His voice is enthusiastic, his direction is clear and his energy is off the charts. The bikes were all upgraded in the past couple years. The studio is sparkling clean. And I do appreciate that they offer earplugs at the front desk, just in case you'd like them, cause it is LOUD in there! A lot of people complain about the parking situation, but there is always parking here. The lot is tight, but there's also an underground parking garage where the spaces are bigger and you can always find a space.

CYCLE BAR @ HILLCREST…read more Parking here is honestly a massacre. It gets extremely busy, especially on weekends. The parking situation just isn't the greatest. There are so many popular spots around CycleBar like Trader Joe's, Oakberry, and other busy restaurants so finding a space can definitely be difficult. But if you keep circling around, you'll eventually find one. I've been to CycleBar a few times before back home in Washington, and I was really excited to try this location for the first time. Unfortunately, my name got mixed up with someone else's and my reservation wasn't showing up on their screen, even though I had it on my phone. But the staff was super nice and got everything sorted out so I could still join the class. They gave me cycling shoes, and I loved that they wrote a cute little note on my locker. The whole vibe of CycleBar is something I've always loved the dark room with the red and purple lighting just feels so energizing. Our instructor was super upbeat and motivating, and I really enjoyed the flow of the class. The only critique I have is that it wasn't as challenging as the classes I've taken before; it felt more like a beginner-level ride. But it was still a great experience overall. I loved the music selection and the energy of the people in the room. Overall, I'd definitely recommend trying CycleBar for your first ride and seeing if it's your vibe. I absolutely love cycling and would continue coming back.

The instructors bring so much energy, the playlists are always on point, and the vibe makes you forget you're even sweating. Every class leaves me feeling energized, accomplished, and genuinely happy--not drained. Whether you're new to cycling or a regular rider, the atmosphere is welcoming and motivating, and you can truly ride at your own pace while still feeling part of the room. If you want a workout that's effective, uplifting, and actually something you look forward to, SPARKCYCLE is it. Can't recommend it enough ‍

The atmosphere is motivating, and I can see why people enjoy taking classes here. That said, I did want to share one part of my experience that put a damper on the class for me. I briefly checked my phone to send something quick to my sister (which, in hindsight, I probably should have stepped out to do), but I genuinely didn't think it would be an issue since I've never seen a posted rule or signage stating that the studio is phone-free. I was caught off guard when I was called out by name during class in a way that felt more aggressive than necessary. If phone use is discouraged, I completely respect that -- but I think it would be more helpful to clearly communicate expectations beforehand or have signage posted. Especially if this has been an ongoing concern in classes, clarity would help avoid uncomfortable situations for everyone. I've also noticed comments from others in the studio about phone use before, which makes me think this may be a recurring issue from other riders as well. I just wish the approach had been kinder or more private, as being publicly called out took me out of the moment. While I may try a different instructor in the future, I still enjoyed the workout itself, loved the music, and appreciate the overall studio experience.

They recommended a bike location towards the back/center so that I could see the instructor. Pros: -lockers are available- you don't need to bring your own lock, there are instructions in the locker on how to lock up your items -first shoe rental is complimentary -the instructor, Georgia, was upbeat, friendly, and knew peoples names in the class -I appreciated that the room itself was on a darker side so there's a level of comfort in there as well -parking was no issue- it fell within the free validation hours. Cons: -n/a Since this is located in the mall, I did feel a little strange walking back to my vehicle all sweaty after working out. But it seems like folx get used to it. Overall, glad I got to try this place out!

Here to update my review as 2 years have passed and I felt like an updated review was necessary!…read moreThis establishment has gone through a TON of changes. Upon Check-In: - Edge Cycle is inside of RevBody and you'll find a check in desk towards the back. - There can be up to 2 front desk helpers to assist you with check in and sizing if you need shoes! I'd say most of these girls are also Edge riders so they are extremely resourceful. One of the front desk helpers: Stephanie, who is a rider, can help you check in get your sizes and she typically will also help assist you/walk you in 5 mins before class starts to help you set up on your bike! Gear: - You'll need shoes, a face towel and water because the workouts can be intense. They have shoes for rent and they have drinks available for purchase! At Edge Cycle or RevBody! - I'd wear something extremely comfortable so that you're not worried about clothes rising up or if your clothes get too wet; a towel for sure feels like an essential! The Class: - I'd say Edge Cycle has changed in a sense that a lot of classes now implement choreography. Depending on the class, sometimes it can be 8 count or as many as 32 count. It's honestly even a lot for me, but a lot of the instructors are more so encouraging rather than feeling pressure to participate. You made a choice to sign up for class, why not make the most of it? - Music is always so good! Sometimes the room can get REALLY loud, but they have ear plugs at the front desk. Changes: - Edge got rid of their second location in La Jolla so this is the main facility! - The inside of their facility now has up to 29 bikes with mirrors so you can see yourself/fix your form. Overall: I've brought a ton of people to Edge through the years and everyone has enjoyed the class!

The check-in process was super easy and the people that worked there made sure to get my mother and I accommodated on our bikes. Even though this wasn't my first time cycling, they still helped me out. What I really love about this place is that the instructor came to us before the class started to get to know our names and who we were. And while the class was going on, she would yell out words of encouragement directed to each individual. This really made the experience more personalized since instead of telling "come on everyone you can do this", it was "come on Sarah, you got this, keep pushing". This really motivated me more to push myself during the class. Additionally, I like how its first come first serve in terms of picking your bike here. No need to worry about reserving a specific bike when you can pick whatever bike that you want. I also like how this is in the beginning of PB so you don't have to drive all the way down Garnet just to get to the class, it's pretty much right off the 5. They also have their own parking lot which means no struggling for parking, yay!
