The beautiful roses that went along with my moms ashes
    Sabrina D.

We had my moms service with beyond the sea memorial - captain Tony was easy to work with and super empathetic with helping set up all the arrangements beforehand. Everyone on deck was super friendly and so accommodating making sure we were ok and did everything to make us feel part of the service. In light of having to send my mom off to sea, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect way to do so. It's something my sister and I will never forget . I highly recommend sending a loved one's ashes out to sea. It truly was such a beautiful thing to do.

My family and I had an amazing service from captain Tony.. unfortunately, this was my first time ever doing this for a loved one.. I was lost and confused.. yet captain Tony was able to answer my questions prior to setting up a date. Definitely recommend this company for a final goodbye. Thank you for everything.

Thank you so much for your kindness and care in helping to make my mom's burial at sea such a peaceful and meaningful experience. Your compassion and attention to every detail brought comfort during a very difficult time. I am truly grateful for the respect you provided as I honored her life

Beyond the Sea helped us make my dad's memorial service a peaceful, meaningful experience. The location in Long Beach is perfect and despite fears of seasickness, I was fine with a Dramamine because the water does not get too choppy. The captain explained the process on the boat and allowed us space to grieve as a family. It was truly a beautiful day (3/22 at 11:30) to say goodbye to my dad. My mom chose to lower the biodegradable urn with the rose petals so I've attached a few pictures so you can see how that's done. The price was more than reasonable considering the number of people we had and the time it took (a little over an hour) because you're working directly with the captain versus a third party company. I highly recommend Beyond the Sea because they truly made the experience wonderful- it made me realize how serene a memorial service could be.

Mom said let's this before I physically can't any longer. We should have done this sooner.

The staff, the captains, the boat and service were warm, respectful and professional. My elderly mother did have a tough time walking from the parking garage to the ship and navigating the stairs there and on the boat but that's to be expected and not anyone's fault. I recommend elderly people bring a wheel chair, or take more time to walk and rest and park as close as possible. It actually added positively to the memorable event.

Thank you to Beyond the Sea Memorial. We had an amazing experience everything seemed to be done so well. Honestly my family and I stressed about what we would have to do and thought it was super difficult. Honestly Beyond the Sea Memorial made this process very easy and even helped me understand the documents I needed. It was 8 of us and 2 of them were under 10yrs old. They made us feel comfortable and felt nice taking part in everything. Thank you again.

The amount of care and concern the Captain and crew put in to making sure that this send off was beautiful...my family and I will be forever grateful. The boat is well appointed with a maritime and cozy interior that kept us comfortable as we said goodbye.

We returned the next day in broad daylight around 3:00p. Sunnyside is an old cemetery and has lawn burials only; it does not have mausoleum or columbarium space of any kind. Sunnyside is adjacent to the separate Long Beach Municipal Cemetery. The gate for Municipal Cemetery was actually open that evening we went. Yes, we stopped by. Usually, we search for famous people or husband tells me that the cemetery may be haunted by angry souls whose final resting place did not allow them to "rest in peace." We learned of The Ghostly Bride of Sunnyside Cemetery. A bride was killed on the way to her wedding and was buried in her wedding dress. Her ghost is said to be seen at the cemetery itself wandering the cemetery grounds at night. The bride's name is Bessie McKensie Baxter. We found her gravestone. Now my hubby likes to turn on his Ghost SLS app when visiting cemeteries. I don't know how accurate this app is but there was no activity on the ghost bride but not too far away there generated some activity. A few feet away was the grave marker for a gentleman named William J Kingdon. The app detected stick entity on his grave and is often erratic. Anyway, I researched and he was a miner in Arizona but often summered in Long Beach. Review #2970

We said goodbye to my dad on the water with Captain Tony (Burials at Sea), and somehow, in one of the hardest moments of our lives, he made everything feel.. gentle. Not rushed. Not transactional. Just human. We left on a warm morning and it felt surreal, just... walking down the dock with the last physical remnants of our father in hand. There's something about grief that makes time feel strange, and Cpt Tony seemed to understand that without us ever having to explain it. It started with the first call and text exchange. He gave us space when we needed silence, and quiet guidance when we didn't know what to do next. He never once made us feel like we had to hurry up or move on. He let us sit there... as long as we needed... with my dad, with our memories, with everything we were feeling. At one point, I was just sitting in complete silence, watching the water, and it felt like the world had paused for us. An eerie but soothing moment of peace. That's something I'll never forget, and something I didn't think a service like this could give. I'm eternally grateful for having been recommended to Burials at Sea by another friend of ours who've used their service. They are worth every single penny.. they're beyond reasonable, and there is honestly zero compromise to the service you receive. Cpt Tony isn't just providing a service. He's holding space for people in one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, and he does it with so much compassion and grace it honestly caught me off guard. I'm not much for showing raw emotion, esp in public.. but this experience reminded me that everyone is human, and that's ok. If you're reading reviews because you're going through something similar, I'm so sorry. Truly. But I can tell you this... your loved one will be in good hands with Tony. And so will you. Thank you, Captain Tony and crew, for helping us give my dad the kind of goodbye he deserved... Thank you. Give your memories and loved ones the sanctity and respect they deserve. Call them.
