at Krank. At that point I had recently just quit smoking and drinking. What I loved during my first week was the non-judgmental and supportive nature of everyone working out. It was still a very intense workout, competitive, but most of all what I loved was I felt like I was part of a family. Getting in shape doesn't have to be tedious, monotonous, and boring. LJ and his team are highly experienced professionals with years of experience in the fitness industry. I love working with LJ, what makes him different is his caring and down to earth attitude. He's not your typical gung-ho trainer. He's very dedicated to helping you get in the best shape possible with a sharp attention to detail and up-to-date and innovative approach to fitness. Josel his assistant is also a very dedicated trainer with a background in physical therapy and is also a former athlete. I enjoyed working with him as he's incorporated physical therapy and rehabilitation into his group training and one-on-one sessions. I used to suffer from chronic lower back pain and a tight neck before I started incorporating Josel's methodology. It's been 8 months, I'm not depressed anymore, I've dropped tons of body fat, gotten rid of my chronic injuries, packed on 15 pounds of lean muscle, and have tons of energy. If you want to get the group fitness experience, never be bored working out, & have the one-on-one training all packed into one, I highly suggest you try it out for a week. One week turned into 30 days, 30 days turned into 8 months. "Do Work Son!"

Their equipment is not only unique but fun and I was fortunate enough to have my first session with Kenton who actually listened to me- listened to my past experiences, my goals, my lifestyle and took all these factors to create a great plan for me. From doing small tests to see where I'm currently at fitness wise to already setting some great goals. I loved how it was very personal, and very motivational. I left feeling GREAT, unlike many other gyms where I get overworked and over exhausted leading to injuries and can not wait to continue my training!

I'm currently a member here and get nothing but peace of mind for sharing this review. Since Kinnelon Sports and Fitness took over - there have been many improvements; including a saltwater pool and new AC. The staff has been extremely kind and professional. There are no smells as others have stated. There are employees that walk around and clean continuously. Try it for yourself. Other gyms have much to gain from giving poor reviews to their competitors. Just sayin... thank you for reading.

What a terrible experience. I have FitOn (formerly PeerFit) through my benefits from work. This gym…read moreis on the map for eligible gyms to purchase a membership for with the monthly credits I'm allotted. I purchased a membership through FitOn, went in the next day to finalize everything and work out. The front desk kids couldn't find how to enter FitOn into the membership portal, which is no big deal insurance stuff is annoying. Linda, who I'm assuming is a manager, came out and could not be more rude telling me they don't take FitOn and that she's never heard of it. I showed her that they are on the list of eligible gyms and she again continued to be rude telling me that no one there has ever heard of it and that they won't accept it. Left frustrated. Contacted FitOn to receive my credits back, and that they do in fact work with this gym. They told me that they would contact Kinnelon to help set up my membership. A week has gone by and Kinnelon has yet to get back to FitOn with any sort of communication, including ending their relationship with them. Maybe they should focus on getting more members in by any means to replace a lot of their outdated equipment instead of running prospective members out of the gym.
