If I can give more than five stars then I would. From the very first day of inquiring, to the day of service, the whole process was smooth, comfortable, and the overall service was exceptional.   Hospitality/ Service:  I first talked to Charles over the phone to get more information. Charles was very patient with me and my family. He highly recommended the Buena Park location because they offered a live stream of the service, allowing family members in the Philippines to watch.   I also appreciated that we were also given the option of saving the live stream after the service. We are still in the process of saving it because the service was 4 hours and the video was high quality.    Jonathan worked with us and give us a tour of the area and he was also present that day. We were also helped by Miranda and Juan on the day of the service. Everyone was so respectful, kind and courteous.   Venue/ Ambiance:  I selected this venue because my grandmother recently passed away. I liked how upon entering, the interior ambience felt like a hybrid of an indoor and outdoor sunroom adorned with flowers. In the memorial service hall, it was well lit with stained glass windows, candles, and a beautiful background rotating between different nature scenery. They also had different screens available so that we could play a slideshow of my grandma. It was spacious with a high floor ceiling layout and very well ventilated.      We also paid an additional fee to rent out the back area patio for refreshments and food. I also liked how they hold one service at a time so we had the whole space to ourselves.   Parking: There is a private parking lot available for the day of the service, but you can also park on the side street or across the street in the commercial parking if necessary.   Other: We received her remains, death certificate and burial permit quickly   Overall, the service was efficient and excellent, and I would highly recommend this place. We are very grateful and happy with all of their support, even amidst hundreds of our friends and relatives swarmed the mortuary. We didnt expect the turn out on both days of the viewing. Well when one is in need of a service like this it's a flurry of emotions and basically a nightmare. However it's one of those things that has to be done. I got recommended to Sunnyside from a friend and at first I was hesitant to contact them because of the stresses of dealing with my mother literally on her death bed. However once I made the decision to make the call, I literally just wanted to talk to them or feel them out. However a basic quick meeting really really really alleviated my stresses and concerns. It's almost scary to think that handling ones death and how the ceremony etc. would be planned and executed can be so easy and "turn key". Prior I thought this whole process would be hell but it was a slam dunk, which sounds insensitive to my mother but I can't express how easy and nice the staff was. Literally met with Sunny (coincidentally same name as the business), who was extremely professional, compassionate and extremely helpful/knowledgeable. Then in less than an hour had everything booked and had a good game plan in place. The planning and execution was top notch and couldn't believe how helpful and well run their program/business is. All the staff we dealt with was very nice and helpful including a gentleman (forgot his name) who helped with the cremation and delivery of my mother was great very respectful and helpful. I could go on and on but basically in a nutshell if your in need of services like this I would definitely give them a A+ in terms of service, the staff and the cost. Terrible customer service and won't return calls. I have been trying to reach out several times and all I get is they take a message and will call me back. But no call back for the last 2 weeks. Customer service is not good with this place. I'm out of state trying to deal with this, and today they call me and say they can't help me anymore with my moms service scheduled in 2 weeks and they were supposed to accept her body from the airport. No one needs to deal with lack of communication. Your reply is rather funny and full of lies. But that's ok. You wouldn't want to tell the truth for the public. Yalls lack of calling back and responding to messages says it all. I spoke to you and to Juan. But you or both you and Juan refused to talk to the funeral home in another state where my mother was. They tried calling several times with no response back from your place for the payment to get sent to. And neither of you told me a price and that nothing would happen u til it is paid. But that's hard to communicate to me if you won't answer the calls or call back. The headstone I inquired about 2 separate times 2 weeks apart because I hadn't heard back the first time. Maybe you only work with people in person, that's fine. Just tell me that. But I live in another state 30 hours away. I can only do business over the phone and email. But it's ok. What a find! Sunnyside was a blessing for my family and everything worked out perfectly. From the first contact with Charles when my mom went into Hospice, I knew they were going to give a very personalized service. After my mom passed, we were able to meet with the Mortuary right away. Our Funeral director Jonathan walked us through all the procedures. They have a pre-packaged plan that was very reasonable and includes all the basics. Of course you can always add on or go a la carte as well and all fees were explained up front. Jonathan provided all the options but didn't try the hard upsell at all! They were even able to accommodate some of our logistic requirements that weren't exactly spelled out as well! They took care of everything at the graveside service, including working with the cemetery to arrange everything necessary. Jose was there to manage logistics- he did an amazing job, from providing a speaker and music, to connecting with us personally over historic facts and remembrances. Again, Jonathan was also there to answer any questions and help as well. Overall, I would say this is a very personal mortuary- definitely not a "big-box" corporation. Everything went perfectly, and I was very impressed with Jonathan, Jose and Charles and all their hard work. Will definitely recommend them when people need these type of services.
