(I checked with BY themselves.) Then Paul Schatz negotiated a price with us: I made the salesman an offer, she went and checked with the manager, came back and said ok, I repeated the offer to ensure there was no misunderstanding, she agreed, and we shook hands. But then Schatz refused to honor that price. Said that the whole conversation and handshake had never happened. A LIE! Then they said over the phone that it didn't matter because they had decided not to do business with us. BY is located in North Carolina. Found a furniture store near them and that store is selling us the same pieces and shipping them to us for more than 20% less than Paul Schatz was willing to do it. Don't ever, EVER give these guys your business. Unethical stores don't deserve to be in business.

This way no one sits on your couch! our couch arrived exactly in time and we paid when it was delivered. The delivery gentlemen put felting on the bottoms of couch legs to protect our new wooden floor. We also received a lovely card and a gift! Homemade Carmel candies. I want to buy all my furniture here. All of the furniture is made out of quality high end materials and if they are having a sale you should take advantage! When you step inside, there's nice jazz music, a nice smell and balloons contributing to a laid back party atmosphere. Our sales person felt honest and not pushy. There were at least three floors of furniture, lots of options. If you are looking for a sleeper sofa, definitely check this place out. We got a good deal on our purchases (they can usually meet other stores' prices) and they threw in delivery for free (normally $125). Definitely will be at the top of my list next time I need some furniture.

But the price tag was a shocker - it started at around $1500 and went up from there, depending on wood choice. I left, and in my car ran a Web search on the chair, and found it for sale at several mail order sources in the $800-$900 range (plus, of course, around $120 shipping, which still made it about two-thirds the price of the one in the store). So: rude employees, unwelcoming environment, unreasonable prices: that adds up to one star in my book.
