When I picked up the insoles, the receptionist scheduled my fitting appointment for **over three months later**, telling me that we could schedule as many fitting appointments as needed within a year. I trusted what I was told. A few days before the appointment, I called to reschedule, only to be told there was no appointment in their system.I was confused because I had scheduled it in person. The employee even commented that there was "a reason" the previous receptionist no longer worked there. I was then transferred to a supervisor. Instead of acknowledging the scheduling mistake, she repeatedly told me that the complimentary fitting was only available within three months of pickup and that I should have read the paperwork more carefully. The problem? The receptionist never explained that policy to me--and apparently scheduled an appointment outside that very deadline. If the fitting truly had to happen within three months, why would your employee schedule me for an appointment beyond that timeframe? They then claimed there wasn't even an appointment scheduled. UH...WHAT?? The supervisor never apologized or took responsibility. I was simply told that if I wanted the fitting now, I would have to pay for an office visit. I understand having policies, but when your own employee gives incorrect information and *makes* the appointment, the customer shouldn't be blamed for it. **Terrible communication, terrible customer service, and zero accountability. Would not recommend.**

But FYI, they quoted $150 for shoes that are available on Amazon for less than $100, and insoles at almost 200 a pair(it was about 700-750 my share after insurance). If I am spending that much money,I expect them to know how to diagnose. I was repeatedly asked what I have. They should have looked at my foot and gait and made a diagnosis. But it was more like im diagnosing myself and telling them what to do. Needless to say, I didn't order anything from them. I was told it would be OK to move forward with the consultation with Monalisa, their orthotic fitter so if my plan approved I would not need to drive from Half Moon Bay to Campbell again. Monalisa was so professional and cheerful, while being exquisite with her care, precision and working with me to get fitted for orthotics. She's real asset to the team and she's certified. I really enjoyed my interactions with her. Upon follow up, I learned that indeed my insurance would not cover orthotic work (unless I was a diabetic& I am not diabetic) at this at this clinic and that I needed to go somewhere else in Mountain View. I will do so but I made sure to let Monalisa know how much I appreciated her care and let them know at the front desk how wonderful they were, but that I could not move forward. I honestly don't understand all the bad reviews about Golden State orthopedics…read more I came in today for the first time. I had an appointment to see Dr. Nathaniel Cohen at 1:45 pm. I showed up 1/2 hour early to fill out the paperwork and was greeted right away by one of the 3 receptionist. The receptionist also helped helped me fill out the paperwork as I had some questions. WHAT WAS GREAT ABOUT THE VISIT #1. My appointment was for 1:45 and they called me in to see the doctor right at 1:45 "no wait. "And there was like 20 people in the waiting room" #2. The doctors assistant asked me why I was there and took notes while listening intently. #3. About 15 minutes later Doctor Cohan came in after reviewing my MRI cd, the 4 page MRI write up and looking up information about my case in doctors journals as it is unusual. He then asked me to describe my pain level, what happened, what I was feeling etc,etc. He asked me questions like who is the surgeon who made the recommendation for surgery and was perplexed by what I told him because for the most part surgery is not possible. When I told him the surgeons name who made the recommendations Dr. Cohan became even more perplexed as the surgeon is a very well known and knowledgeable surgeon in the medical community. So he asked me more questions and even called the surgeon to speak with him and "unfortunately the surgeon was out of the office" try to get to the bottom of the confusion. After Dr. Cohan examined me and we spoke more, he was able to ascertain why he believed that the surgeon was recommending surgery for me and believed that if he is correct then he would also recommend getting the surgery. What struck me about Dr. Cohan was that after he had looked at the results of the MRI's and talking with me; he was not sure of a proper course of action and that he told me that he did not know everything. "Now to me this is a sign of a great doctor who is also humble" (instead of coming to a conclusion and possibly giving me misinformation, (like my GP) he chose to say I don't know!, now that's a good doctor!!!) He told me to make another appointment with the surgeon and wrote down for me what to ask him specifically. He then said that if the surgeon confirmed what Dr. Cohan told me to ask him, that I should have the surgery performed. (Here is an Orthopedic surgeon telling me that the other surgeon is more capable to perform this specific surgery... I mean wow!) All I got to say is Dr. Cohan obviously cares about his patients!!! Dr. Cohan, you are the best!! Thank you for your kindness, bedside manner, honesty, compassion and concern for your patients. #4. He even gave me a referral to another GP!! And told me to call him if I had other questions about anything. 5 stars is an understatement! Everything about this office is 5 stars including the receptionist. Again I really don't understand the bad reviews.

My partner came here for a consult last year in February. He had spinal stenosis and degenerative…read morediscs and was tired of being in pain. We met with Dr. Gadvani and his staff who were very professional. The doctor gave a detailed overview of the surgery (spinal fusion surgery and replacement of 3 discs) and said he'd be up and walking and out of the hospital in one or two nights, starting physical therapy within a couple months and back to his normal activities and pain free etc. He decided to go ahead with the surgery as we really believed back surgery had come a long way after speaking with the doctor and he gave us a lot of confidence in his ability. The first sign things weren't as they seemed was he definitely could not leave the hospital in one or two days. It was two weeks in the acute care center next door before he could be released and be able to get up and go to the bathroom and take basic care of himself he was in such terrible shape and intense pain. What followed were months of following everything he was supposed to be doing (physical therapy outpatient and inpatient, wearing a special belt to help the bone regrow around the surgery area etc. Fast forward to now (some 18 months later) and the surgery was a complete failure. He's in more pain now than before and his quality of life keeps diminishing. His back is weak and he has constant pain. After going to every meeting with him and seeing this clinic it seems they really just funnel as many people as they possibly can through here. I don't feel they are forthright in some of the consequences of what happens if this surgery fails and give unrealistic expectations of recovery times and results of spinal fusion surgery. We have chosen to not go back here and try and deal with his issues as a result of this surgery elsewhere.
