Happily, I was still greeted with open arms and smiles. For a Monday morning, I thought that was pretty great! There was a question as to whether or not my health plan would be accepted for insurance payment as I was not sure. I was told it would be OK to move forward with the consultation with Monalisa, their orthotic fitter so if my plan approved I would not need to drive from Half Moon Bay to Campbell again. Monalisa was so professional and cheerful, while being exquisite with her care, precision and working with me to get fitted for orthotics. She's real asset to the team and she's certified. I really enjoyed my interactions with her. Upon follow up, I learned that indeed my insurance would not cover orthotic work (unless I was a diabetic& I am not diabetic) at this at this clinic and that I needed to go somewhere else in Mountain View. I will do so but I made sure to let Monalisa know how much I appreciated her care and let them know at the front desk how wonderful they were, but that I could not move forward. I started of with a prostrate MRI as I have and enlarged prostrate but needle biopsies have shown no fast growing cancer cells in any of the last 3 of them. I think I need to make my twice yearly check up to guarantee my continues success in this area.

I was initially encouraged to come in after reading Dr. Sagoo's extremely positive reviews on HealthGrades, Vitals.com, RateMDs, and the US News and World Report Doctor Finder. He was rated extremely highly on every website I could find with his information. Upon verifying various board certifications and specialities on the state medical board lookup, and the American Board of Medical Specialists, I decided to keep my appointment and am extremely glad I did. I was seen within a reasonable amount of time, each step of my appointment was explained clearly, each member of staff was extremely kind and professional, I felt very listened to, and overall I felt very comfortable in the staff's care. My diagnosis was explained clearly and patiently, all of my questions were answered, and I was treated very respectfully. I would be more than happy to come back again.

Dr. Cohen & Dr. King are amazing but their staff is problematic…read more However, Dr. Kim is one of the worst physicians that I've ever encountered I've utilized Golden State Ortho when they were Ortho Norcal & Dr. Cohen handled my ACL and several knee surgeries perfectly. Cohen has great bedside manner & it's just an overall nice person as is Dr. King. The office even has x-ray and MRI on site which is helpful. However, after a recent injury, I was referred to Dr. Kim. I don't know if this guy was having a bad day but he was rude, non responsive & left in the middle of my appointment, even though he was an hour late. He was so condescending during the appointment & off putting that his nurse had to apologize on his behalf. He just walked out of the room, as I was asking questions about the injury and never reappeared. My fiancé who attended even said there's no way that guy is operating you, if that's how he acts during an appointment. The challenge with the office staff is getting a response. There are a number of other reviews for the same location and majority are around gaps in response or complete lack of response. I ignored those comments and went back to what I trusted and now know they were justified. I don't know what happened to this practice, but do not go. There are other orthopedic surgeons in the Bay Area, who are great, care about follow up and the overall outcome for their patients. I wish Dr. Cohen and Dr. King would leave this office because there's no way it's getting any more of my business. Now, in the middle of an injury where I was getting treatment from this facility, I'm now having to go to a different orthopedic surgeon.
