I tried pure barre with class pass and I was pretty impressed with the class. I didn't think I was…read moregoing to break a sweat but yes I did. The instructor was great but the only reason why I am giving it 4 stars is because I wish the instructor corrected our poses. Will go again.

So I've never tried Barre before and I saw an ad on Instagram about Pure Barre having the first…read moreclass for free so I figured I try it. This location was the closest to me so I made an appointment with them. I didn't know much about Barre so I didn't know how intense it would be. They described it as "high intensity, low impact". So there is alot muscle fatigue and isolation but it doesn't cause pain to any joints. Definitely bring your water because it is quite the workout. Pros & cons about this specific location. Pros: -Clean location - right in the middle of restaurants and other businesses so if you want to grab a bite right after you have options all over the place. -The instructor (Colleen) was very kind and helped me with my form during class. She explained everything so perfectly. - they keep in contact with you via text/phone before your appointment so you know what to expect and remember your appointment. Cons: -finding parking was rough especially at the time I went which was 5:30 pm. I parked on a random side street and prayed I didn't get a ticket because I didn't want to park too far and have to walk all the way back. - you're required to have "sticky socks" which is basically just non-slip socks. I had the kind hospitals give you but not the fancy yoga ones. But I was told I couldn't use them and had to use theirs. & the way the front desk girl said no to the ones I brought was a little rude but I let it go since she seemed nice after the fact. But the cheapest was $18, Just for basic black socks with gel dots on the bottom. I'm sorry but I thought that was insane. - right after the class they talk to you about joining a membership and the packages. Which I guess it's expected, but I kinda felt like they harped on it a little too much. Plus the memberships are pricey. Overall I think it's a great experience to try. I'm not sure if this particular business is for me. If i were to come back, it would be because of the class instructor, not so much cause of anything else.

Wow, where to start! The Bar Method is my absolute favorite place in the world for workouts…read more I started my fitness journey five years ago, taking CrossFit classes that never seemed to fit to me nor show any physical improvement for myself, and I wasn't sure why. A year ago I found out I have a connective tissue disorder that makes it incredibly hard for my muscles to be able to engage the way other people's do. My doctor recommended I try low impact workouts and that's when I came across The Bar Method. Right from my first class I knew this was the place for me! Every single instructor I have had in the past year (Liz, Shelby, Liz, Kate, Sam, Mariana, Jenna) has been incredible, not only at correcting my form when I was just starting out, but also at offering modifications when an exercise might've been too much for me. As someone with an "invisible" disability, one that affects every single muscle and joint in my body, I never thought that I'd be able to work out without pain. The Bar Method, and every single one of its instructors, has showed me that movement isn't supposed to be painful. I do not have enough words to describe the impact this studio has made to my quality of life. Even on those days where my disability is too much, I never skip a class because I know that there are still ways to give it my all, with modifications and taking it slow. If you're thinking about trying The Bar Method, be ready to experience a life-changing workout in an amazing community.

Tried out the Bar Method for the first time and I loved it! The studio is located on a busy street…read morein Montclair, but since I went early in the morning I was able to park in the front. There is also parking in the back. I attended the Bar Method Express with Shelby, and it was great! She was incredibly kind and welcoming. I would definitely go back!

Absolutely love this studio This B3 is where I fell in love…read morewith barre I don't love in Morristown but always make an effort to go when I'm in for work. The clientele here are people who are looking for a good workout. The instructors aren't ex-ballerinas/actors (that I'm aware of) that are looking for their next chapter. Everyone is so real. As someone who lives in NYC and gets a healthy exposure of boutique fitness that is 25% for the workout and 75% for instagram, I fully appreciate that change in studio attitude. I have loved all the instructors at this B3 but I specifically love Rebecca's classes. They're challenging, different each time, and motivating. Motivation is why I keep coming back to Rebecca's classes because she has mastered how to provide suggestions/modifications without seeming condescending, something I have seen many fitness instructors outside of B3 fall culprit to. Alas, she is amazing and I hope to take many more of her classes in the future. I always think about the name of the song she uses for the series where you sumo squat and then slam your hands down to push back each leg individually and repeat. I always crave that song when I get in her classes!
