I've been looking for a place to get a brand new prosthetic. After some very light paper work, talking with Mike, and evaluating my current prosthetic of 8-9 years, the only thing that needed to be changed was the socket. Luckily a donor had given him 3 with roughly my size foot! He was willing to replace my old foot with the new one, and customize it so it would fit properly. He really listens to his customers, knows his field extremely well! Even told me what my next steps should be for a new prosthetic should this one finally give way. Personalized service and support is hard to find these days because of the consolidation in the Prosthetic industry and the way that medical providers reimburse for supplies and services. I've been a below knee amputee for over twenty years. The BP staff has always gone out of their way to keep me on the road. I highly recommend their services and support. They have patients that fly in from all over the country because of the low quality work performed in many prothetic facilities through out the US. BP does their own work. They do not send out the prosthetic manufacturing to outside vendors. This enables then to create a product that is better fitting. I've been a a patient of Breaky Prosthetics for eighteen years, and they literally gave me my life back. I am a below knee amputee, and the entire staff is dedicated to meeting the comfort of their patients. I drive (two hours) from Santa Rosa to San Jose for their care, because I trust that my needs will always be taken care of. They have never failed to meet those challenges for me that are so important to the comfort of an amputee. It allows us to function at a high level, and I am so grateful for that. I've been a patient here for almost four years. When I first came to Mike I was in bad shape. I couldn't even get fitted because my stump was raw and sore to the touch. After staying off my leg for two weeks, I was fitted and received a leg that fitted so well it was a miracle. My life has changed dramatically since then. I have been completely off all medications and pain meds since May 2018. Any time I needed a new in-pad or have a questions I would walk-in with no appointment and receive excellent service. I recently received a new leg and it fit so comfortable I was doing jumping-jacks in my living room with my 14-year-old son! My new leg not only fits so good, it looks beautiful. I have been a above the knee amputee since march of 2012 and have not been able to get a prosthetic made right and found Breakey Prosthetics from one of their patients who I ran into at the store on the 4th of July and asked where he had got his leg made as he had something I had never seen and it was a flag and eagle on the socket of his leg and he gave me the name of where he had his made, I called a few days later and went into the office and met Mike and his Staff Chris and Deloris and let me say the staff is so polite, helpful and understanding. Mike is so supportive and is so motivated to get people up and going Today I got fitted for my new leg and can't wait to get up on my leg and start to walk something I have wanted to do since day one but had my first leg made someplace else and it was made wrong but mike and his staff is so helpful and supportive when he was fitting me today and having me stand to measure me it reminded of the saying that Neil Armstrong said when he landed on the moon and said ": One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" If you need any artificial limb made I highly recommend that you go to mike and his staff. read more

A student of mine who is an above-the-knee amputee recommended Breakey. He walks well and is active. I did not have a good experience. I am an AK and very active -- I walk several miles a day, run, etc. The socket they built for me lasted about two months without problems but then it continuously leaked. Their fixes did not work and I ultimately found another prosthetist. Most of the patients I saw in their office walked with assistive devices, which is not a good sign. All that said, the socket they made for me was extremely comfortable. If you are less physically active or have a lot of skin problems, they might be a good place for you. My overall experience was not good to very poor (I had to confront Mike several times before he begrudgingly acknowledged the problems with the socket); the three stars are an acknowledgment of Chris' excellent craftsmanship; though the inner socket leaked, the craftsmanship on the exterior carbon frame is the best I've ever seen. Nevertheless, if you're athletic or want to walk without canes or crutches, I recommend going elsewhere. read more

I've been extremely pleased with the two prosthetic devices - for my lower right leg - that have been developed specifically for me via the staff at Breakey. I'm amazed at how both devices support my weight in a pain free on the remaining stump below the knee. Additionally, the follow up visits have gone well to monitor how my leg is adapting to the device over time. Losing my lower right leg below the knee came as a surprise. Simple tasks became impossible such as carrying a bag of groceries or a load of laundry. Going for walks, short or long, were over. Breakey has helped me to get back my former life and health. I'm very grateful for the time and energy that the Breakey staff has dedicated to producing the wright devices which have turned my life around. read more

I was born with out my left forearm and have had a prothesis since I was a kid. My current unit is getting very old, well over 25 years, and I was in need of a new harness as mine was getting very ratty. I called Breakey after dealing with another well known 'national' shop who told me it would be 3 weeks before I could get it replaced. I called and spoke with Mike on Friday and had an appointment the next Monday at 8:00. When I got there, a bit earlytoo, Mike and Chris welcomed me into the shop where they were able to build me a whole new harness while I was there watching every step. These guys are the best! No question. Great guys, very personable, very caring to make sure they got it right and tweek everything until it was perfect. An hour later, I left with a brand new harness that was better then the original. Best place ever. I will definately be using them from now on and strongly recommend you do too read more
