What a delight to step in here and realize this is going to be our new go-to spot for wine, spirits, and anything we need at the last second. WAY BETTER than "that other place" on the other side of the mall. Convenient parking and nearby lots of other shopping and places to eat or grab a coffee or pastry or what-have-you. The staff was exceptionally friendly while gearing up for the night of the Fourth of July. While we were there it was quiet. This store is SO navigable and user friendly - a scaled down version of that other place but with so much more on offer apart from wine. We had no idea. They have aisles for pharmacy-type items, they have food, it's like a suped up convenience store. We came for soda and also a refresh on our beer supply - we don't like to get large cases of beer; we like to try small amounts of different kinds, for fun, and BevMo! had what we needed. read more

I had an unpleasant experience at BevMo! My dinner plan was cancelled. Since the bottle of wine was unopened, I went to the store and made a request for a refund. The cashier willingly agreed to process the return. A few moments later... he pulled me to the side and asked the customer from behind me to come forward. She asked why. He replied by saying: because I had a return, she should go before me. When she said she didn't mind, he begrudgingly continued my return. Needless to say, I felt uncomfortable being placed in the situation. You could feel coldness from the cashier's demeanor. It was my first time returning an item that I originally paid by phone. Naively, I asked how I would "swipe" my card. His response to me was pure arrogance: you oughta know. When the transaction was over, he did not bid me farewell. There was no gesture or form of communication to indicate the transaction was complete. Instead, I left the counter and walked out of the store in awkward silence. Matthew's passive-aggressive behavior suggests that there is a contrast in customer service for purchases and returns. Because the latter is inferior to the first, customers with returns are deprioritized at checkout. State law allows for the return of unopened alcohol. Yet through his actions, the cashier has made it clear that not only is he above the law, but also above his paygrade. He was being extra for no reason. How does his behavior build bridges and encourage customers to come back? We've come a long way from "Thank you. Come again". He's the reason why customers prefer online shopping rather than coming to the store. I look forward to automation. read more

Boy, this was surprising. I thought this would a huge place like Total Wine. It would be cavernous and overwhelming to wander around in. Nope, it was small and looked more like grocery store. There were sections to buy accoutrements for a party and there was a little bit of that vibe. But for pure alcohol and whatever did you needed, it was pretty small. As I was being rung up, I recognized it was the individual who had answered the phone by his incredibly friendly & professional demeanor. If I could leave a zero star, I would. The employee who help me unload alcohol for my car stood there with his arms crossed and just stared at us as we unloaded over 15 cases of beer bottles and cans. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I came to return the alcohol that was left over from my wedding, and he did not look happy at all. I wasn't aware that the purchase was returnable without a receipt. Every retail store I've been to, I can return items just by handing over my credit card or store account. I asked if I could return the items using the credit card I used to purchase and he was very rude and said no and offered no alternative, was not apologetic nor helpful. I will never come back to this bevmo ever nor recommend using bevmo to any of my friends who are getting married. To bevmo: please upgrade your systems so you can track purchases through credit cards or bevmo accounts. Please also train your employees to be more courteous to customers. We over purchased for our wedding not wanting to run out of any drinks and now your employee seems annoyed we're returning so much. Edit: I got the receipt and now the manager is telling me I can't return the alcohol because it's paste the 7 days. No it isn't. I had to pre-buy this alcohol from you and it got delivered 3 days ago for my wedding! What made me even MORE angry is that after this 7 day excuse, he says he doesn't accept beer returns. Well why didn't you tell me this before I had to drive back home to get my receipt??? It wouldn't have even made a difference since your store doesn't accept beer returns. This is a review of the wine section only. I am astonished how weak the wine selection was. Especially given it takes up a good deal of expensive South Center real estate. For background, I used to shop weekly at Bay Area BevMos, and still do during regular trips to SF. Their store to store selection of wine has always been reasonably balanced with a good range of qualities for a given style, and broad selection of styles as well. This BevMo did not offer much beyond what I can get at my neighborhood QFC. For example, they had a decent space reserved for German wine. But, there were no Prädikat wines available. No Troken. And I think all were screw tops. Most of the selection were from producers packaging for the western market (low grade entry level wine with USA friendly labels). This is fine, but in between the supermarket stuff and an elite TBA, there should be something more than BevMo had. Good lord, they have enough space for it. Moving down to France (and skipping Austria as nothing was from there), I found only two Alsace Riesling. I think the only Schlumberger was a Pinot Gris (really missing the boat guys). The "other red" section was huge, but probably 90% of it was blends versus distinct unique grapes grown in North America such as Barbera, Limburger, etc. Italian Piedemonte selection was very light. South America slection was nice, but lots of them had that famously biased Wilfered Wong high rating for varieties almost exclusively retailed by BevMo (fishy). There is no reason to go here with Total Wines just down the street, from a wine standpoint. Beer and hard liquor section looked well stocked. Especially beer. That must be their deal. read more

The store was nicely laid out and they had plenty of glassware and some food. Unfortunately one of the sales people seemed to follow me everywhere I went; she was very chatty sharing plenty of things about her personal life. Calling it "annoying" would be an understatement. Their competitor, Total Wine, has better prices, a larger selection, and I don't feel stalked when I go there. Needless to say I'm crossing BevMo off my shopping list. read more

BevMo took advantage of Washington's liquor privatization and set up camp on Southcenter Parkway in one of the small older shopping complexes. Parking is plentiful and employees are super pleasant. The decor is sparse. It feels like a cross between a grocery store and the old state stores. White flooring with white fluorescent lights and very straight forward displays. The liquor selection is impressive - all kinds of brandy, rum, tequila, vodka, scotch, and whiskey. It is one of the more impressive selections I've seen in a long time! I wasn't as impressed with their wine selection. I enjoy Rieslings and dessert wines and was surprised how both were greatly under represented. I didn't see a single bottle of auslese or spatlese in their German wine selection or their dessert wine selection and no ice wines or moscatos. I searched every aisle carefully to make sure I wasn't overlooking anything. For me I will come here for the liquor and Total Wine for the wine. read more

Visit 1/6/15 and 11/14 I've been here twice now, both times for buying alcohol for a corporate event. (I don't drink.) Since I'm clueless when it comes to this area, I come in hand with a list of very specific brands and/or items to purchase. Both times that I've been in, the employees have offered to help me when I first walk in, while perusing and also ask if I got everything I wanted when I checkout. The first time I came, I had a very large order and one of the employees offered to help me out to my car and load everything up which I took him up on. That was a big help. The store is immaculate with what appears to be a wide variety of beer, wine, and spirits along with soda and mixers. They sell 12 Man Beer, which I purchased the first time and was a big hit for people during football season. When I came in this week, it was to get everything for margaritas. It was a nice surprise to see they also sold lime juice. The parking is free. read more

I didn't find what I was looking for but they do have quite a selection! The store is nice and clean. It's easy to get around in and has quite a selection. Unfortunately they didn't have the beer I was looking for but they had some similar beers that I decided to try. The beer selection has quite a few different 22 oz beers and six packs. They also have about 7 or so beers on tap for filling up growlers at great prices. I should note they had a huge selection of wine and spirits too but I didn't venture into those sections this time. The customer service was great here. The guy running the cash register was nice, polite and showed genuine interest in my search for a great beer. I'll definitely be back and hopefully I'll remember to bring an empty growler to fill up! read more

My friend and I decided to pick up a nice bottle of scotch and both have not been to BevMo. I'm not sure how the selections are at other locations, but this one in Tukwila had a huge selection of everything. I've had laphroaig islay single malt quarter cask, Glenkinchie 12 year, Macallan scotch 18 year and wanted to try something new. Brad, the associated there helped us out a lot! He asked us a few questions to narrow down our decision and ultimately went with the Laguvulin 16 year and the Oban 14 year. Both of these were very enjoyable and will be back to try others. Really disappointed with this place. The size was good and if you are an alcohol fan, I guess you get plenty of selection. Me, I'm not a drinker, I came in as I am a fan of sugar cane soda and hoped that I would find a pot of gold, yet all I found was a section worthy of a college fridge, not only was the selection small, the prices were so inflated that I would tell you to avoid these guys all together. I was really excited for BevMo to open here and we went on the day the store opened. They have plenty of salespeople to help you if you needed it, but I did not find them intrusive at all like the previous review. The selection of beer, wine and liquors were fantastic. I'm an IPA drinker and they had an entire isle of it to choose from, same with every type of liquor. I picked up a fifth of Buffalo Trace bourbon and even after taxes it cost less than what my local state store used to sell it for. They had beer and wine tasting going on while I was there (it was a nominal 25 cent fee because of liquor laws or something). They also had a nice selection of beers on tap to fill your growlers. Growler refills seemed a little pricey though compared to some breweries around here. They had every type of mixer you could want, gourmet food items, bar accessories, even cigars and caviar. This place is awesome. Thanks voters for making this happen and creating more jobs in our state. read more

Bought a six pack of beer on 11/27/2016. Expiration date was January 2016 so 9 months after exploration. It tastes like crap. Will report to better business bureau. Bevmo rocks!!! This is one of two new wine/spirits stores in the southcenter area that have recently opened. Today I went to both to compare and contrast. I first went to Total Wine their store was huge and glamorous. Very overwhelming. I then went to bevmo which I had shopped at before in Cali. The store was much smaller and not as many customers but get this. At Total Wine I walked out with 3 bottles if wine and 2 spirits for about $120 At Bevmo I walked out with over a case of wines which were all 90 points or higher for under $120!!!! I know where I'll be shopping from now on!!! The club bev is worth signing up for and it's free!! read more

This store opened today! It is conveniently located across the street from the Kohls' and Nordstrom Rack stores in the Southcenter Mall area. Store is new, pretty, clean. It has LOTS of wine, beer and spirits, prices are great. Today, there were many employees around to answer questions and steer people to what they were looking for. There was ample parking out front. If I had not already been shopping at TOTAL WINE, I would love, love, love this store. But I think Total Wine is a little better. Still, this is a great place to get wine, beers and spirits. They had a lot of glassware, chips, crackers, gifts, cards, gift bags, and a refrigerated case of cheeses, salami, etc. and other supplies for a picnic or cocktail hour appetizers. In the back is a beautiful wine tasting bar. For those who indulge in cigars, they had a section of those. I can see myself shopping here in the future... although I seem to like Total Wine a little bit better. Even though I am a wine drinker, I like that Total Wine has 24 beer taps of micro beer available (but they do not have a wine bar, nor do they have a refrigerated case of cheeses). Anyway, it is a great store, employees were friendly and knowledgeable, and I am sure they will be a success! These stores are SO MUCH BETTER than the old, dusty, small WA State Liquor stores. I don't understand the hype. Bevmo is expensive and their selection is average at best. The service wasn't particularly helpful. This location is small and parking can be tricky if you're there on the weekend. Totalwine is just around the corner and has a better selection and better prices. read more

When the state was taken out of the liquor business, this is what I was hoping for! BevMo! has everything from spirits to wine to beer and everything you need to enjoy those things. Caviar? Yes! Cigars? Yup. Snacks? You bet! The staff were very helpful in finding some wine that I came in for but couldn't locate. The selection is huge and although I don't find the regular prices any better than my local QFC, they do offer many regular sale prices on items. We bought over $2k in alcohol for our wedding reception specifically from Bevmo as we were told if we didn't end up using it we could return what was unopen. They changed their policy the following month and now won't allow us to return it. We had maybe $100 worth of alcohol to return. Seems super petty and horrible customer service. Lost a customer and my respect. FYI to anyone getting married and purchasing alcohol in bulk, Costco returned unused bottles without blinking an eye. read more

My experience was good in person. I bought 2 items that totaled $44. I admit that's a lot of money. So ultimately I chose not to purchase the items. This happened on a Friday. The gentleman provided a refund, and receipt Now I call the same store because the $44 is still pending due to the store not releasing the money. The manager a male Keondra or something similar was really rude and obnoxious. He straight up told me they're system is very old they cannot verify a receipt. I have to go there in person to get a refund. I stated I got the refund but y'all aren't clearing it. He said, " look, If you want your money you have to come up here and file for a refund". I asked his name and position he refused and said that's all besides the point.! Unless you show up you won't be getting your money back. Then laughed and hung the phone. I Seriously did not expect or appreciate his sarcasm rudeness and unprofessionalism by a manager.? read more

I've been here so many times in the past month that I am starting to question my potential alcoholism. I keep telling myself, well, we've been having guests and bbqs pretty often, so at least I'm not drinking everything alone... There may be other places that are cheaper, and some that are better, but can't beat BevMo for the all around selection. There's a decent wine section, a pretty good beer section, and liquor too. Perfect for mass amounts, in short, where everyone drinks something different. If you want rarer or more specialized selections, you're probably better off looking elsewhere. But if you need a bottle of rum for that one guy, some blond beers, a growler of Irish Death or espresso stout or both and a couple bottles of sparkling wine, just to make sure that everyone in your party of 10 gets something they like -- this is your spot. They have all the bar accessories and mixers. Have growler fills and do wine tasting. And also a good selection on non alcoholic beverages! As a non-drinker, being on point for selecting the libations for a work party of 100+ people is a bit daunting. When I entered the store and was greeted with, "Welcome to BevMo, is there anything I can help you find?", my answer was a resounding "YES! Everything." :) The associate who helped me was really knowledgeable and patient. She helped me find a variety of beers and wines that would appeal to a wide audience. And the fact that they also carry ice and cups was hugely helpful and really saved me time. All the feedback I received after our event was positive - my coworkers loved the specific selections and appreciated the variety. So much so that I've been nominated as official booze runner! A pretty decent chain liquor store, during my visit it was hard to get someone's attention and the person who I talked to didn't have a lot of experience with the liquor I was looking at (absinthe), but when they did work with me they tried their best to find someone who could answer my questions. The big draw for this place is that they have some pretty great discounts and send out coupons everyonce and a while. During their sales this place can't be beat price wise. Probably won't convert me from my local liquor store all the time, but I will definitely go to their big sales! read more

For example, a bottle of red wine that lists $14 as suggested retail, sells at Fred Meyer's on sale for $10, for $12 at BevMo!, and for $7.70 at Total Wine (for $7 if you by 6 bottles with 10% discount). Not a good place to look for a wine you want to buy , a friend gave us a wine that was great tasting and mentioned that he got it at this store. When we got there, no one seems to pay attention to us , a couple of employees standing around talking not interested at all when i asked about the wine we are looking for . I must have spent close to an hour just wandering around taking in this candy store of imbibing. Selection of liquor, beer, and wine is phenomenal and, in addition, they carry all sorts of other accouterments, accessories, and and snacks to make it almost a one stop shop for your home bar needs. An entire shelf of different bitters, cigars, glassware unique for different beverages, even copper cups to make that authentic Moscow Mule. Big selection of bottled beer and a growler filling station with 5 or 6 selections, plus kegs. Will definitely be back here. read more

I was so excited to check out the new store in southcenter, I came with coupon in hand that came in the mail,my two bags that holds six bottles and was ready to shop. Not only was there no one friendly greeting or even asking if they could help, the few suite's that were walking around to make sure that place was up to par wouldn't make eye contact! The selection was Safeway at best and the prices were by far more expensive than everything that I had price checked on my favorite wine and beer! I dropped the coupon on the cashiers counter and he said nothing and headed over to wine and more less than a mile away and came out of there a very satisfied customer!
