This spot is tucked away in a quiet strip mall. It's very convenient that they always have availability for you to come in. However, just like most nail shops, you have to know which tech to ask for. I highly recommend Jackie because she does a great job and is really quick with it. I had to take away a few stars because they assigned I'll leave you to do my pedicure who should not have been working in the shop due to her lack of skill. Today I tried Beverly Nails & Spa for the first time. I'm not sure what the "& Spa" is, because they only offer nail services. The retail front is located in a strip mall at the northeast corner of Signal Butte and Southern. The front is really non-descript, and the decor inside really non-existent. The walls are pretty well bare. Each east wall nail station has various personal chotchkies. The west pedicure chairs are standard massage chairs. There is a small television at the top of the north wall, unfortunately set to Cozi, playing old 70s/80s soap operas. There is no music. I was a walk-in, and was greeted the moment I entered. I am told that they can take me for a pedicure, and have me sign in and pick a Polish color. I sit in the reception area and wait. I almost walk out after 20 minutes with no contact, but the same lady (manager, I assume) must sense it. She gets up from where she is doing a manicure, and starts water in a chair basin and directs me to sit. The chair is clean and in working order. The water the gal starts is lukewarm at best. I tell her, and she adds maybe one degree of warmth. Hmm, ok. And I wait. There are two other gals that have also been sitting in chairs, soaking since before I walked in. And I wait. I contemplate leaving again, but my guilt gets the best of me, as I imagine being cited for theft of services because they soaked my feet and I left without paying. As I'm soaking, a gal comes in with complaint about the quality of her full gel set, and bumpy, uneven quality. She gets told to have a seat, and at one point, the [manager] goes over to inspect her nails. It didn't appear that she was charged for the fix, so that was good. I choose the $45 pedi, with all the fixings. It is pretty good. A tech named Amy does a good job, but never speaks to me. It is awkward and silent. No music. No TV. My phone is at 30%. I'm starting to get anxiety. Finally, the wound paper towel is twisted between my toes, for lack of foam separators. I get neon pink polish, and sit under the table dryer thing, which is cluttered with rubber fingernail hands, chotchkies, and business cards. I am charged $50. I don't know what happened to $45. Maybe $5 for the extended soak, or for the uncomfortable silence. The shop takes cards, but is rude to you if you prefer to put it all on the card, in lieu of cash tipping. This is 2017, man. As I'm checking out my toes at home, I notice that the polish is incomplete, the nail shape inconsistent, and the polish bumpy. My mind returns to the gal who came in to complain, as well as several reviews I happened across, here in Yelp. I don't think that I will be returning to Beverly Nails. They are lacking in every way. read more

First time here with my wife, I doubt we'll be back. 0 stars if I could. First the owner said it be a 10 to 15 minute wait for a pedi for both of us. It was closer to 40 for me and nearly an hour for my wife. The owner was finishing up when her family walked having just arrived from overseas. The owner quickly finished, sat down and visited with her family while my wife sat in the chair for 20 minutes. My experience was good. I walked in on a Friday after work, I had to wait maybe 5 minutes or so to get in a chair. And maybe another 5 before they started working on me. I got a nice mani pedi. I like the gel nail polish because they cure it with UV lights and so it's completely dried and cured before you're done and ready to pay. The people in the nail salon were nice and friendly. I thought we'd try this place, as I heard from my sister that she liked them. I guess it depends on who you get here, because I personally have had better experiences at a different salon I've gone to many times over on Higley and Brown. Anyway, I gave two stars only because the guy who did my mom's pedicure was great. The one who had me--who never bothered to give her name, btw--had an attitude right from the beginning. I am as polite as can be, but if you act like a jackass, you're getting nothing from me. She obviously wasn't into conversation because she had earphones in her one ear listening to who-knows-what. Then she sat there pretending she didn't understand English when it was clear later on that she most certainly did. Who does that??! Customer service is not a good strength for this one, obviously. I'm not sure if my feet were just super sensitive that day (4/30/18), or what, but damn! Felt like my toes were being scraped to death when she did the cuticle/cleaning. Reminded me of dental cleaning! I've never had anyone hurt me like that, but I'm not a wuss, so I just sat there and tolerated it--again, didn't know she understood English at that point. So I'm not at all sorry for giving her less than 15% when I paid and don't give two craps if it pissed her off. I tip VERY WELL normally, but if you're an ahole, feel lucky I give you anything at all for such treatment!! read more

WHen I started going here it was pretty good. Two of the ladies there did a good job Than I started getting this older guy and woman and I'd find that I'd go in for a fill in and it would last maybe a week where I used to be able to go for 2 to 3 week. I'm sure my nails haven't suddenly started growing faster. My nails also started lifting after a few days. He just doesn't do a very good job and not being one who can make an appointment, I kinda gotta take what I get. If I knew I was going to get either of the 2 ladies that I used to get in the beginning I would go back there everytime but I keep getting stuck with the guy so I just don't think it's worth the gamble anymore. Time to find a more consistant salon and also one that appreciates the year round resident over the snowbird. read more

I walked in without an appointment, they were very busy, so I stood in the entry way for several minutes before being greeted. Once an associate finally said hello, I asked about the wait for a mani-pedi and she said it would be a half an hour. So I said okay, I'd wait. They put me in a pedicure chair to soak about 15 minutes into my wait; when she asked how the water was, I said it could be warmer; she said when it's busy they don't really have hot water. (strike one) After starting my soak, I waited another 60 minutes before anyone started my services. (strike two). The mani and pedi themselves were okay; no great massage, okay lotion, okay nail shaping. The very next day though, my nails are almost all chipped; and I didn't do anything to them; I came home, made dinner and read a book! (strike three) I won't be going back; they were okay priced if every other place on the planet closed and I had to have a pedi, I'd think about it, but there are too many other choices. read more

I have gone to this Salon to get my nails done for 6 years and have always been pleased with the way that Jackie does them. I have never found anyone that can do them better, and I have gone to plenty of Salons. Jackie is always on time and I never have to wait plus she is fast and knows what she is doing. My friend and I went over to get our nails done after work on a Saturday, they were busy told us to put our names in the book and what we wanted. We did...then we were sat at a booth to look at nail colors to decide what we wanted, great we found them (but sat and waited for 20 minutes before anyone made contact with us). My friend got taken back and wanted to get a full set put on, I just wanted a gel manicure, I had to wait an additional 45 minutes while 2 other people walked in stated they did not have appointments (but were taken right back and got started). I was frustrated right off the bat, then after my friend asks if someone is going to help me and get my manicure done I have someone come over and they tried to tell me that I told them I was waiting for my friend to get done before I got my stuff done (that just doesn't make any sense). While my friend has already been quoted $45 for her services one of the ladies that work there walks by and tells her that it is going to be an extra $10.00 (kind of hard to stop in the middle of everything being done...). The girl who filed my nails was very nice, BUT the lady who was supposed to help me in the beginning acted as if I was a bother and I was an idiot because I asked for her to put glue on the tips of my nails to keep them from chipping. After I am done the massage comes (which is everyone's favorite part) it was like my four year old slapped lotion on my hands meanwhile the person doing this is complaining because she wants to go home. I was in shock as I was paying I asked the gentleman to look at my nails because there were bubbles he told me no it was something stuck under the gel but it should be ok. I paid my bill and left already having a not so great experience the worst part is 2 days later I am having the gel polish all chipped off and lifting, when I call to have the owner call me, he is never there and when he is there he doesn't call. The lady that was rude to me on the day of my visit is who I ended up talking to again on the phone where she then told me she does not do refunds if I want it fixed I need to come back in, I do not want to go back in I was already treated horrible so why would I want to walk back in and put myself through that again? At that point she told me that I can contact my bank then but she does not do refunds. Needless to say I will not be going back and I have to pay another $30 to have my nails fixed... read more
