The loss of a family member is tragic, ...I (recently) endured the sudden loss of two of my Brothers in a short period of time. I live on the other side of the country....I didn't know who to call or rely on for this service, as there are so many to choose. Reflections Funeral services came recommended to me from hospital staff (Reflections services are apparently well known). I called and Alfonzo immediately answered, His courtesy and (seemingly) genuine concern was comforting. Alfonzo (subsequently) answered his phone nearly every call I placed, when he was unable, he got back to me very quickly. The thought of entering a mortuary was not an experience I was keen to pursue. Alfonzo and his wife were very kind and compassionate ,... They too understand the afflicting loss of close family members. Alfonzo met with me on more than one occasion at locations and times that was most convenient, as my time (like most) was limited. All my questions were answered, there was ease of process with no pressure or hard sell of anything. Reflections offers a service that most typically doesn't ponder till fate reveals it's presence and thrusts severity into one's life. Their professionalism and patience made this circumstance amiable,.... such travesty will allow. First of all, I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family members. Very rude and disrespectful man I ever met on this world. I felt evil towards this man. No compassion no emotions just a cold hearted man. He all about his self not thinking about others feeling. He only about his business not about the family. With the unexpected loss of my uncle last August we contacted reflections and Alfonso and Trisha handled everything for us, they came over to the house and explained everything to us and was able to work with us and brought ease to our family. Then we suffered another loss of our mom this March and we contacted Alfonso and Trisha and they were very comforting to our family and the transition for our mom was peaceful, my mom wanted certain things and they made sure everything she wanted happened, it was a beautiful service they went above and beyond for us during this most difficult time in our lives. I don't even know where to begin. It took over a month to get my brother's ashes returned to us. I placed multiple calls, sometimes able to leave a voicemail and other times the mailbox was full - never got a call back with an update. Sent multiple unanswered emails. I did not get a price until he called me to pick up and then didn't have the information available. I had to ask how much cash I needed to bring because he doesn't accept personal checks. I arrive to his home at our scheduled appointment time, ring the bell and wait for 5 minutes. A woman in shorts and a crop top holding the hand of a baby who is only wearing a diaper answers the door in shock that we are standing there. She calls Alfonso who shows up 5 minutes later saying that he had an emergency but never apologized for being late, not answering my calls or emails. Dealing with the death of a loved one is challenging enough without having to deal with an unprofessional funeral service. If you chose this company, please know that communication is non-existent and you will be doing business on this guys front porch. read more

NOT RELIABLE. The gentleman in charge of this business will use your pain and suffering to his advantage. My family was coming out of state and we were specific about what we needed, he said he could accommodate our request and the day of he said " you don't remember because of your state of mind due to your pain". So disrespectful and unprofessional. I was very unhappy with Reflections Funeral Service. I was constantly surprised by how unprofessional Alfonso was. My mother died unexpectedly last year, and the coroner took her to Reflections. Just a few of the things that bothered me about this service: - he constantly referred to my mother as "mom" rather than "your mom" (for example, "what do you want to do with mom's remains?" "Do you have plans for mom?" Just weird, too personal, and unprofessional. - when we had to go to sign papers, he didn't let us know that he works out of his house. We had to drive about 45 minutes to get there, and then we were confused looking for a funeral home. It felt really icky going into somebody's house to talk about my mother's remains. I didn't dare ask where her body was (assuming offsite somewhere, but who knows). - We signed papers at his kitchen table. He literally pushed Taco Bell bags aside to clear space for us. There was food all over the kitchen and a baby crying in another room. - It took over a month for my mother's body to be cremated (which I find incredibly disturbing). I kept reaching out to him asking what was going on, and he'd reply "Oh, probably tomorrow. We just need the death certificate signed." According to the county, the death certificate was done, so I think the hold up was on Alfonso's end. He didn't send the remains to me until I reached out to him multiple times. Thinking about my interactions with Reflections Funeral Services gets me very upset. For this reason, I wasn't going to bother writing a review. But then Alfonso had the audacity to mail us a Christmas card this year. I don't care if I was once a client, - NOBODY wants to receive a surprise Christmas card from the funeral home that handled their mother's death the year before. It ruined my day. (And it didn't even acknowledge our loss in any way, - just "Merry Christmas!"). And, to make it even worse, he included a handful of business cards in the card. I spoke to Alfonso and he responded saying to not worry about it that he will take care of it and give me the correct paper work with in a week. Today was my grandfathers funeral and let me tell you that the guy in charge, Alfonso, was completely disrespectful and rude. He had an attitude the whole time even before the burial! He was rushing us while we were all saying our goodbyes. I do not recommend this funeral service at all! The man in charge made experience worse. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. They sent me all the paperwork and I filled it out, waited weeks to hear back, emailed Alfonso, left multiple voicemails. Finally after 5 days of trying to contact them I was able to reach Alfonso. He said there was missing documentation. We finished that over the phone and I paid for the service. He said about 3 weeks to get cremains. 4 weeks later I can't get ahold of Alfonso again. Finally after second attempt I talk to him. He stated they didn't do their job and he was transferred to another funeral home. At this point I have been working with reflections for 2 months now to get my dad cremated. He apologizes and says he will send me a check for the refund right away since they didn't do the cremation. It's been over a month now and I have yet to receive my refund. I spoke with Alfonso 10 days ago, again, and he said he would be sending it out immediately. Now I call and get a fax line. I would never ever recommend this place. They don't care about you! Stay away. If I could give it 0 starts that's what I'd do. We buried my dads ashes and the warm this man let us order did not fit in the box that protects it from the earths elements. It was ridiculous. The day of the funeral the place where we buried him gave us a free different earn. Just stay away and go elsewhere. Our think that a funeral service place offers all the bells and whistles but this place we had ask for them instead of them being offered. I mean it was our first time in a situation like this. They're supposed to make it as smooth as possible but man it was nothing but stress. My dads death certificate came in with my grandmas name misspelled. From early one, the communication was poor, the promises that they made were not met and the trust was gone. Not sure how they got more than 3 stars on Yelp. We went with Reflections Funeral Services for my brother in laws services. My family and I were not prepared whatsoever as it was so sudden passing. We did not know where to even start. This is a no fuss no muss service. Recently my nephew passed away suddenly and the coroner sent his body here. We had a difficult time actually finding where it had been sent. I had to travel out of state to view body and make arrangements. Not familiar with CA laws we had lot's of Questions about their background and procedures. These were met with little information. When we met the owner to sign the papers at his kitchen table there was not even a "sorry for your loss" this guy has zero bedside manner. We got through it somehow!! read more

Reflections funeral services was very unprofessional. Alfonso was very rude to me my family and had no compassion what so ever and was overall very disrespectful to my family. I never been to a mortuary where they were rude and didn't let my family or close friends to my uncle view his body. Alfonso got into arguments with others over not letting anyone view the body. From the gentlemen who came to pick up my father after his passing to the Hearse driver (wish I could remember his name I really liked him) all were so professional and gracious. Beware, Beware, Beware! On February 27, 2021 I contracted Alphonso at Reflections to cremate and dispose my brother's remains at sea. On March 6th, I emailed to him all the requisite paperwork mandated by this process. Alphonso stated he received the docs and my bother would be promptly cremated and his ashes disposed of at sea shortly thereafter. Approximately 3 weeks later, Alphonso contacted me stating he has yet to receive the previously noted documents. I informed him I emailed them to him and he acknowledged their receipt. After providing him proof, Alphonso stated that he had received them an attributed the error to a "computer glitch." In late March, I requested an update and Alphonso alleged my brother was cremated and was scheduled for disposal at sea off the coast of Orange County in 3 days. To my dismay, in June, I received a call from a Reflections associate requesting that I retrieve my brother's cremated ashes. I explained to her the course of events. She informed me that she spoke to Alphonso and he alleged the ashes in question were not my brother's, and that he had in fact had his ashes disposed of at sea. I subsequently filed a complaint with the state Cemetery and Funeral Bureau, and was informed by the investigator in July that my brother had been cremated but his ashes were still being stored. Finally, on August 6th, I received notice from the state investigator that my brother's ashes were at last disposed of at sea. The investigator maintained that if had not been for my due diligence, his ashed would have invariably remained on hold. This was in my opinion complete incompetence on Reflections park and specious at best. Beware, Beware, Beware! read more

My family was taken by surprise when we lost a family member and was completely unprepared. We were referred to Reflections Funeral Services.
