Avocado bacon burger sans bun and avocado (I'm allergic), with cheese blend topper and steamed veggies instead of fries
Violet H.

I came here for breakfast, years ago, when it had a different name and was under different ownership. The basic structure is the same, with some interior tables but also those by windows open to the beach and ocean. I don't, however, remember there being such a prominent bar in the middle, complete with flat-screen TVs. Seemed like a great place to watch games. (Bummer, though: There appears to be another business on the beach right in front. Tables and chairs were stored there, along with a row of potted palms that block some of the view. As we were getting ready to leave, workers began to set up the tables and chairs on the beach.) There are tables with regular chairs and bar-height tables (and bar height stools around the bar). The restaurant is accessible, but stairs seemed to be unavoidable if you are walking in from Front Street. (I was told there is an elevator you can take from the covered, underground parking.) The menu isn't huge, but it's not tiny, either. I was able to get a burger patty sans bun, without the waitstaff looking at me as though I had lost my mind. (I'm on a low-carb diet, even while on vacation.) The burger was cooked to my specs. It was topped with a cheese blend, which really made the burger. Instead of fries, I was able to get steamed, mixed veggies, although it cost me extra. It was worth it, though, because I was so sick of romaine lettuce being the only option everywhere else I went. While I love romaine, I was completely sick of it by this point. My friend lives on Maui and really likes Betty's for breakfast. She enjoyed her sandwich and drinks. We were there at an off-time. Despite there being nearly no one there, our order still took quite a bit of time.

Maine lobster

We came here so my Wife could have the lobster on lobster night. She said the lobster was fantastic, although you do have to bust it all apart yourself. I wasn't that hungry so I just had a chicken quesadilla which was absolutely tasty. The view is pretty good as well, and apparently tonight we get to watch a little bit of the luau. Great view, great food & awesome service. If you're down this way in Lahaina you should really try this place.

Loco Moco with soft poached eggs

This place was excellent! Service was good. My wife liked her Mai Tai, but the Hawaiian Old Fashioned was not good at all and wouldn't recommend it. We got a loco moco and a banana nut pancake. To my surprise, I was asked how I wanted the burger. Medium rare of course with eggs poached. They truly delivered! The grilled patty was thick, eggs cooked perfect, and gravy was very tasty. I'll go on the record to say that this was the best loco moco I've ever had!

This spot is just perfect. Beach view with breakfast can't be beat. The Bloody Mary was delicious and yummy. I suggest get the Mahi Benedict ! The fish was cooked perfectly and who does like egg yolks. Oh an great spot to watch Sunday football

Wow the view of the beach is spectacular here. They have a tv at the bar area where you can watch sports. Staff are friendly.

Probably my least favorite dining experience in Maui. Service was not great. I felt ignored the entire time by my waitress. But it was just our table. She was very attentive to other people around us and I have no idea why. I never complained about anything and only asked for water and ketchup and the Cheque; she was seen offering it to neighboring tables without them even asking for it. I ordered a Denver omelette that came with a side of fruit. The omelette was fine. But the side of fruit included soft over ripe bananas. Pancakes were fine but almost taste store bought. The only thing I truly liked about this place was the view .

DISHONEST SERVERS - Watch your credit cards!! My family of 5 went there at the beginning of June 2023. Waitress told us she would get us some more tortilla chips to go with our chips and salsa for no charge (we checked first because we really didn't want to spend $7 more for some chips). When we received the bill she had charged us. She said it was due to us getting more salsa too, however we did not ask for this, they just brought it out. She refused to take it off the bill. There was also a random 2% service charge. Of course this waitress received less than 20% tip due to this - service was not great anyway that night. I took a picture of my receipt to compare to my credit card bill when I got home and sure enough, she changed the amount of tip. I have disputed this with my credit card company. Do NOT go to this restaurant!

$3 champagne and a mojito

Solid place. Nice patio seating that overlooks the water that opens at 8am for breakfast. Our visit was on a Saturday morning, which they offered brunch. Interesting menu. I had the ahi benedict. Hubs ordered pancakes with a side of the coconut syrup. Full bar at breakfast as well. The champagne is $3 a glass - which is the best deal in town. The Bennie were good, nothing special, but that coconut syrup was fantastic. We had to find it. Turned out it was sold out for sale in all the tourist trap places. Bummer, but there is always Amazon. There was a line of people waiting for the doors to open when we walked up at 8am. It's seat yourself the two-times we have been in and the best seats on the deck filled up fast. Service was nice and very busy. Definitely go when you are on Maui time and don't have somewhere to be.

One of the best ceviche' we've had and we live in San Diego! We were here for Happy Hour and really enjoyed our time. The prices were great, too! The ceviche was $7 and selected drinks were $5.50. Definitely worth a stop!

Mud pie

This was my 2nd time here. We usually go for their specials! Wednesday and Saturday is lobsters and some other days they have prime rib. We came around 430 pm and it wasn't crowded, but it does pick up towards dinner time. They have happy hour specials for food and drinks. We were seated looking out of the ocean. Super beautiful lookout. I ordered the lobster with a side salad. The butter and lemon went perfect. Mine was super juicy. Ended it with mud pie, which was a huge portion, but worth it! It's like ice cream cake with chocolate. Yum. Place doesn't disappoint.

Happy hour menu

IMHO Betty's is hidden away in the 505 Shops next door to the Feast of Lele luau. It boasts some good specials; $19.95 Prime Rib Fridays, and $19.95 Lobster Wednesdays, which we've tried before. On our last visit here a few weeks ago, it was raining intermittently, and our first restaurant choice Pacific O, had shooed us out of their happy hour, "sorry, happy hour is cancelled today. Come back for dinner." There was no way I was waiting around for 90 minutes to eat dinner here after being summarily dismissed... Hubby walks into Betty's and decides we'll eat here. Happy hour prices are good but happy hour menu choices are minimal (only five choices) and not appetizing for me. Because of the wind and rain, they closed the window shades in this open-aired establishment, which made this place look dark and gloomy. We order happy hour drinks and two appetizer plates; ceviche ($7) and (non-HH) spicy buffalo wings ($12). The ceviche was rather tasteless, no flavor at all. The buffalo wings on the other hand were fire hot, so hot that my lips were throbbing. The server neglected to serve the wings with green onion ranch dip, which would've helped. I ended up dipping my wings in the ceviche to make them edible. If you come on a non-rainy and windy day around dinner time, you will get treated to the music of next door's Feast of Lele entertainment, while you dine inside Betty's. Would I eat at Betty's Beach Cafe again? Maybe. (Truthfully, the Feast of Lele luau has the best luau food EVAH!)

so we went for breakfast and I was stunned that this place wasn't given a five by everybody. The place was busy and the only negative thing was that surly derelict who served us who seemed like he couldn't wait for us to leave however I have seen that this is actually his MO. Maybe he doesn't even work there, maybe he's just an ill tempered guy with dementia who wanders around the place. Fast forward 36 hours we are there for dinner. It was a Thursday evening around 5 o'clock and the place was empty with probably three or four tables occupied. We ordered from the regular menu and the happy hour menu. Happy hour menu wasn't very impressive with food not really appearing very fresh and the mai tai didn't seem to be very well done, but I guess you get what you pay for. similar to most of the other places on the strip that are Oceanside, you're not paying for the food

We had a wonderful late breakfast early lunch. My daughter has breakfast burrito and I had the lobster Benedict. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back again

The location is amazing, right on the water, and the establishment is rather small. We were sat at the bar, and I really enjoyed having the ocean view all around. Bar service was fine. However the food and drinks are "meh" at best. We went during "happy hour," and the menu is limited. The only item I found unique and interested was the ube hot bread -- definitely worth trying; I haven't seen ube at many other places. I found the seared ahi bruschetta to be a bit meager and found the coconut shrimp to completely miss the mark (tommy's is definitely the place to get this item). I also wasn't impressed with the makai tai (mai tai). So while I'm glad business are returning to Lahaina and I loved the views -- sadly the food and drinks didn't do it for me. Perhaps worth trying for dinner, but something tells me not. Furthermore there are definitely many better places to go to for happy hour (such as Monkeypod).

They have a bit bigger discount for our military friend's service history. That was nice. They took my yeti at the front when we entered because you can't have outside drinks; it was only water. We also ordered the Shoyu Poke; Fried Noodles with egg, kamaboko, and Spam (asked them to hold the bean sprouts); and the Teriyaki Beef. The beef plate comes with mac salad and two scoops of rice, so you get a good amount of food. Everything was great for a casual lunch! Disappointing Experience - Overpriced for the Quality…read more I haven't been to Aloha Mixed Plate in years, and I was really looking forward to coming back. My family and I visit their sister restaurant, Star Noodle, quite often, so I was expecting the same level of quality. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We visited today at 1:15 PM, and I have to say I left pretty disappointed. The shoyu chicken was dry, and the overall food quality just didn't match the price. For a family of five, our bill came out to $178, including soft drinks. That's a lot of money for a casual plate lunch experience. What was also disappointing was being told by our server that they do not offer a kamaʻāina discount. As a local, it's always nice when businesses recognize and support the community that supports them. I understand we live in a tourist destination, but the prices should still reflect the quality of the food and overall experience. Unfortunately, Aloha Mixed Plate felt more like an overpriced tourist spot than the local favorite I remembered. At these prices, I honestly wouldn't even recommend it to visitors. My recommendation? Save your money and head to Star Noodle instead. We go there often, and the quality and experience have been much more consistent. I really wanted to enjoy coming back, but sadly, this visit was a letdown. 3 stars.

My wife and I had heard about Star Noodle so much that it was time we finally tried it - our reservation was for 4:45 and we were promptly seated at a table for two with a view of the water. We decided to try a few starters, then move onto an entree or two. Steamed pork buns: the softest, fluffiest, bao bun we've ever had (you can order 3 or 4 to an order.) plenty of pork and veggie filling, and very tasty all around...these are a signature dish, so I recommend ordering if nothing else. Sticky adobo ribs: another solid offering - the adobo was tangy and tasty, and the outer texture of the rib was a little crunchy as if they briefly flash-fried it before serving. I'd definitely recommend this dish as a second appetizer... Green beans: I wanted to be a fan, but the dish lacked any flavor. In retrospect, I would have asked for some type of drizzled sauce to help amp it up a bit. But it's a light, clean, dish that you may want to try if you're sampling healthier items...
