The commercials for Granite Plus are enticing, offering the best prices and customer service, but…read moreour experience fell short of those expectations. My wife and I spent a couple months deliberating over the right granite for our kitchen remodel and the right granite fabricator. When we stumbled on Granite Plus we found our perfect slab and had a good vibe from our initial impression with the two owners (Lanette and Lazarus) that we worked with. They assured us that good customer service was paramount along with the fact we would get the very best price. Fast forwarding to our installation day some of our backsplash was missing and our bar top was set to be installed, but was short by 8 inches! Mistakes do happen, but we were met with a litany of excuses (one of which was to blame us for the bar top being too short) and we were not followed up with by the dates we were promised. To be fair, there was an issue with the 2nd slab for the redo of the bar top and after some back and forth Lazarus offered to let us go to Chicago to pick out the one we wanted. On a positive note the installers were very professional and did a great job.

My wife and I went with Granite Plus for a new kitchen counter top. After signing all their…read morepaperwork saying they are not responsible for any damages to your house and putting money down to get started, we even had to pay a charge for an oversized piece. I assumed they would send a larger crew to handle the larger piece. We started laying out the counter top. My wife spent several hours over multiple days working with multiple designers for the best pattern. On install day, 2 guys showed up and I asked if another crew member was coming to help with the oversized counter and they said no. Why was there an oversized charge when I needed to help the 2 workers lift the oversized counter? The layout that my wife approved with G.P. was not what we got. The pattern/seam does not line up to the drawing they provided. I understand that the fabricator has the final say, but it was not even close to lining up and not brought to our attention that it would not line up. Looks bad. One piece, 25"x22", also was cut crooked by about 1/4" so now next to the stove, it is tight toward the front of the stove, and there is a 1/4" gap at the back of stove. Other pieces are not cut square, but not 1/4" off. On another piece, they scraped and gouged the walls, which needed patching and repainting. Maybe a larger crew (that I paid the oversized fee for) may have prevented this. I am giving two stars because of patterns that don't line up, for not being able to cut a small piece square, and for having to patch and paint walls.

My review is about two years out of date, but this is the first time I looked at the reviews of…read moreErrund, and I'm going to reinforce them: don't try this company. I had an appointment scheduled, I stayed home to meet them and let them in, and no-one ever showed up. When I called to find out what was going on they argued with me and claimed that a person had been out and knocked on the doors and rang the bell. That's false. I imagine they're probably out of business by now, but if not, I suggest you help them down that path by hiring someone else for your house cleaning needs.

Let me preface this review by stating that is is pretty rare for me to leave a one star review. I…read morebelieve in the benefit of the doubt, but in this case I am so incredibly appalled by the entire experience that I believe it is warranted. Despite my initial hesitation due to low Yelp rating, I booked this service as a Mother's Day present to myself due to the fair price and quick quote response from the manager. I really wish I had had listened to my gut and stayed away. The cleaner called me the day of the cleaning to let me know she had just finished her morning assignment and would be five to ten minutes late, which was not a problem with me. She ended up showing up and HOUR late, with no additional communication. She spent two hours cleaning my bathroom with the door closed the entire time, which I though was very odd... considering my bathroom wasn't THAT dirty to begin with, but I let it go and continued do other things around the house and stayed out of her way. After she left, I discovered that she hadn't checked the oven before putting it on self-clean. I had two pizza stones and three of my well-loved, well seasoned pans stored in the oven. My once beautiful pans are now completely stripped, and for anyone who knows anything about cast iron cookware, it is a lengthy process to fix. She apparently took the items out of the oven while hot, and instead of setting them on the oven, she set them on my butcher block island top, leaving a pizza stone shaped singe mark. I had my place cleaned on a Friday, contacted Jake the manager, who said he'd confirm with the cleaner and get back to me the next day. Saturday comes, and crickets. Tuesday rolls around, and I finally reach back out to see what was up. He gives me the runaround and asks for before pictures of my island. Who has pictures of their island tops?? I sure don't. He offers me one hour in free cleaning to compensate for damages. I explain how insulting this is, and explain the dollar costs associated to repair the problems, along with the lengthy processes. I likely underestimated the costs and asked for less than $100... enough for me to buy the oil to attempt to repair the pans, and to purchase an affordable piece of butcher block that I would then need to sand and stain. He asks me why my pans were stored in the oven, and honestly, I didn't think this was that out of the ordinary. Storage is limited and every woman on both sides of my family has always done this. He asks me to give him one more day to confirm with the cleaner. I reluctantly agree. Well, that would have been Wednesday and today is Friday and I've had no response, and at this point, I'm assuming I won't. In addition to the damages, I wasn't super impressed with the thoroughness of the cleaning. Do yourself a favor and don't get lured in by the attractive price. This really is a case of 'you get what you pay for,' including substandard customer service.
