Briana was so kind and wonderful on the phone. I called on a Sunday and she pulled the potential sizes ahead of time. Originally, I was not going to bring my son. Briana encouraged me to bring him in order to have him try them on in person. I am so glad I listened! My ETA was 12:01pm and the store was due to close at noon. Briana said no worries, she would stay in order for me to try the shoes on. WOW! By the time we found parking it was 12:05pm we scored a great spot a block away) and we called Briana to advise we were walking up now. She was so sweet; so personable and assured us that she would stay open for us to arrive. Turns out my son was a larger and wider size and Briana had just the size and width that we needed! She was absolutely lovely! We plan to enroll in a class because she is amazing and the school is wonderful too! Thank you Briana for your exceptional customer service!

I think the prices are extremely fair compared to other surrounding studios and they aren't shy with Groupon either. The teachers are always a charm, and the staff in general are so down to earth and always make you feel welcomed! and the former Alvin Ailey, veteran of Broadway herself, Sharron Miller is a doll! She's so cute lol :3 and is always very warm and welcoming to chat with. I'm pretty surprised there aren't more reviews for this place since they're pretty well known. I agree with Stephanie L., Buddy is a sweety and always focuses and assists with the correct technique... as far as Suzanne M.'s review... i totally disagree because I've taken Ms. Miller's Adult class and i have ABSOLUTELY NO RHYTHM, and her patience with me is ridiuclous! lol Besides, if you look at Suzanne's reviews, she ONLY leaves negative reviews anyways lol! They even have a dance store! which is such a convenience since there aren't much in the area. There were a few places with great reviews but most of the moms that I knew sent their kids to DanceWorks for ballet / tap / etc. I was surprised by the lack of reviews but decided to try it out and WE LOVE IT! My daughter is always energized and happy leaving class and we are looking forward to their annual show in June where all classes get to showcase what they've learned. In addition, we just had my daughter's 6th birthday party here and I received multiple follow ups from parents telling me that their kids had so much fun at the dance party. I decided to add a review to help any parents out there who may not be aware of DanceWorks and may not hear about it through word of mouth. It's a wonderful place! She had contacted other studios, but Arthur Murray was responsive and helpful in explaining things. All of the instructors are great, and the owners run a very professional business, no high pressure sales pitches here. They want you to love dancing as much as they very obviously do. We've met a wonderful variety of people through the classes here. Some singles, some couples, some younger, some older. You pay for private instruction and can attend any of the group classes at your level for free. If you take advantage of this, it brings the hourly rate for your dance experience down to very reasonable levels (down from "expensive but worth it" levels - 1 on 1 teaching from a pro isn't cheap). Our experience is that the studio focuses on your pleasure in learning to dance, in other words they are trying to build a repeat business and steady clientele. A positive example of this is couples who sign up for wedding dance lessons and then continue. There is little pressure to sign up for additional events or expensive competitions. What this means for you is that you will learn the dances you want to learn at the pace that you want. Your instructor will be supportive of your goals as a dancer. And you will have fun.

Do NOT put your kids into this school…read more We know many parents who removed their daughters and sons from this school primarily because of their harsh words, and it's not just "discipline." They leave the students with low self-esteem, defeated, berated and depressed. This school completely destroyed my daughters love for ballet. For years, her "teacher" Ms. Alyssa constantly body-shamed her, starting at the young age of 10, yelling at a mere child constantly leaving her in tears. Instead of supporting her, she psychologically abused a young impressionable child. By her last year, she was being told to "get the f*** out" of the studio, that's how prefers to treat her students. This is not a "he said, she said" matter. This required parental intervention in which the whole class witnessed. Despite same, Ms. Alyssa and the co-owner of the studio published a false and misleading narrative of our daughter that is now the subject of a lawsuit for libel and defamation as it was all caught on video. After being confronted on several occasions and suggesting that our daughter acted improperly, their statements contradicted reality. They couldn't produce any evidence - not any one student sided with Ms. Alyssa - and despite having an "on-site" video surveillance could not produce any such evidence. However, to the contrary, several students recorded the behind the door episode on their cell phone. That should provide a good example of how they manage their studio. As it pertains to our daughter, they tried to paint a narrative that the final confrontation never occurred stating that it "never happened" despite the recorded evidence, eyewitnesses and statements of the other students. Adding to this remains that fact that our daughter had the lead role - one that she diligently worked towards for years. One she literally worked so hard for, and when the programs for the show were printed, her name wasn't even listed. When she calmly asked the director why her name wasn't listed, she thought it was appropriate to scream in my face at the top of her lungs. For what its worth, our daughter is one of only a select group that had made it to the world renowned Master Ballet in Phoenix - however that too upset Ms. Alyssa. The director also refused to pay her for the hours she worked as a dance instructor (which is wage theft and a claim has been filed with the vicinage in Verona). When I (her father) inquired about the wages, Ms. Alyssa said in no uncertain terms to: "Sue me" and refused to pay the wages to our daughter. So hence, the complaint was filed. Unfortunately, the environment is extremely toxic, cruel, and beyond unprofessional. No child deserves to be humiliated like that. If you care about your kid's mental health and self-esteem, do not send them there.

Ms. Alyssa regularly and intentionally lied about certain parts and was devious to the point of lying to our daughter's face and further did not include her in the program the day of print - but she still expected full payment regardless for the classes and costumes. Ms. Alyssa also with-held all of the money she owed to our daughter for teaching. Despite this, our daughter was admitted to one of the top dance academies despite VBS. NOTE: VBS's reputation is literally the worst in the state of NJ and throughout the country. If you are going to invest into your child, bring them to a better school. PS - the school has also been sued by the parents of a former student for psychological abuse.
